  2. Double what they got from kickstarter minus fees. The actual gam's budget was about 2-2.5 M $. Double that and its 5 millions(which is the actual number Fargo said in the last interview)
  3. That's a good list, you left out Risen 3 though? And remember you don't have to worry about DA:I once I play it I'll endorse and approve it for you, so no need to get other opinions I have zero interest in Risen3/Witcher 3/Fallout 4 and i don't intend to play them. There are other games i'm hopefull about like Underail and Dead state, but the OP asked for 3 games and i listed more than that number already. If you can also manage to convice EA to sell the game outside Origin, i'll take you on your offer If you don't mind me asking why don't you want to play Witcher 3, why deny yourself that gaming experience? Many things, but to keep it short, i'll give you bullet-points. I dislike FP/ Third Person OTS view in games in General, plus i dislike action combat as well. The only reason i liked Witcher was it had a Top down camera (however limited). Witcher 2 was a huge disapointment for me in all fronts( even the setting became more generic/boring) except story. And i honestly believe that story (the only thing CDPR has going for itself) will be hugely hurt by their focus to outskyrim Skyrim. The "bigger than Skyrim" "can go anywhere" "see that island? you can swim to it" hype leaves me cold.

  5. DOS (still waiting for August patch before i start it) W2 (it will fill the time until PoE comes out plus a month or two for PoE to be completely patched) PoE (no explanation needed, as soon as it's patched, i would throw any game and start playing PoE) Age of Decadense (hopefully it will come out by then) DA:I (if people i trust approve of it, AND if i can find it outside Origin, i'm not in a huge hurry to play it)
  6. Remove the first two as they have nothing in common with the others, then put Avellone first. The rest are in the correct order.(not that any of them is exceptionaly good as a novelist)
  7. Burn the heretic! Burn! Burn! Burn!
  8. Uhm no. Per the head of Larian themselves Divinity: Original Sin had a budget of around 5 million euro's which is more than 6 million US dollars. Obsidian had a budget of about 4.5 million USD. So Larian had at least a million more to play with, combined with the fact that they had their own in house engine to use which saved tons of time and resources which equates directly to money saved for other parts of the game. Wasteland 2's graphics looking good is a matter of opinion so there is nothing wrong disagreeing with me. That said I think the UI is painfully bad, the environment art is okay, but the character models are flat awful and look straight out of year 2002. You're a bit wrong. You're counting Larian's budget with Early Access on steam vs POE with no Early Access. If you compare KS vs KS then POE had double the amount. When POE is available at Steam Early Access you can be sure as hell it will make more than D:OS. They recently updated UI. It changed a lot from when I first tried beta. It's better now. Not the most beautiful but it works and is thematically fitting. Char models do look bad indeed. If PoE goes Early Access, none of that will go into development. They will go to the development of the expansion though, so it suits me just fine. That is true also for profits from regular sales. Actually, its budget was exactly the same as PoE's. Source: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2014-07-03-divinity-original-sin-larian-studios-fastest-selling-game-ever I don't think DOS is any prettier than PoE though. I'd say the character models are just as good in both games and PoE's gorgeous 2d backgrounds don't look any worse than DOS' 3d world. 4 million euros is about 5.3 million dollars. And Faro said tham W2 had a final budget around 5 M$, and Josh said that PE made several hundreds of thousands $ from Paypal/backer portal, plus money saved from the deal with Paradox. So all 3 games have more or less the same budget, with DOS maybe slightly above (less than half a million $)

  10. Nothing you can do will change that. Really, you don't think that someone could, for example, be homophobic and then realize this type of discrimination is wrong? You don't think people can change there views in life? Define homophobic/racist. If simply someone finds the practise disgusting and homosexuals perverts, but then meets someone gay/black and comes to the realisation that no matter what the other likes to do he is just a normal person, then sure it can happen. But i don't think it can happen because he played a game or read a book that is SJW approved. That can have the opposite effect actualy, depending on the execution. And for the most mental cases, (which i think is the ones that do actual harm, like not offer you a job because you are woman, try to remove your Rights etc.) then no, i don't think YOU can change them. they must want to change themselves first. I dislike SJW strongly, not because i disagree with them(in fact i agree) but because they try to shoehorn their ideas in places that it has no place to be (books, games etc.) because it doesn't do any good. My problem is that they are way too quick to point fingers, and cry the -ism critisism, as if somehow ALL books/games/art should catter to the matter and make it a huge issue. If you want to realy help the minorities to improve their rights, fight in the political arenas, not game forums.
  11. I see what you are trying to say but I have to disagree, bigotry is a choice that some people make and racism is a form of bigotry. And there are absolutely some people who dislike or think less of people automatically because of the colour of there skin. But you are also right, there is such a social dynamic as the class struggle in all countries in the world but this doesn't have anything to do with racism but there are similarities End of the day no one is born a bigot, its a choice we make based on certain conditions that influence our perspective The problem with this (as opposed to unintentional racism Junta spoke earlier), is that if it's a concious choice someone makes, you can't realy change his opinion no matter what you do or say to him. Nothing you can do will change that.
  12. They will look much better with armor and helmets on, but I do agree they are on the weak side and could use a size reduction. In game they look good. So if the ingame model was used in character creation and invintory(size and perspective included), there would be no problem at all, at zero additional costs
  13. Not sure if serious.... Lore and setting was superb, but characters and writing?????????? ****ing wikipedia articles have better writing than Morrowind
  14. Is there any Information on if the game can be played exclusively in top down tactical view and gameplay footage where someone uses it for more than one attack?
  15. From what I've seen on the Codex, there's a lot of enthusiasm from a lot of posters for DA:I. I know i sound negative most of the time about Bioware, and apart of BG2, i don't think they have made a single great game (BG1 and DAO are mediocre to good), but i would be happy if DA:I would turn out good. Since i'm very sceptical about Witcher 3 and i consider all of Bethesda's games crap (Morrowind included,Bethesda's strong points aren't things i care about, while the areas they are horrible at are the things i consider essencial in games), DA:I is the only AAA rpg i'm slightly hopefull for. If they manage to produse something around DAO-BG1 quality (not a very high bar i would think) i would be happy. Unfortunently thei "hype" campain had the opposite effect and made me to lose hope for the game, i still hope they will prove me wrong. It's not as i have a ton of RPGs out there to choose from.
  16. Stun, is that an admission you're not buying DA:I? Or are you going to be waiting after it's released to see what people say? Yeah, I edited my post. I meant MMOish. Waiting, of course. And depending on how good PoE turns out, I may just skip it outright. After all, There's Witcher 3 on the horizon after PoE. You boys can wait till I play DA:I and then based on what I think decide whether you should purchase it? But so far from what I am seeing I would say get your wallets ready to invest Thanks for the offer Bruce, but i'll wait for RPGCodex's review just to be safe.
  17. ^ That. Everything in Eternity looks superb, except these two instances. That some people are fine with these, well no problem. But if many others have a problem with the looks of these two things and with nothing else, that means something. It isn't the same as saying everything in the game looks bad/dated and needs Witcher 3 graphics.
  18. Let me think. That effect actual graphics? Three maybe four, only because no one makes a mod to update all textures, it is always just racial skins, or just environment, or just equipment. How many mods were incorporated in making BG2:EE? I was trying to be fair before though. Time to take the gloves off now. How about this modern 3d game? How many mods is it running? Zero. Does that look worse than BG2 with mods? Also if you think I am "cherry picking" all I did was search Witcher 3 and take the third image google found. Also Maelkith did you do a search for ME3 boring hallway picture? This game is the reason i never mentioned CDPR at all. Even if i don't like the game, nor would i want PoE to use a similar perspective, i admit this looks beautiful. As for ME3 picture, you choose one of the most boring pictures IE games had to offer, so i returned the favor My point wasn't that modern games look always bad. Not my fault that RPGs are looking worse than most games from other genres. And i say this as someone who hzs zero interest in games apart from RPGs and strategy.
  19. and this and this are all looking worse than And if you want touched up as your screenshot was, this
  20. Not that you're not allowed to dislike it, but here's my question: If PoE's 3D models look like crap, then what have all the games from the past 20 years looked like this whole time? The 3D ones? Pure crap. The 2D ones? Pretty good actualy. They aged well, and i honestly consider IE games (with High resolution mods in the case of PS:T and BG1) better looking than any game Obsidian, Bioware or Bethesda have ever made untli now. I prefer the way PoE looks over something like the Witcher 3, even though the latter is more advanced graphicaly. My problem with the zoomed in model is that looks way worse than the rest of the game, which i find jarring. And judging by this thread and comments in various forums, i'm not the only one. If it's something so noticable, and can be fixed at low cost, why not offer the option to change it?
  21. From best to worst: BG2, BG1, DA:O, NWN, DA2 From the rest, i gave up after a few hours on KOTOR, JE and ME1, and didn't bother with the rest. While that means that i found the games i didn't finish bad, it doesn't automaticaly means that i found NWN and DA2 any better,at least as story-writing goes, just the gameplay was less annoying so i managed to finish them. BG1 is where i I start considering the games "average to okay", anything below DA:O i consider bad.
  22. And here is the problem i and some others have with it. It simply looks bad from that angle and it sticks out since the rest of the game looks gorgeous.
  23. If it's an option, I wouldn't mind, but I much prefer the zoomed in and face on for character creation screen. (Though as said earlier, customisation of avatar should come after portrait selection, which in turn should come after gender, class and culture selection, but that's not a biggie). Edit: Having more camera control in CC would fix this - allow us to rotate in more than just one plane and zoom camera - you can then view it how you like. I want either a picture with painted slots, or a fixed isometric view. Allowind the camera to move around won't fix the problem, which is that the 3D model looks like **** when zoomed in
  24. Beta is exactly for us to give feedback on the game and propose changes. Plus changing the perpective of the 3D model to be exactly like ingame (Top down view, tiny) won't cost anything significant. At least have this as an option.
  25. I disagree with that because if elves and dwarves are as well writen as i hope, they will fit with the rest of the World just as much as humans will do.(even though i would like to throw humans out as well, i know how to pick my battles ) So orcs wouldn't offer something. I have no doubt that Obsidian could possibly make the orcs fit as well, but then they would make dwarves and elves fit as well, so i prefer orcs to stay out of Eora. And i realy hope you are right and future instalments of the series to move in a more PS:T weird direction (as long as it is thematicaly appropriate, i don't want another Forgotten "and the kitchen sink" Realms
