People like you don't deserve internet access. Or oxygen.

I'd be blown away. I'm just not sure an earthly developer is capable of that kind of awesomeness, though.

Obsidian's Facebook Page
Yeah, I'm stoked Facebook, of all the stupid things it has done, at least hasn't lowered itself to creating a global visible registered network, or worse, global visible registration optional network; country networks are a good compromise. And heaven help it if it ever allows embedded songs to play in a person's profile. Uhg, myspace.

What you did today
I've said it before. Sometimes the situation is just overwhelming and you perceive the only way things can get better/normal is if you break up with the person. Was it true? I still don't know. Oh well, you move on.

The new European constitution, part deux
While that's kind of true, it isn't that clear cut. There's a very large number of people in Portugal that are against the EU. EU wasn't the only reason, but it was a major contributor to my leaving Europe behind and going elsewhere (you know the old saying, if you hate it so much here, why don't you just leave?) (insatiable curiosity was the other reason) Grass is greener, hey? And was it greener here?

The new European constitution, part deux
The leaders of Europe wouldn't dare expel a member state. What if Ireland proved it could prosper outside the union? I don't think Ireland can, to be fair. It's got a massive amount of economic benefit from membership. No, the thing is Ireland's economy is based in the post-industrial sector - IT and scientific research.

How did you get into the gaming industry?
Thanks for your reply and thanks to everyone at Obsidian for taking their time to post on here. It's very much appreciated and it really does help out people like myself who are interested in infiltrating the games industry. I checked your course. Gosh it was hard to find. You'd think a university would invest in a proper website. Anyway, you get accredited as a Professional computer scientist and covers pretty much typical comp sci concepts, which is good. List here: http://www.ballarat.edu.au/fees/current/st...p;MajorCode=AAU Hey guys, you all talk about modding. So is that really the best way to get into the industry? What if you'd been working on open source projects with a team and things like Subversion - would that stand out or not?

That argument gets less and less valid every time I hear it. Wikipedia is a peer-review system with millions of eyes on it. Not only do edits get fixed, but vandalism isn't permanent and if you are concerned about validity, just check the page history and talk page. Not to mention the references. Wikipedia is fine source of information and it's fine to link to it. It just shouldn't be your only source (nor should you use it in academia - instead use the sources cited).

Was that your only way to opt out? I imagine it'd have been better to leave on good terms...

Today I finished the regular expression learning programme I outlined in this blog entry. It was quite fun, and I really like wxPython as far as GUI programming goes. Once I've finished off the programme's Info function tomorrow, I'll upload the source and hopefully an executable copy. Check out the screenshots in that blog entry. Especially the last one.

Yep, that's a very good point.

I'll keep that in mind...

US Presidential Elections
Wise words. We're living in an era of cynicism right now, it oft seems. Not in Australia, really. We've had about 15 years of prosperity and success. It will be interesting to see how we fare the next 5 years; what goes up must come down... or at least stabilise to equilibrium (more likely scenario). But yeah, it certainly seems Europe has an era of cynics, from my perspective as an observer. I'm concerned about how Europe will handle it's drastic population ageing and population implosion issues. Agreed.

No, see, that's why I suggested a stable loan instead. I'm not saying "don't have the money? Tough". But Wals says loans are hard to get in the UK, so I can understand CC's a bit more in that case.

Good luck getting any other form of unsecured credit. Credit cards are perfectly fine so long as you treat them with due care and attention. I've totally run off them for short periods in teh past, and would have missed some crucial life opportunities without that option. Well, that's why I save my money. Why do you think getting a loan is hard, BTW? Oh, and that's the argument I hear people use about drugs. I'd use it myself, except for the fact that I know many people don't use due care and attention (with drugs or credit cards).

No, GIMP isn't CPU or memory intensive. http://www.gimp.org/windows/

Download GIMP and do it yourself. It's free and open source. Bit of a steep learnign curve at first, but has all the needed functionality. Assuming you didn't use anti-aliasing. If you did, go back to redo the rotation without it.

Plagiarism
Plagiarism. Should be closed down. Yeah, it's annoying how many ESL students plagiarise. It's a problem over here in Aus where we have one of the biggest international student populations in the world (at least by percent intake).

He's right, though. Nothing wrong with cards, but use a debit card - that way it's your own money. If you really want a loan, take one out. Avoid credit cards.
