  1. I thought Martin was kinda interesting. Uh...he's the new king guy. It's true though, NPC character development is still a weakness for Bethesda.
  2. That's be an interesting trip. Hades: Hey Jesus, can you step into this time machine? Your followers are bugging the heck outta me. Jesus: Sure man...hey, you're a bit pale, want me to cure that? Hades: That'd be awesome...hey this is way better than a tanning booth! Jesus: Thanks, it's called heavenly tan. It doesn't even turn orange.

Ouch...although Modano tweaked his knee last night. I have a feeling teams will be zeroing in on that.
  4. Bleh, the Catholic church has a ton of this stuff under lock and key. Many religious folks don't seem to understand that there are numerous interpretations of the bible, and the new testament wasn't put together until 400 years after Jesus lived. There is only one real constant, and that is to have faith in a single creator. Everything else is human interpretations. It's a complicated religion.
  5. First off, you can save way more money by eating home cooked meals than you can eating fast food. Those 4-5 dollar meals add up quickly. It does save time but looking at how many people watch American Idol, I don't think lack of time is a real issue in the US. It's bad time management. People who say they need a quick lunch need to wake up ten minutes earlier and make something for themselves. Now on the health front... Seriously, you CAN cook just as unhealthily as McD's, but most people who spend the time making a home cooked meal also care enough to make it a bit healthy. It's not a matter of calories, its an entirely different mindset.

Yeah, Edmonton got robbed, but I still think Vancouver will be the one to miss the playoffs. Hopefully San Jose will make it easier on you Oilers by sweeping them in the two upcoming games. Although honestly, I feel bad for whoever faces Detroit in the first round. They look incredibly solid and, unlike in previous seasons, they haven't slowed down at the end. Anaheim and Colorado haven't wrapped up anything yet either. 5-9 is a crapshoot. I'm pretty sure LA is dead at this point.
  7. I actually hate McDonalds, or any fast food, in general. It's bad food, it leads to obesity, and it's way to prevalent in our society. I also think it's a good idea to preserve our rain forests, but I recognize that many of these Brazilian farmers are probably way below the poverty line and just doing what they can to survive. It's unlikely that they are rolling in the dough...only the corporations who buy from them are doing that.

Darryl Sutter only managed to get the Sharks past the first round, and then the team tanked the next season. He was a great coach though, and I blame Owen Nolan more than anyone else for that. Ther were a few casualties from that tanked season, including Sutter, Kiprusoff, Nolan, and the GM Lombardi. Under Ron Wilson they managed over 100 points for the first time in franchise history and went to game 7 of the conference finals. That was LAST season, or at least the last season played. It's odd that no one seems to give the Sharks much credit. I mean they didn't start the season out well, but even before that, the media seemed to give them little respect. Now the Thornton trade pretty much fixed San Jose's problems. They are still a bit shaky on D, but the young talent is there and will be even better next year. I'm also not too worried about Nabakov, he'll regain form eventually, and his backup has been near unbeatable in the last 25 games.

It IS the next season... Actually they lost Damphouse from that team, which is a major cog. Every good team needs a solid playmaker. I'd say they still have a very solid chance at competing for the cup but, like any team, they need a goalie to stay hot. Anyways, I'm feeling rather fanboyish in this thread, but I can't help it. I'm way psyched up about the playoffs. It's going to be an awesome year.
  10. Can anyone fill me in on the last couple minutes? My Tivo cut off with Hurley talking to Libby on the cliff. I take it he didn't jump, but I'd like closure.
  11. The Movies was enjoyable, and I'm one of the few that enjoyed all 10 hours of Fable. This is kinda "meh" news, though, as I don't see how this really affects Lionhead. They were already pretty closely tied to Microsoft.

Nabby in San Jose has won a couple rounds as well, although his job as starter looks pretty weak right now.

The Sharks are actually in a great spot. It looks bad because they are still hovering between 8 and 9, but they've got more games left than all the teams in reach. With seven games, they need to win 4 to really wrap it up. They also need to at least split the 2 with Vancouver. It's a pretty messy situation, but I'd rather be the Sharks than Vancouver right now. Vancouver needs to go undefeated to really keep themselves in it.

Phew, Sharks just technically passed Vancouver to move into 8th. 7 games to go...I don't know if my heart can take this.
  15. It's got a very experienced team behind it, as DAoC was probably the most succesful MMORPG without a huge publisher backing it. I still imagine it will stick to many MMORPG conventions though, even if it changes a few things.
  16. I'm still using the free mount.
  17. Do you want to tell that to Deep Space Nine?
  18. I'm really surprised they are charging PC users for the mods. I kinda get it on the Xbox, although I think Live should just be a bit more and everything except full games should be free. I actually bought the armor on my 360, but that's because I had the extra points lying around. I'm still using Prior Maybell's horse, so now she looks fancy. I'm a bit surprised by all the horse complaints. I think it's rather realistic how they move. At least it isn't just like putting on fast shoes, like in many other RPG's. It feels awkward...like you are sitting on a horse.
  19. I think Firefly needs the Captain and Jane to create the same atmosphere as the series and the movie. The rest of the characters can be replaced, but I think they are crucial. But TNG found a pretty awesome captain replacement...some might say an even better choice than Shatner. Personally I think they are pretty different beasts. Firefly is much more character and dialogue driven, while Star Trek was always based more around literary themes with a healthy dose of sci-fi talk.
  20. I honestly don't know how Daredevil is getting a sequel, that was retched. In fact, the Jennifer Garner spin off was partly a sequel (she was signed to both simultaneously.) You'd think two stinkers would be enough. The Hulk did pretty decent, from what I remember. It had a big budget, so it was probably hard to match, but I don't remember it being a real disappointment at the box office. The Punisher was made pretty cheaply. It didn't take in much, but I doubt it had a huge budget to cover. I'd like to see a sequel, although I wasn't entirely satisfied with the first one. The character development was pretty shallow. They had that great guy with the guitar who seemed like he'd be interesting, and they did nothing with it. Still, Thomas Jane was a great choice.
  21. Some of the art in Strategy guides is cool, in fact I nearly bought the WoW one just for the Penny Arcade strips. Still, I'd rather have surprises all along the way and just search for specific hints when I need them. I just hate when the EB Store guy tells me I should get the guide. Leave me the F- alone you pimply metagamer!

It's really going to come down to the line. I'm watching Chicago beat Colorado and it's very rewarding... Dang, they just tied it with less than a minute remaining. Ah well, San Jose won, so I can go to bed happy.

Kipper had his chance at the number 1 spot in San Jose and he failed miserably. Sutter took a gamble on him and it paid off. I'm very glad he's doing so well in Calgary, but I can't say I'd give up my two goalies for him right now. Nabokov has proven himself with three 30-win seasons and Toskala is coming into his own. I do think that Nabokov will recover. At one point, San Jose had Nabokov, Kiprusoff, Johan Hedberg, and Vesa Toskala. That's some pretty solid goalie depth, but you can only play one at a time.
  24. At first I believed Sega-soldier was a legitimate poster, but after this horrendous plug, I'm convinced he is a plant.
