  1. They are all still inescapably designed around a tiny lead figure having to look distinct and impressive from across the table. Sometimes they look cool up close anyway, but when taken out of their original element the result is usually poor. Ohh and don't forget about the Orcs, they are almost lame enough to drag the whole franchise down with them.
  2. My dad only had 4 kids by 4 different women.
  3. Speaking of space, has anyone played the adons to Sins of a Solar empire. I still have the game, although I thought it was a bit simplistic and streamlined for the multiplayer experience to begin with. Space RTS, fine, Empire building multiplayer... ehh whats the use. This game is trying to be both and succeeding at neither.
  4. No one actually goes through the trouble of declaring war anymore, they just start shooting.
  5. Also Grand Torino, yesterday. I thought it would be some emo family film, turned out hilarious.
  6. NWN got pretty good with the various adons, NWN2 couldn't have much in the way of exploration because the engine couldn't handle it.
  7. During my stint in guildwars I purposely wore poorer quality armor because it was the only style I could stand looking at, but this, is much much worse.
  8. The skill point system was certainly poorly thought out. I remember purposely not choosing the skills I wanted to use the most as major skills, that way I would have the maximum 3x5 ability score points per level up. Lockpicking was just agility, or was it intelligence, training to me, I always carried around the maximum number of picks. Before I could afford that I never bothered with locks, as there was never anything but random generated crap behind them, and the random generated crap got better with higher levels.
  9. Oblivion is pretty decent, the main quest runs out of steam and the rest becomes slowly pointless after you are done trekking around discovering stuff, but that happens in every Bethesda game, until it does you have fun.
  10. T4. It's crap, just like everyone says.
  11. I wouldn't know, I haven't read any reviews on Oblivion. Shivering Isles was pretty good though. I had fun on my first play through of Oblivion as well. Not fantastic or anything, just adequate. And yes of course, trusting game reviews made for commercial purposes is a mistake. Too much mutual dependence between publisher and game site. I take it most game purchasers have figured this out already and only read the reviews for the screen shots and gameplay descriptions.
  12. I'm so hardcore I stay awake longer than my insomnia! No, it's a real pain in the ass, anyone who has ever suffered from the real deal will tell you. Fortunately I respond well to pills.
  13. Would have been easier to dodge out when he first mentioned it was a sunday, say you had plans, whatever. Too late now, unless some family emergency could magically pop up.
  14. When my insomnia gets too bad I stay awake the whole night and the next day as a sort of cure. It does require that I have nothing scheduled though, even though my body isn't tired my brain goes into power saving mode and functions at around half capacity.

Waht... Scans post for penises, batman and boots.
  17. I wrote the first sentence as I was reading the link, I probably wouldn't have by the time I was finished. I don't agree that individual rights have anything to do with the definition of Capitalism except in a very general sense, or when held up against an extreme opposite. Individual rights is more the purview of (economic) Liberalism, which is maybe what Capitalism.org means by Capitalism, who knows.
  18. So I take it you exclude democracies from the category of statism seeing as how the people can reject their leaders and their policies. The definition itself appears to me to be soaked in ideology. What tax rate and redistribution level constitutes slavery ? Also calling Capitalism a political system is a secondary meaning, the first is always the Capitalist market system, this often leads to further confusion when people forget to mention the difference.
  19. I think what is meant by the comparison is that they called themselves national socialists, and instigated a wide range of public building programmes to get people in jobs. That's the classical Keynesian theory, before there was any such thing of course, and with the understanding that it was mostly a ruse to prepare the country for conquest.
  20. Could just as easily be Mon Ami, as long as concord is maintained.
  21. I started prepping for my oral japanese exam today.
  22. If Ridley Scott is on board as rumor suggests why on earth doesn't he just make a new script and film that, or why not the Alien 3 script that was discarded in favor of the lackluster prison colony story. That would be about a million times more interesting than watching a makeover of something I have seen several times already.

I'm happy to have this option. The fact is, we'd just end up with two different ceremonies. One would be civil and the other would be religious. It's not really the business of government to reform the homophobic philosophies of many religious organizations. What is important is that the union between two people is equal under the law regardless of sex. There are churches out there who will join a gay couple and call it marriage, the heterocentric (is that a word) churches do not retain exclusive copyright on the word, and people who are offended by it basically just need to get over themselves.
  24. About time... Ehh. why can't they try and think of something new instead of regurgitating a perfectly good movie with no other reason than CGI improvements.
