  1. Actually it makes sense in terms of abstract game-balance. Upgrading a set of weapons - regardles if it's a single 2H weapon, 2 one-handers or sword-and-broad - should cost the same amount of resources. Otherwise I'm sure there would be complains from some dual-wielding rogues about them having to pay twice as much as some greatsword swinging paladin just to stay relevant.
  2. Does anyone have some dwarven portaits? With dwarves that don't look pissed or half-crazy. Something along the line of D&D Tordek perhaps? Ack, sorry, found some in this very thread. Still, the more dwarves, the better.
  3. D&D 5 dropped the flawed 4th edition approach. It's much closer to D&D 3/3.5 So if you hated 4Ed, give 5th a chance. Also some people seem to mistake game mechanics with settings. For example Dark Sun and Ravenloft - both of which use the same DnD rules as Forgotten Realms - can't be further from other in terms of lore. So I see no real problem in translating PoE setting onto D&D system. Actually, In my opinion, it's a sign of a good (read thought-out and detailed) setting that it can be used with any rule mechanics.
  4. If you dislike the combat so much, that would only do it for a carrot of some kind, maybe this whole cup of tea is just not yours? Personally I won't play, say a racing game or diablo-style arcade, regarless if there's xp, loot or shoulder pat for every action, just because such games do not interest me.
  5. In regards to that particular xaurip there is also a third way - most beneficial to the both sides.
  6. Ok, here's my list. Barbarian: Dwarf Chanter: Dwarf Cipher: Dwarf Druid: Dwarf Fighter: Dwarf Monk: Dwarf Paladin: Dwarf Priest: Dwarf Ranger: Dwarf Rogue: Dwarf Wizard: Dwarf Because I see absolutely no reason to play other races, when there are dwarves available. Just like why would you want to drink milk, when you have beer?
  7. http://eternity.obsidian.net/manual/errata Currently there are no corrections to the part I quoted. Manual (with no corrections in errata) says that the highest among party members skill is used, opinion on the forums is that only main character's skill counts. So how is it in the game?
  8. Now I see where you're coming from. Well, in my opinion, rotation, as any routine, is only possible when your actions are not affected by situations. Just like if your only instrument is a hammer, then everything starts looking like nails. If your goal is to deal maximum ammount of damage per second no matter what, then you chain attacks in the same "most effecient way" way all the time to make use of the timers or make the best of your resources - so not much difference between cooldowns and mana-pools from that point of view. I hope that PoE would provide enough tactical challenges to make us want to use abilities other then the ones with "maximum damage". Personally I don't mind cooldowns (although, I prefer to call it recharge) as long as it makes sense.
  9. Mountain Dwarf Priest of Eothas (or Abydon, if available) Good hearted and diplomatic, focusing on negotiations and peaceful solutions, but clad in heavy armor and carrying the largest hammer possible. Because a kind word and a hammer work better then just a kind word.
  10. How is N-time/day ability uses (kind of D&D legacy, present in every single edition from Advanced to 5th) used in IE games is different from extremely long cooldown?
