I still haven't bought the game. I was excited about it around Christmas. Then I wasn't excited about it on release. Then I spent all my money in Mexico. Now I've got a freelancing job fixing teh computars that pays $35 an hour. I'm still not getting it until the Restoration mod is complete. I might end up actually pulling off the Boycott I proposed back when the date is changed out of sheer apathy.

I use my xbox as a multimedia center. I have a boatload of songs on it. Somewhere along the lines of a thousand soungs so far. I use it for my stereo and DVD player. I don't like having 50 different machines in my front room, and it has sufficed quite well. I won't replace it with something that does not have a hard disk. I use my xbox for as a media center far more than I have ever considered using it as a gaming system. I like the games, but they're only part of the whole package. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If you're really crafty, you can turn it into your own personal TiVo, minus the TiVo software that makes it so they can stuff ads in your recorded programs. You can even download program guides off the internets.

Silly boy, you can do the same thing that progam does manually and for free in about five minutes. Yes, I know you have to start up in Safe Mode for the history bits Windows hides.

Foxconn makes all the motherboards for HP, as well as the HP laptops. They also make most of the components on HP servers. All get rock solid reviews. That mobo I got is likely bad, but I got a great package with the mobo. It has the biggest manual I've ever seen for a mobo, a floppy disk with RAID drivers, tons of connectors, and the most feature rich BIOS I have ever seen. There is something to be said for that. It is also a very inexpensive mobo that offers firewire, and the NForce 4 Ultra chipset which rocks all around. It is my favorite chipset aside from SLI. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That's hawt.

Not unless they ramp it down significantly. Lost Coast is being made as a game only for people with really high end machines. Valve are basically taking the engine as far as it can go with it and making everything look fancy. Lots of people who could play HL2 won't be able to play Lost Coast, myself included probably.
