What you did today
Take a system model for Zombies, infact something Dead Rising did well - one lead zombie, and a bunch of followers. Break 'em into small groups. The only difference is their motivations, speed, strength etc... etc... Further proof that the London riots is indeed a zombie outbreak. Hmm better start packing my survival gear. Also I did absolutely nothing today, as evident.

What are you playing now?
Multiplayer is divided into co-op, which is fun (you play the campaign together or against each other), then normal battles (unit selection and fighting) and then clan warfare, where you have to conquer a Japan in a risk like game and the battles are then resolved by the clans fighting them.

The AI is still a little retarded but it's much better than the previous game (especially in the campaign). I played a about 50 hours after release and then I haven't really touched it since. It has the charm of the old game, but it's a little too short (200ish turns) and there aren't really any good mods yet - which is what keeps me playing.

Still, they are paying for everyone else - I can live with a player killing everyone if he's actually willing to pay 500$ for it.

Good evening
Pretty much, some of the regulars have moved on to greener pastures - new ones have arrived. All in all it's a somewhat older and more quieter forum now.

Space Station 13 - it's hilarious. Ugly indie game, where every player assumes a role (from AI to lowly assistant) and then try to fulfil their jobs to the best of their abilities. Of course with all the grievers and idiots this game usually goes completely insane within minutes. Couple that with space wizards and murderous mimes and you got yourself a really wacky game. I was playing an assistant and was trying to repair some wires (i.e sabotage the station) when I was electrocuted - lucky for me a guy comes by, wakes me up.. and then steals my shoes. Then suddenly the AI goes rouge and murder and mayhem entails.

On consoles right? Because I haven't been able to find a trial version for PC.

Favorite cities
Stockholm is probably to most historically interesting city in Scandinavia (at least from 1600+) - with many buildings from the 16th century and up still preserved. Copenhagen is good if you want a more provincial big-city feel, but you need a local to help you find the good spots. I'd also recommend Warsaw or other old cities in Poland, there are some very beautiful cities and many interesting sites (especially WW2 related).

Fredrich Schlosser, from the 19th century? Because if so - I can tell you that we've learned quite a bit since then.

Yeah, they flourished and became the empires were - where do you think Europe would be if the Romans had stayed in their own pond? It was when their culture and society started to stagnate that they were invaded by the more vibrant Germans. Lucky too, because out of that our current ideas of liberty and democracy was born. Incidentally, the next ~400 years were ruled by culturally conservatives.. Look how that turned out. Thus your entire argument has failed, because you failed to grasp history.

And you fail to realize that Christianity has also purged all differences - where Europe was once a myriad of different faiths and cultures, now we have a monogamous mass with only the most superficial differences. The clergy decided what was right and the lords waged an ever constant war on one another. This was about 600 years ago for us - and at that time the middle east and Islam was a beacon of tolerance and science compared to us. Yet, you seem to celebrate what we did and scorn them for doing the same? They need a revolution, just as we did - a renaissance. It's a shame that they have become what they have - and they are where they are not because of their faith, but because of the constant invasions of Christians, Mongols and other lower civilizations who grew fat and enlightened on their behalf. Now it's easy to say that they are backwards and dangerous, but simply leaving them at that will never change the situation - we must invade them with ideas and example instead of bombs, if we shut them out then we are just creating a bigger problem for ourselves in the future. The more we ignore it, the poorer and more extreme their society will become. But just so we are clear, I do not advocate mass immigration of illiterate and poor people - I firmly believe that they are much better off staying at home, if we help them out building a better one.

You need to read up on your history pal - you're glorying the past a little too much.. Being rich, back in the day, meant you had to act with some dignity, but the vast majority was piss poor and downright nasty. Funny enough, who do you think most of us today descend from? This is actually my biggest beef with nationalistic conservatism - the most outspoken of those who adhere to this ideology seem to forget that culture is anything but static and that most of your ideas now would have been bordering treason and heresy not a 100 years ago. And that most of what you hold so dear now was born out of cultures meeting and interacting. The middle east today certainly has parallels to Europe in the middle ages and how lucky we were that we had the time to develop a functioning society and culture one brick at the time.. It's our (the West's) responsibility to advance this planet as a whole, not sacrificing ourselves in the meantime of course - but who, in their right mind, would ever advocate that? Islam can not go from where it is today to what we want it to be, just like Christianity took a very long time to finally acknowledge that holding people back is actually not a good idea. But we can speed up that progress, not by military and narrowminded force, but by meeting ignorance with knowledge and show the poor and moderates that we are not imperialistic bogeymen. In fact, I often wonder why conservatives hate Islam - they seem to love what you guys do. Family values, strict morality and a burning desire to keep the status quo.

More strange than funny. a bad case of transient global amnesia. It's like something out of a bad Hollywood movie.

Why is it that they don't marry with other immigrant residents if there are so many of them? Socrates would be proud.

I just wonder...what genre would that be? The sci-fi-action augmentation-oriented roleplaying game genre. Or SFAAORPG.

I'd be very pissed if I moved to America and they told me I had to move to a small town outside a city I wanted to live in, because the immigrant quota was filled.

Is it curious? To some who sympathises perhaps, but to everyone else it's very obvious that anti-Islamic/anti-Christian/anti-Judaic attitudes more often than not stem from ignorance, fearmongering and hate fueling. And is therefore quite understandably dismissed as such. You see, if you stand outside of the whole religion thing - you see how, 'in their heart' all religions are beautiful and inspiring, but so often the loudest and most stupid are allowed air time.. It's the same with all of the desert religions. And I understand why you fear them, I do - because they challenge your feeling of being right.. That just doesn't make it right though. Understand that embracing difference is not the same as being assimilated by it.
