  1. It could mean you're sociopathic (typically characterised by selfishness and narcissism), it could mean you just don't feel strong emotional response to things but are otherwise normal (usually due to desensitisation), it could mean you already got over her death before she died, it could mean you simply don't have a problem with death (think for example a person who is 100% absolutely CONVINCED heaven is waiting for everyone after death), it could mean you have Asperger's syndrome or some other Autism-spectrum disorder (I've discussed a similar situation with a friend of mine who has AS). If this is you, don't beat yourself up over it. Even if your situation matches the worst of the above scenarios - sociopathy - it doesn't mean you're a bad person (not by default at least, though you might be) your brain is just wired differently.
  2. Really, it seems same-old, same-old - quite consistent.
  3. It means the South Koreans didn't want to jump to conclusions without a thorough investigation - which took place over several months, and was party to by multiple other countries and bodies. As far as I know the Cheonan did know it was being attacked - just too late - as a distress call was sent off saying they were being attacked. Moreover at least one of the attacking subs was a new piece of stealth technology. Are you saying the South Koreans deliberately killed 46 of their sailors (with a North Korean torpedo), because no enemy could possibly attack in that area? This is borderline conspiracy nut nonsense dude.
  4. I hope your government has told the Yanks to piss off.
  5. That's incorrect: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ROKS_Cheonan_...on_Group_report NK subs were found leaving and returning to a port in the area before and after the attack.
  6. IMHO, this feeling happens because you play by yourself. It evaporates when you play with others.
  7. You forgot the fact that they found an exploded NK submarine torpedo in the area of the wreckage which matched the ballistics...
  8. Either? What, now you're admitting you haven't taken one? Besides covering lots of combinatorics in maths extension 2 for my year 12 HSC, I took the following stats courses at ANU: http://studyat.anu.edu.au/courses/STAT2001;details.html http://studyat.anu.edu.au/courses/STAT2008;details.html Why does this always come back to credentials for you Wrath? This is an Internet forum. You have no way to verify what I just posted, and we have no way to verify your claims you've gone to university. What we do have to go on, however, is a thread chock a block full of your posts containing elementary mistakes about probability.
  9. North Korea is always threatening to bomb someone. The day they actually do it is the day they get steamrolled and the whole area becomes more peaceful. They've caused Chinas massive headaches - now they've got the US military training on their doorstep and treading all over their supposed "emerging superpower" status (which is garbage anyway - they're no more an emerging superpower than India or Brazil). And there's nothing the Chinese hate more than looking like they can't handle their own affairs. Then again, maybe if the Chinese did something about North Korea this wouldn't be happening.
  10. That's because it is you. The whole thread has been the Obsidian Forums vs Wrath of Dagon on matters of probability from the start, and Hurlshot doesn't have to be a maths guru to be able to observe that.
  11. It's good advice, but it's not always that easy.
  12. I'd prefer if it didn't I think, but yes, it will. The party might be Fallout-like, though (not player controlled).
  13. In Diablo you hold the mouse button down, you don't keep clicking. And a lot of skills were multi-target, AOE, or auto-target, so you didn't need to change targets much at all.
  14. Blizzard games are always fine to transfer in that manner.
  15. Got it. On as blackzorlag. Sweet, see you tonight maybe? Again, what's your timezone? I can always just add you and hope for the best, but the trouble is I'm at work 9-5 then 10-6 today and tomorrow. Free all day on the Saturday and Sunday (Aussie Sat and Sun) though!
  16. Yes. On topic: I'm mildly amused by the fact that the first new Valve release after the much-vaunted Mac version of Steam is not available on Mac. I realise that this is due to the nature of the project, and Portal 2 is indeed supposed to be the first winmac game, but still. I intentionally keep my windows partitions tiny + the pain of rebooting to it, so I'll skip this for now, no matter how much fun it looks. You're surprised they didn't port the free, mod based niche game that they'll get no profit from to a platform that has a tiny playerbase? Right... Mac users sense of entitlement is only rivaled by their smugness There was nothing smug about his post. Yours on the other hand man... was just a tad off.
  17. I can see why the Octopus was tentative. Once you ink a deal with the Russian Syndicate, if you mess up, you can bet you will end up swimming with the fishes. Haha, that was brilliant! It gave me a big grin.
  18. Agreed! I think we can blame taks for that.
  19. Here's what I did: 1) bought it from the Blizzard site) 2) downloaded it over a torrent (faster) 3) discovered the torrent version accept CD keys of a different length 4) downloaded the game again (still over torrents, but the correct digital download version with longer CD keys this time) 5) tried to patch, failed 6) downloaded the patch from Blizzard's website manually and ran it 7) played and enjoyed the game :D So to summarise: 1) if you buy the digital version, your CD key won't work with older versions of the D2 installer (most of the torrents are the older version) 2) automatic patching will always fail - download it manually here: http://us.blizzard.com/support/article.xml...articleId=20758
  20. It's solely to prevent spam bots. You can add a game demo or a free game to your account (Alien Swarm) and it should be fine.
  21. I would buy an Obsidian g-string and wear it proudly.
  22. Heathen, the latest patch is an official no-CD crack from Blizzard. http://us.blizzard.com/support/article.xml...articleId=24954 If you downloaded it from the Blizzard website, you shouldn't need to worry about the CD at all - just patch to 1.13 and away you go...
  23. Do what I'm doing: don't buy Fallout 3, buy Fallout: New Vegas.
  24. I dunno buddy - first we should sort out timezones. Right now (check forum time for this post) it is 5:30pm. I'm about to get off work, hit the pub with my boss, then crash thoroughly in bed as I have had 2 hours sleep - bloody insomnia. What country and state do you live in? It's nearly 1am in California and nearly 9am in London.
  25. I think the real gem of this thread is that Dagon is convinced God is fiddling with the lottery results.
