  1. Well I could have gone with water cooling (silent), but I didn't want to mess around with that on my first build.
  2. Actually I've been banned from there around six times. Most of them were trolling accounts, but still.
  3. This thread is so last Sunday.
  4. I was going to point that out but I didn't want to be an ass.
  5. Hey, I still haven't played KotORII, and I'm a gamer. I'm waiting for the restoration patch since I've waited this long anyway.
  6. Eh, because of the overclocking, and wanting to go with the simplicity of air cooling, mine sounds that way already. Then again, the fan I have is the neatoest air cooling solution I've ever seen, though it's for Socket A processors and not applicable in this case. Still though, I'm quite proud, a 3200+ overclock on a 2500+ proc with a locked multiplier isn't easy to do.
  7. That is genius! Have you thought about marketing this invention?
  8. About how many fans would be good for my setup? I've already got a case (listed). The only fan in my "cart" is the one that comes with the CPU. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Mine has two intake (one pulling fresh air into the CPU fan), three exhaust (counting the one on the modded Powmax Powersupply) that's overkill though unless you plan to over clock (like I did). One intake, two exhaust should be good enough. Intake fans aren't quite as important as exhaust because unless your case is an airtight box, there's always going to be air coming in. And I'd just go for the bare minimum, case fans aren't exactly masterpieces of technological engineering, and if you do get a bad one, they're cheap enough you can just run out and buy a new one.
  9. The following conversation took place between a member of the ruling class and myself, they show a unprecedented amount of irresponsibility and unwieldliness of their powars, it shall not go overlooked. so that you can have something to complain about. why else? :D It's too late trying to talk me down now! I'm too smart for your danged 'damage control'. This is going all the way to the top! These quotes are verbatim, unaltered and completely original. We shall not be silenced!
  10. A lawyer to get all the rebates. Also, forego one of the sticks of RAM unless you plan on doing 3D rendering or other heavy graphics work. 1GB is enough for any but the most overkill of gaming rigs....then again that seems to be what you're going for. Fool.
  11. Define ok <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hm, everything has been working for over a year now, it isn't the neatest job, as the wires and cables aren't tied, and I'm lazy and haven't gone in and done it, and I screwed up the mountings a little bit around the optical drives. But like I said, it's working, and I've since overclocked the CPU a few times, I've been satisfied with my endeavour overall, and when I upgrade I'll get a new case and do a neater job.
  12. Eh, you'll never learn if you always farm it out. I just ordered a bunch of parts at the advice of the friendly folks over at Tech Support Guy and then threw them together. It turned out okay.
  13. I just have to ask, how do you know?!! Because like, sure I read Something Awful, laugh with everybody else at the Hentai Game reviews, but never have I gone out and accquired one.
  14. I was working on one of those awhile ago for my dad's girlfriend, nice little machine. Cheaper than buying the components seperately, and since they got bought out by Gateway they use stock parts rather than the refurbed crap. Looking at it that's a newer model, hers had a smaller HDD, and none of the PCI-E, but it had the same processor, I think, mighta been a 3200. Keep in mind you'll be buggering up your warranty if anything does go wrong, and they have those fancy new stickers on the back that mean you can't take everything you added out and pretend like you never touched it. The case should be big enough, and probably has enough ventilation, but I'd advise installing a new PS.
