  1. F--k, s--t, b---h, etc. are all very old words. From a historical realism point of view, they are not really out of place in a medieval setting at all.
  2. I guess if you want to remove the swearing that's up to you. I mean, it won't do anything about the dead child floating in the river who told me he was murdered by thugs when he tried to stop a rape, but whatever. Have fun with it.
  3. There's a whole lot more than just the swearing. It's a mature game, not just a game with curse words in it.
  4. I only got the option to ask for extra after I had turned down taking her money.
  5. The point is that it's not somewhat useful. It's not useful at *all*. 5 copper every quest makes literally no difference of any sort; it might as well not exist as far as game effects goes. Fun easter egg, maybe; cool lore, perhaps; but for a quest reward where you have to sacrifice some other reward to get it, it's not cool.
  6. How do I explain this? I don't hate Joe Schmow working in Cubicle #634 on Project X. I *do* hate the corporate entity that he works for. I can hate EA and not hate the employeeds of EA, because EA--as an entity--is a separate thing from the people working their. You don't need a hivemind to create that, you just need to understand that an organization is not the same as it's employees.
  7. Well, not to be pedantic but legally a corporation is in fact a separate entity from the people who make it up. That's literally the entire purpose of incorporating--the entity that you create is legally a distinct person with it's own legal personality. If I say I hate EA, that does not mean I hate the people who make up EA because the two are distinct, separate entities.
  8. That's what I'm curious about. As it is, they kind of suck.
  9. I hate EA, the person. You know, since corporations are people now, I can do that.
  10. And yet you are talking as if the company stayed the same over time, while it didn't...Ray Muzika isn't even working there anymore. So no Obsidian doesn't owe jack to Bioware. Not everybody left. There are still people there who worked there before. The company changed when EA bought it; blame EA and the bull**** they've done to Bioware, blame Bioware, blame whoever you want. But to act like Bioware is the worst enemy to RPG's in the world--to ignore the great work they've done and their brilliant contributions to our hobby--is just ignorance and spite. There's nothing more to it. I love Bioware and I love the games they've made. I don't play their more recent games because they're not my type. That's all I have to say.
  11. Bioware is the reason Pillars of Eternity exists, as well. You can't look at just one side of things and make opinions from that. You misspelled Black Isle You mispelled Bioware. You spell it like this: "Bioware designed and invented the Infinity Engine to make BG and BG II, and the engine was then used by Black Isle to make other games--these games together are the RPG era which we loved and are entirely dependant on Bioware making those two great games and their engine being used to make others." Spelling is important!

  13. I mean..it's only 5 extra copper per stronghold turn. I kind of wonder what I would have gotten if I hadn't chosen that dialogue option.
  14. I hit the Raedrics Hold bug, but had a save file just before entering the bugged map. I also equipped the Drinking Horn of Moderation before I knew about that bug. I haven't hit *any* of the other bugs at all. Haven't done anything special to avoid them, though. I don't play with rangers, and I've saved many times in areas where I recruited companions--my stronghold (where I recruited Kana) for example. I dunno, either I'm lucky or these bugs are rarer than people think.
  15. I'm 72 hours in and I haven't experienced any of these game-breaking bugs, so there's that. The bugs in question do exist, but they are very very far from universal.
  16. Wow, man, really? They congratulate and send cookies out of jealousy? Yeah, I get that. Every time I'm super bitter and jealous I do nice things for the target of my envy, because that's how I express dislike and sour grapes. By being awesome to people. *smh*
  17. D&D had death from massive damage, too; basically anytime you were hit for more than 60% of your health, you had a roll to see if you died.
  18. I got all that, but I picked the wrong option to get it--now I have to figure out who the animancer is all on my own.
  19. Basically the problem is simply that the game doesn't have an alternate script for high-might casters, and therefore people that I can only assume are sitting at the computer with their DMG out are screaming "CASTERS SHOULDN'T BE STRONG!" with absolutely no thought to how the system and world actually work.
  20. I found these during my normal habit of exploring everything and looting everything that isn't marked stealing (and some things that are). They went directly to the question section of my stash, but I have no idea what they're for!
  21. I totally missed that dungeons existence. Came back at level 5 when I read about it on the forums.
