Should The True Sith Be In Kotor III?
simply yellow replied to Bastilla_Skywalker's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
word up homes, that's as clear as it can be are their any descendants of the sith race left, what I mean is from the hybrids between dark jedi and sith after the collapse of the first sith empire? Are there any sentients left with a smidgen of sith blood in their ancestry?.......probably not... but it would be interesting if there were -

I thought that the sith species, before the were conquered by fallen jedi weren't dark or light side, just strong force users -

Most Powerful Force User Ever
simply yellow replied to Swinny's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Dooku had it easy because Anakin was arrogant and stupid. Had Anakin listened to Obi-Wan it would likely have been a very different story. And Dooku was not toying with Yoda. If Dooku had seen a chance to effectively "behead" the Jedi Council he would not have hesitated for a nanosecond. No, they were testing one another and after finding no major weaknesses Dooku decided to make a strategic retreat. After all, his true concern was getting the plans for the Death Star to Sidious. He was apprenticed to a Sith Lord named Darth Pelagius whom he eventually killed as is the way with the Sith. I don't know much other than that. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Anakin had a second chance to defeat Dooku - and with two lightsabers-, but was humiliated. Obi wan was thoroughly beaten by Dooku. Actually in Episode 3 I think it's Anakin and Palps that gang up to kill Dooku. Except for yoda, nobody can go toe to toe with this guy in a one on one duel. He is the jedi/sith dueling master, So palps first learnt how to use a lightsaber as an adult, not a child? well that discounts his ability all togethor, -

Outside of who is the best 'force user' I"d have to say Count Dooku is the best lightsaber duelest there. Apparently in episode 3 Anakin and Obi Wan defeat him TOGETHOR - and don't forget he totally owned the both of them in Episode 2 (or am I wwrong about this, please corect me if I am), toyed with Yoda until republic re enforcements were about to arrive. It's all about the lightsaber... anyway how did palpitine even learn to use a lighsaber? Who taught him, did he he 'pick it up' on his way to the dark side? If so he would be comparitivley useless with one... -

I did this on the KOTOR 1 forums - nobody will actually post any pics, but it's worth a try. <_<

Hi, can anyone post pics of their Dark side character model heads so we all see what the different choices look like?

Character influence - Meaningless?
simply yellow replied to simply yellow's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Well thanks for the replies, I havn't finished the game yet and i'm 55 hours throuhg it! I wasn't aware you could have diffenerent NPC's in the game, maybe being DS would limmit those choices anyway.... How come you can never seem to influence Kreia enough to change her alignment? i"ve turned Handmaiden into a DS guardian but when do I get to do this for Atton, Bao Dur? -
While influencing your characters to your alignment may change their physical appearence in game/on the character info screen does it actually change the way your party members act. So far Bao Dur and Mira while having been 'turned to the dark side' are still good, still influenced by light side acts etc. I had the impression that they would turn bad in every sense, but oh well just another case of not enough memory is it?

Damn I'm DS so I got rid of her................ is there any other way to get one......and why are the colour crysals so rare in the game? I mean obsidian made a big deal about the new colours and you can hardly ever find any.

What about the silver or dark green colour crystals - do they realy exist?

What ?!?!?!??!?!?!

The PCvsXbox thread revisted.
simply yellow replied to ShadowPaladin V1.0's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
It's all about the GAMES if you ask me. Sure pc's have the greatest graphical capability (duh) - even though a lot of the games end up looking similiar to one another - but it's your prefernce in games that will make the difference. If you like japanese style storybook RPGs (like me) then the ps2 or gamecube is what you need. Final Fantasy, Zelda, Resident Evil 4, most of these games just aren't on pc. Only the xbox seems to lack really good unique titles, which despite being more powerful, makes the xbox kind of redundant ( I'm not biased - I have an xbox just for KOTORn can't affrod a pc ). Despite the outdated hardware, most gamers will admit that consols - as dedicated gaming machines - have been the platforms for some truly original games. -
What's your character build?
simply yellow replied to theguy's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I gather you wasn't too concerned with lack of skills also, alot of people nag that the game is too easy, perhaps they are powergaming, because when i play normally, regardless if i put all my points on DEX, i get hurt alot and fast....so unless you plan to use blasters until you get your saber, DEX can stay on 10. (it would allow you to wear Armour with restrictions on DEX bonuses. I have noticed that i pick up Mandalorian Armour (10-13 Defence 0 DEX Bonus) more often then i pick up a Jedi Robe, which is really annoying. So, thanks to Kotor II's crappy random loot generator, i have gotten bored of force powers, so i tend to put no points in WIS or CHA. (and no, the random loot does not make me wanna play it again to see what i can get the next time...it puts me off) It was cool on Diablo II because your powers that used Mana was never, ever restricted by your armor. I personally find it stupid when Force powers are restricted by Armour (well, non-jedi Armour anyway) because if it blocks your powers, then it would technically make it useless against anyone wearing armour. They could have at least made it easier for Robes and Sabers to be looted and i don't mean to mysteriously loot a lightsaber or a robe off of a droid. (it then gets extremely stupid) If i knew how to mod, i would make a better random loot mod. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You can get flexible heavy armor (def 12 I think) that allows a +3 Dex bonus, but yeah it still would restrict the battle meditation skill. So I havn't got the heavy armor feat yet. Skills? all you really need is awareness - maybe intelligence - and persuade for the conversation options. Also have repair up, cause at the beginning I thought you might need it to repair HK-47. Obviuosely just use the other characters to make upgradeable parts, implants... (I had it perfectly worked out for KOTOR 1. By level 20 my scoundrel 7/guardian 13 with the right items had 29 str, 25 Dex, and 19 Wis, plus plenty of skills) -
What's your character build?
simply yellow replied to theguy's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Torren Onasi - Carths evil brother:... I went for the standard guardian/marauder build Str - 14 Dex - 14 Int - 14 Wis - 12 Char - 10 No need to put points into charisma cause my persuade skill is always maxed, never liked force powers so just enough in wisdom to make any bonus points form items on this attributes worth it. From here on get constitution up to 18 and add the rest to strength, mabe a couple in Dex to get a good bonus..... Prestige class 2 weapon fighting, master flurry With Master Valour + Master Battle Meditation + Fury I can do A LOT of damage. -
It's what there is of the graphics that's often the problem. The 3D game worlds in RPG's just aren't big enough. Just look at a game like Fable - what there is of the grpahics is beutiful - but 3 TOWNS WITH LITERALLY A HANDFULL OF LINEAR PATHS BETWEEN THEM. That's it, that's the whole game 'world'. Often you'll get developers defending it saying the consoles don't have enough memory etc blah blah. this is bs, just look at the GTA games (okay with some loss of texture quality). There's no reason why rpgs cant be broken into large open GTA size areas to explore with load screens between them, none at all. Summoner on PS2 had it, even Zelda on the N64 had it. They are just too lazy to programme for a decent draw distance. While KOTOR is soemwhat better thatn Fable in this ragard, the environments are hardlly open to much exploration. I'm just so sick of the 'look but dont touch' game designs that leave you wanting more.

I haven't finsished the game yet, but it's been patchy so far.... some really nice partts and some others that seem to have been cobbled together in a couple of weeks - like Korriban.....a rush job there. That must have been the last planet on the list before release. But at the moment I'm in the middle of Oderan, which is massive and pretty good so far.... I still feel like a DS thug though, no behind the scenes manipulation emporer style.....
-
It's because the game - the NPC's and the overall direction of the plot - still judges you for being dark side. It's sort of a "tut tut you've been bad" thing that was also in KOTOR 1. YOur made to feel like scum for being bad, when a true dark sdider wouldn't feel this way at all, even if they were...

What's up with the Male Faces in KOTOR2?
simply yellow replied to simply yellow's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I'd be insulted by those faces if I were Asian. the black guy with spikey hair looks ok, a good LS character probably ( yep, this topic's been done...oops :"> ) -
Notice how the male face choices are all so...ugly... and characterless looking? the female look way better, like human beings... unforntunately I'm a striaght guy so.... It was the same in KOTOR 1..... I could only ever stand the mulleted one....now I have to play with a character that looks like some neo nazi skinhead with bad facial hair.... Please obsidian, next time give us some better choices. Yep another whinge topic.
