Just found some Jal Shey Neophyte Armor (you can kinda call them robes if you like) +3 to defense with some dex bonus allowed to boot. Looks awesome and doesnt block force powers. Much better than the Jedi robes I have so far. Sacrafice FP regen that you would get from the Jedi Robes but since I'm a Guardian I dont use FPs that much anyhow. Anyone else have this armor? Loving it

I think we need a good friend at GameFAQs to write an FAQ for this game, and maybe make some good tables while they are at it.

KOTOR II: from the eyes of a Star Wars FANATIC
MasterNeo replied to global_74's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
All right! Chalk up another message board topic that has degraded into pages of crap that has nothing to do with the topic at all! Lets keep it up folks! :D By the way, Jedi Academy was pretty much an expansion. New levels, a new SP story (which can be done in a well thought out mod) and the ability to dual wield was all it added. The story and ending were horrid IMO, especially the dark side ending (you call that an actual ending with closure?) The combat itself was pretty nice however, I enjoy spawning NPCs just to wail on. Multiplayer wise, saber detection was noticibly worse than it was in JK2, making the game take a step backwards in competitive play. Dual sabers and staffs were a horrid choice for online play esp. dueling unless you just wanted to look cool for some reason. -
After all this back and forth, I'm beginning to think your game isnt broken, its just that you are having a hard time knowing where to go to advance the plot : \

I believe he meant that the characters reactions to how you influence them are broken. Not necessarily how its earned.

Help, my first mission with mira(can't pass guards
MasterNeo replied to itayze's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Ah who hasn't said that about a game they loved except when they get to a frustrating part in it eh? :D -
1) Punctuation and spelling are essential if you want to put across a good arguement. 2) Ignorant and stupid are synonymous. In other words they mean exactly the same thing. Both denote an absence of intelligence. You basically called him stupid. 3) I dont believe anyone called you a dumbass. Don't take offense at what somone never said nor insinuated. Furthermore, I firmly believe the kind gentleman read your post and responded coherantly. As for the topic... Technical support assumes the game itself is not working properly. The topic creator obviously has no problems playing the game from a technical standpoint, rendering the support forum useless to him. He rather expresses the opinion that people play through the game too quickly and might have missed critical points in the story which is why many are dissatisfied with the story, a perfecly valid one insults aside. I might agree with him once I finish the game for myself : ) You never know.

I hope not, although several reviews have mentioned a framerate slowdown during battles. Hope its not too bad.

Sentinels get the least feats?!?
MasterNeo replied to Darth Drabek's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Yeah its a bit of a shame I guess. I never played a Sentinel in KotOR simply because it was equally bad at everything and good at nothing except skills which werent too useful to me. I think it will balance out as long as the skills are more vital this time around. -
Its also obvious you didn't read my post, although I do appreciate the input! I never stated the reviewer was mistaken. He was right on in terms on knowing that it was Obsidian that developed KOTOR 2, as you pointed out correctly numerous times. I did however say that the "site" was mistaken by putting up in bright red letters next to the "Developer" Bioware. Seeing that at the top immediately makes me say "Huh?" and certainly makes one question the credibility of the site in question. It is a silly mistake, but a pretty dumb one in my book. And yes, I did read the review, and I didn't agree with it for the reasons I stated. Of course you're entitled to your opinion but that post sounded like the "cry about the crying" type. I could say the same thing comparing you to "a poor baby crying because the other poor babys are crying about getting their toys crushed". Its a forum, some folks disagreed with the score the game got and they posted. Doesn't mean it's necessarily whining.

I think they're the online branch of EGM magazine. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Err...riiiight....yeah..them..sure! now I know who they are ' *sarcasm* Hit the nail on the head there. I cant believe people would give a game that has so much ground braking material in terms of more human characters, difficult choices and influence over those around you and how your choices affect everyone such a low score, claiming that its graphics are somehow subpar. I dont know about any of you but KOTOR and KOTOR 2's graphics seem on par if not better than most of today's games. I just cant see how somone can give KOTOR 2 a 6/10 in the graphics department (Gamespot), especially when it uses the exact same engine as the original. Where are the reviewers that love the "if it aint broke dont fix it" philosophy? Obviously (still speaking about the gamespot reviewer) since he made a false statement in the very first paragraph saying that your character "lost his memory" and "is trying to find out why he was exiled", he cant be too credible either in my mind if he doesnt understand the basic plot of the story for the love of mike... 7.5? thats ludicrous. As I insinuated above, I have never heard of 1up in my entire life before and I can't exactly lend my rational opinion to a site that is under the impression that this game was developed by Bioware

I remember somone referring to them humorously as Yodians hey why not?
-
Yeah you're right he can resist incapacitation and stay alive as long as another member is alive as well. He cant be knocked down and he is also resistant to stun parylize and poison as well. Mira the Bounty Hunter I think can be inferred that her abilities come from her wrist launcher (trainquilizer darts, buster rockets). She might be the new heavy weaponry specialist.

After seeing the scans of OXM... (SPOILERS!!!!)
MasterNeo replied to ampulator00's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Oh I'm not concerned at all. Just a little thingie...yeah a thingie I thought about for awile before my brain exploded If it's been proven you cant have both at once, perhaps the lightside woman is the Handmaiden and the Darkside is Visas Marr. Right that's what I meant to say :D -
After seeing the scans of OXM... (SPOILERS!!!!)
MasterNeo replied to ampulator00's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Well here's a little dilemma I've come across. On the main page, http://www.lucasarts.com/games/swkotor_sithlords/ The entrance picture is divided into two sides DS, and LS. If you look at the woman on the DS with the red hood draped over her eyes wielding the blasters, she looks like Visas Marr to me (maybe im just crazy). Just like the one in the OXM scan. However, on the LS, the woman's eyes are visible and she doesnt look blind at all and her pupils are brown, not milky white. Maybe she can see going down the LS path?? So, if the two sides are symmetrical...they'd both have to be the same person right? If anyone understands what I'm trying say, do tell so I can be assured I'm not the only insane person here -
Well if we keep going down the "force ghost" possibility, we'd have to wonder how the first KotOR ended (DS? or LS?). If it was a Dark ending, Malak would have died just as he lived, as a Sith. If if was a Light ending, Malak was regretful of his path down the darkside in his dying words. ERGO: The "force ghost" possibility of fighting a Malak where his jaw has not been severed (like the screenshot) may be feasible! After all, lets not forget at the end of ROTJ where Luke sees the ghosts of Anakin Skywalker next to Obi Wan without the mechanical life support he had as Darth Vader! HOWEVER: If this were true, and we were facing a "redeemed ghost" of Malak... 1) Why is he using a RED SABER in the screenshot? 2) We haven't considered the conversation with Atton Rand at the beginning of the game. If you answer his questions as if KotOR 1 had ended on the DS path, then this would not be possible at all as Malak would not regret his dark path dying to an evil Revan. 3) Can we even assume which path KotOR 2 will continue from KotOR 1? Dark or Light. With all these questions, I think its safe to assume the "force ghost" possibility is out. Another inference from the screenshot that can safely be made is that you are the only one in your party. Bastila is certainly not with you and neither are any of the other jedi. You can also assume that every single person in that screenshot (including Bastila) is ganging up on you. After all, they are all pointed in your direction, and they dont seem to be fighting amongst each other. Anyways thats just what comes to mind right now. Feel free to rag on my lowly post count while you can : ) EDIT: Ignore this post if you want. I didn't see the subject changed to Handmaiden. Ah well, its late and im tired so sue me
