  1. Funny you would bring up floods and tornadoes for in the last two years we have had plenty. I think Australian did something wrong last year because God's really punishing us this year.
  2. Every communist is a socialist, but not every socialist is a communist. To put it shortly socialism is an economic system and communism is a political system. S
  3. Assuming FO: NV is incompatible with the original FO3 editor (I hopse so), it would require trivial changes to FO3 content to make it compatible with FO: NV.
  4. This is kind of a non-issue for me. Personally, I don't care, but I do know some folks want to be able to do it. The only reason that I can see putting killable children in the game is for certain role-playing preferrences and for some sort of continuity. This ranks right up there with sex in games. I don't personally care about it and I don't understand the depth of feeling attached to it. But, hey, I hate romances in games which seems to be really popular. I don't do it, but at the same time the fact that I can do it adds an extra level of realism to the game - to know that all possibilities are, well, possible. By itself this is probably trivial, but lots of decision similar to this (i.e. mature ones) can combine together to really alter the atmosphere of the game. Anyway, I digress. Or do I?
  5. P.S. I have had 4 beers and my coding excels. Here is proof: http://xkcd.com/323/ P.S. P.S.: I have no idea how much 4 beers is in turns of blood alcohol conctration, but I imagine it's between 0.1% and 0.2%.
  6. You and me, a bottle of absinthe, good times. I promise no gay sex.
  7. More postal workers? You cam manufacture CDs of the music in small quantities in shops. The equipment is only slightly larger than a standard desktop PC. It's extremely expensive for large quantities (e.g. 1000 CDs, let alone 100,000).

  9. Daaaaave is a good name for a dragons.
  10. I just modified my nVidia graphics drivers to make my monitor display blank black strips on the edges of the monitor whenever a programme runs in non-wide-screen resolution. Woot, no more stretched old games!
  11. IIRC Venezuela is allied with other left governments like Bolivia, Paraguay, Ecuador, Nicaragua & Honduras. They're not powerful, but I suppose they're numerous. Where? I'd be happy for you to point it out, especially since communism is a subset of socialism, but I doubt I even made the 'mistake' of refering to the superset where I meant the subset. I think it's more probable that your understanding of socialism is confused. Most forms of socialism are vile and dangerous (whether communism or some random form of perpetual revolution). The only mildly acceptable form to my mind is socialist democracy (Venezuela, but its swiftly drifting off the tracks to pure socialism).
  12. Cheers, I'll try that. Edit: couldn't find 'dynamic contrast'. I set Overdrive to 0 from 60.
  13. Yeah. I actually got work done.
  14. It's funny because a) he craves Obama's recognition and praise and b) he won't get anywhere without regional allies, and Brazil and co are quite fond of America these days. Queue another Belarus?
  15. Social democracy. Venezuela is a socialist democracy. Wikipedia has definitions for each. The fact that Venezuela is still marginally a democracy is the reason it would be inappropriate to do as Monte Carlo suggests. Agreed. But I don't think you even need to be anywhere near socialism to benefit from social democracy (see Australia, Britain, New Zealand, Canada, Western Europe).
  16. I'm not sure I like it either. Although I did my first online purchase recently and it went off without a hitch - bought an Apple PC from their store online with my debit MasterCard (I hate credit cards). I wouldn't mind doing it again, although I'm loathe to pay for postage and handling (it was free with my Mac). But I'm smart enough to know that I can't do anything to stop that digitalisation trend, and I'm not sure it'll be such a bad thing in the end anyway (less wasteful packaging for example).
  17. Chavez tries to silence the sole remaining truly independent news service. http://edition.cnn.com/2009/WORLD/americas...la.globovision/ Damn socialist morons. http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=206...&refer=news And Chavez decided to randomly take over some private mining companies, causing the Venezuelan stock market to plummet. Again, socialist morons.
  18. Look, if there was reason to be concerned, I would be, but I hardly think we can cry "monopoly!" on this. TuneCore has plenty of competition from other similar services, as the article states. Google has competition from Yahoo (enough to keep it on it's toes - Yahoo has roughly 20% of the search market). Amazon has competition from traditional publishers and if they don't like that Amazon's digital model is so successful, why they can just create their own to copy it, can't they? The only real potential source of problems is Google's book licensing deals, but I've been following that on and off and it's as though Google bends over backwards to please libraries and authors. I certainly think the goal of archiving books that would otherwise be lost to the sands of time is worth some discomfort to libraries, anyway.
  19. What's this got to do with Fallout? I will strike you down.
  20. Yeah but Fallout 2's got an increasingly bad reputation so I need to jump in whenever someone is talking ill about it on the internet Fallout 2 has a bad reputation? First I've heard of it.
  21. I think you need a better word filter.
