  1. You tell that to the poor (and brutally shredded) victims of The Monster:
  2. Interestingly enough, the .223 pistol is one of the best sniper weapons of the game, second only to the Gauss rifle/pistol. Supposedly it uses magnetic fields to propel metallic rounds at relativistic speeds. Otherwise it looks just like a corkscrew attached to a rifle handle. A pity they didn't include the Gauss minigun in this game.
  3. You are mixing things. The "Nooo!" scene is just out of place, and it's not consistent with what Vader is in the OT. That's why it sounds bad. But no matter how good an actor is, absurd/nonsensical/incredible lines don't change. On the other hand, bad acting can affect a good script.
  4. Nope. Somebody else said they should have bozars, and that's what they had in my games. Gauss weapons are quite rare and/or hazardous to obtain.
  5. Well, cheese lines are still cheese no matter who says 'em. That has little to do with acting talent.
  6. Try the Buffouts. But beware of addiction...
  7. Well, you can't get heavy weapons early in the game. And it's a matter of personal taste, but I like to shoot twice per round... "
  8. 6 AG is a bad character build. But at any rate, it's not like they are going to make you go through a substance screening... (hint, hint)
  9. The only problem derived from killing vendors is that you won't ever be able to do business with him/her (duh!). But once you start stockpiling large amounts of heavy weapons, this may become more of an issue than you thought at first, since merchants are the only regular source of money (and rare ammo) in the wasteland. Usually people won't give a damn if you ice the local gunrunner, but there are exceptions. Killing Tubby and that children exploiter Flick is almost mandatory in any FO2 game... just make sure you don't hit any of the children when murdering Flick. And um, you could try becoming a slaver, but I don't recommend it. It will condition your game and the benefits aren't that great.
  10. Er... my mistake. I was actually referring to the "old" heliocentric conception in which the Sun is the centre of the Universe.
  11. " Also: you're now officially his bitch. Ah, how I love the smell of napalm in the morning.
  12. I thought dark matter had been predicted due to observed gravitational interactions needing more mass than we could see. I didn't know that dark matter was involved in starting up the nuclear fires in the cores of stars. But now that you mention it, I suppose it makes sense.
  13. If you are really in need of money/equipment, you can always murder a merchant and get his stuff. Yes, Fallout is the only RPG in which killing merchants actually gives you access to their wares. Beware, though, that killing a merchant may turn everyone in town hostile, depending on where you are. Try looking for your stuff in the place where you got nookie.
  14. Yes, I know about dark matter. I didn't understand the bit about gravity needed to form stars, though.
  15. That's pure speculation based on wrong assumptions. The theory that provides the relation between time flows in reference systems moving at relativistic speeds is called Lorentz's transformations. They are just an improvement over Galileo's standard relativity equations for inertial observers. It turns out that Lorentz built his equations with two premises in mind: to respect lightspeed as the fastest possible speed, and to take into consideration time and space dilation predicted by Einstein. Thus, any conclusions drawn from applying Lorentz's equations outside the parameters they were designed to work within are not reliable. According to Lorentz's transformations, time dilation is given by: In which t' is the time factor for an object moving at relativistic speeds from an observer for which a time t passes. As you can see, if we are talking about the speed of light, no time passes for the object that moves at the speed of light, regardless of how much time passes for the "static" observer. Which is not to say that time doesn't flow for the object travelling at the speed of light. The wonders of Relativity.
  16. Does that bother you? It shouldn't. Look at it this way. People who bitch and moan about how Evil the US are accomplish nothing. At the end of the day, things still go the way the US have them go. Think that while some people's opinions may bother you, they are just opinions. They only have the importance you give them. On the other hand, those people can't do jack to change the facts they are pissed at... No, I'm not pro-american. But I'm not anti-american either. I just reckon that the US is not the first empire in History, and I know that historical periods in which there are strong hegemonic empires are more stable than those without.
  17. Well, yes. But considering that the difference between other properties dependant on temperature can be of several thousand degrees, 100
  18. Backpacks don't increase your carrying capacity. They are only useful for inventory management and . In order to open it just right-click (or was it left-click? ) and keep the button pressed until a menu pops up, then simply choose the "use" option.
  19. That's only partially true. Since gravitational fields can be considered deformations in the space-time continuum, we don't really know if black holes can indeed be "tunnels" due to the extreme bending that the fabric of space suffers near the singularity. Keep in mind that euclidean conceptions of space don't work very well when applied to that sort of phenomena.
  20. I suppose you could. But then again, most legislations don't deal with the instrumentalized slaughter of thousands of people...
  21. Rubber boots protect you from the green goo you will find on the floor in some places. Stepping over it without protection causes injury and mild radiation poisoning too, IIRC. They are used automatically if you have them in your inventory. To have henchmen use them, just give the boots to them. None directly related to "being a whore", but being a fluffer will result in severe poisoning. You need a drug called "RadAway".
  22. Your thinking that discussions can be won or lost over the internet provides a rather revealing perspective as to who is immature here.
