I guess we PC users will be absent til February
Rosbjerg replied to Kaftan Barlast's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I'm leaving today .. Maybe I'll check back once in a while and see how things are going! but my activites on these boards will be toned down quite a bit in the next 2-3 months .. so thanks for great discussions and generally good manners! (but don't worry) I will definitely be back when I have the game myself! -
my guess would be you live in France .. we grew up with subtitles and you grew up with dubbed films .. of course you prefer the one you grew up with! but dubbed films deprives the audience of an important thing imo, the free english lesson ..
-
yeah I liked it before too .. I always like to see how a discussion can drift off, it gives a good insight into the human psycke ..
-
it makes me twitch if an english product (especially game or movie) is translated to Danish .. urgh I hate it .. but Danish movies in danish are fine.. no translation though! I mean the lips look like they are going haywire and the words don't fit! it's more distracting than pleasing .. by the way Alyt, where are you from?
-
so if the voices in your head tells you to kill someone you do it? .. I know you will follow the cultural guidelines of your upbringing .. but todays religion, or what religion emphasises today is not war .. "turn the other cheak"? unless you totally disregard the second half of the bible you can't justify a war with Christianity!
-
1000 years ago, but not today???!!! So Bush saying that god was advising him to invade Iraq is not? I didn't say I blame religion as a malevolent, self-conscious force, but it is a tool nontheless. You cannot blame cigarettes either, but they facilitate the problem. it's just in my mind .. blaming anything but the person(s) behind the act is unthinkable .. people choose to smoke, who knows why, they die .. people choose to go to war, who knows why, they die .. You need to justify your actions to yourself, and I can see religion is a good excuse for some! but I will always blame the person, and not the ideal he follows .. they made the conscious choice ..
-
I never quite understood why then nations always call for god to pretect them in war. Surely some people are taking advantage of religion to accomplish their own means. yes they do .. but how can you blame religion for that?? seriously .. how? I just can't see it ..
-
true .. 1000 years ago .. not today .. most religions today focus heavily on compassion and respect for those around you! but people can twist the words of the religion to their needs, true .. I just don't see how you can blame religion for that! that's like saying the car is evil because some people use it to kill others with!
-
I don't believe in manipulation .. People always have the choice .. but I see you point, I just don't agree .. and neither do you with me so I guess this discussion is rather futile!
-
Well people are afraid if religion is telling them they gonna go to hell. because they want to believe it .. you can't blame the gun for killing the man .. you blame the man holding the gun!
-
simple psychology says that noone does anything that doesn't benfit them one way or the other .. so again, religion is not to blame .. but the people who let themselves be controlled!
-
I really disagree with blaming religion for anything .. it's what YOU put into it, and YOU are responsible for what you take out as well.. if you kill someone over religion the choice was yours! and your own fault .. religion isn't even responsible for all the good done it it's name either! it's free will that's to blame ..

I think i agree with you on this. It stayed so long becuase the "new" religions: kriistendom, islam and the rest were perfect for people with power and becuase they gave people hope. But now, we don't need them. People just don't realise that. no they were perfect becaust the reversed nature .. and made man feel superior! weak became strong, strong became weak .. those who look after each other are rewarded, while those who sacrifice themselves in pure nature get's nothing but death for it .. you could argue it's a system of control for those in power, but that's just because of people again, not the religion since it implies love and respect for life .. Religion is as needed as ever, since our society is becoming increasingly nihilistic .. People need something to cling their hopes too, this is as relevant as ever! but I would agree with you, if what you meant was that religion needs to reinvent it self to suit modern society ..
-
it's wrong to blame religion for the problems of humanity! only people are to blame for that .. religion is fundamentally a good thing, which tried to bring out the best in us! but some people use it wrong! but that is not religions fault! and Obi-Wan Kenobi, my exsitence is a result of evolution .. my purpose of life is simply life it self, there is no higher meaning dictating our lives .. I believe in the ultimate free will!

I'm not Christian .. so I don't see Jesus as anything but a interesting person who did some strange things about 2000 years ago .. and Jesus would probably be a little cranky if he saw that his birth is reduced to being more about consumerism than celebrating his birth!

KOTOR3 or KOTOR2 Expansion?
Rosbjerg replied to GhostofAnakin's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I would prefer a brand new game .. set such a long time after KOTOR and TSL that they won't need to be too specifik about what happened in the first 2 games! I wouldn't like expansions, because I don't think the story is made with that in mind .. and it's pretty hard to do 100% properly with 4 different endings to choose from all in all (if they take KOTOR in to account) .. So 1-2-3 years and a brand new game -
I don't like Christmas .. and I hate the fact that they are trying to promote American holidays in Denmark!! what do we need Thanksgiving and St. Valentines Day for?? we never had any pilgrims eat turkey with Indians or whatever they did .. just stupid! holidays lost their significance a long time ago ..

The unlockable Akari mentioned
Rosbjerg replied to kumquatq3's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
as he said most have gone off to NWN2 so probably not all that polished .. and I still think my suggestion is the best .. especially if all the Sith Lords turn into dancing Twi'leks and form a band! that would be freaking cool .. -
The unlockable Akari mentioned
Rosbjerg replied to kumquatq3's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
hmm couple of Easter Eggs .. wonder what that could be? Sion turns in to a dancing Twi'lek second time through? -
nah, wouldn't be worth the trip to where ever you live, and the potential jail time .. So I'll let you live .. 213374U : Purchasing a lesser quality product just because one is not able to be patient for two months seems pretty silly to me, but each to his own. the only difference is resolution, so that's really a matter of taste .. I wouldn't go so far as to say "lesser quality" .. that's being a bit hard on the poor X-Boxers!

Buddah Says all paths are equal.
Rosbjerg replied to JediMafia's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
maybe it's that meteor they are afraid of .. 2028 thing .. although 16 years late! that would ceartinly fall under the destruction-catagory of fire! or flood if it hits the water, which is more likely.. -
Is the water still an invisible barrier?
Rosbjerg replied to JediMafia's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
in the words of the good people from "Rockstar" on the same "fault" in GTA "Gangsters don't swim" .. neither do Jedis apperantly .. and why should they? do you have a particular love for water? -
