  1. Have the level system be less linear like Fallout or Vampire the Masquerade. So that you can choose all the awesome skills at the start, or at the end (making the game harder or easy at your discretion), and you can go to the hard or easy areas whenever you want.
  2. It's good to see that Obsidian is thinking about being DRM-free, but I'd like a concrete commitment.
  3. This. Single-class fighters were the most BORING choice in IE games. And single-classed thieves weren't much better. Edit: I guess 3E improved things a bit.
  4. Well, I now know what a real top looks like.
  5. This. DRM. **** DRM. Steam is the best form of DRM out there besides no DRM at all.
  6. Please give us a DRM-free option, Obsidian! All the other Kickstarters for games have. Don't set a bad example. With the money you make right at the start from us on Kickstarter, you have no excuse to be worried about "piracy killing sales". We don't want DRM. I would also urge Obsidian to join the Kicking It Forward initiative: http://kickingitforward.org/
  7. For anybody skeptical about Torchlight 2, please read this: http://au.pc.gamespy.com/pc/torchlight-ii/1226083p1.html
  8. Hey Obsidian codemonkeys, Will Project Eternity have crates in game? Smashable crates? Smashable crates with loot? Smashable crates with loot that is sometimes maybe really good? Smashable crates that goblins burst out of? Smashable crates that robots explode from? Smashable crates that are actually mimics and eat your character for instant death requiring a reload if you get too close? Please include crates. I need to know about this game's crate credentials before I commit any money.
  9. Consoles are evil. Unless they're Valve consoles that can accept a keyboard and mouse as input. Or tongue movements. I'd accept either.
  10. Haha, fully sick bro! I would give you $100, but my partner wouldn't like that. So $20 will do for now.
  11. I am all for a Linux version, I use Linux everyday, Windows rots on my main computer's harddrive in between occasions when I need it (generally because I want to play a game). But I have to ask: is this really what we wanted? Steam on Gnu/Linux? (yeah I just went all Richard Stallman on you there) . Sure, Obsidian, make a Linux version, but please make it as close to the free software spirit as you can. You wont gpl Onyx and the tools
  12. Just take a look at the pie chart of how much contributions from Linux users contribute towards sales for the Humble Bundles. Linux users love you too Obsid! And we're more willing to shell out money for games (source: Humble Bundle)! Don't forget that Steam will be on Linux and out of beta by the time you ship.
  13. I'm sorry, but I don't suffer racism well. And I shouldn't have to.
  14. I would love to play Torchlight 2 with you MP. MP is no different to SP for Diablo-clones. You just need to know the hotkeys for: chat and party (sometimes you're automatically partied anyway). I don't know what system Torchlight will use, but since we live in the era of the Cloud, they will probably host their own servers (or buy hosting). Which means that you just click 'connect' and either join one of the public games that shows up. Or you make a game and put a password on it to make it private to your friends. Microphones still aren't essentially (and probably never will be) for MP gaming. But they ARE fun and useful. I should buy one. I've already purchased Torchlight 2 on Steam. So we'll MP over that (assuming you also use Steam). My username is: euclideanalgorithm
  15. I want to play as Gabe Newell.
  16. What languages does Obsidian use? Just LUA and C++?
  17. I definitely consider myself superior to the people you just described. Anyone willing to kill because they believe so much in their ethnicity, religion, culture, or history belongs in a mental asylum. It's so sad that there are entire countries full of such people (and I blame nurture here, not nature), but it doesn't change the fact that many of the citizens in places like Serbia and Libya, for example, need long-term mass counselling by trained professionals. Impossible of course, which leaves time and the innocence of younger Serbs and the Serbs not born yet as the only healers. Don't get me wrong I thing the USA is walking a fine line itself (more so than any other developed country) - but the USA is still so superior to any country whose government or society encourages violence to "protect societal fabric" (this phrase is one of the most insidious and evil I've ever heard) that it's not even a contest. Now enough of this - I'd like it if you took your Serbian nationalist Muslim hating to another forum - maybe the KKK or something would suit you. Ever think about easing off the pills and booze? Or just learning to read? I was pointing out the entire issue from their perspective just a few posts above, even supplied a justification of sorts, but then you're too self righteous to notice that. There are all sorts of people in this forum, but man, you really have issues you need help with. That's a nice way to spin it, and if people on Obsid feel that your treatment of Muslims and Kosovars in your posts has been fair, and unbigoted then I guess I don't really fit in here. I suspect I'm not too out of place, though.

  20. Wait, you're telling me these people are OUTBREEDING us? I hope the rate of conversion to atheism per family is higher than the birth rate! I know you are joking around, but atheism is never going to win the numbers game here. The main problem is it doesn't offer any support network. Who does an atheist turn to when times are tough? People want that sense of community, and that seems to be the antithesis of atheism. Errr, family and friends like everyone else? Clearly you haven't met my family The numbers still don't look all that good for atheism, even in a country like France, only 30% claim no beliefs at all. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demographics_of_atheism Also, atheism is predominantly a young man's game. It's easy to claim there is no God in your 20's, but when you start wrestling with your own mortality, the church offers quite a bit of comfort. Maybe once science can figure out eternal life or cryogenic freezing, we'll see a big uptick in atheism. Seeing US Americans talk so naively about atheists and secular humanists is always rather funny, even if a bit sad. And you offer no exception.
