Heh, thats exactly the approach I took this vacation. All the restaurants on the resort are already included in the price so every night I would scan the menu of whatever place we were eating at and specifically choose something that I wouldnt normally order for myself. I tried a snapper dish, and it was alright. Im not a huge fish eater but shellfish and crustaceans can GET IN MY BELLY. Aside, they have the best goddamn fresh fruit in the world in Mexico. Seemed like they were picking it off a tree right out back and serving it to my plate it was so fresh and sweet.

How does one catch a squid? On a hook or using a net / trap?

I appreciate the details...if I ever come across it Ill give it a try. Speaking of carpaccio, I tried both beef and salmon carpaccio in Mexico. They were alright but I wouldnt go out of my way to order either again.

That got me thinking, what could be my midlife crisis? Motorcycles scare the hell out of me. I dont want by body shoveled up from the side of the highway. Nice sports car? Nah. Side girlfriend? Back when I was on a Westpac deployment, and while we were just floating around, they put on a firepower demonstration for the crew. As I understand it this is a fairly rare event and we all went to the flight deck to watch. They slowly ramped up by firing off the CIWS a few times and had an F-14 fire a Sidewinder at a flare. Then other ships in the battle group would pass aport and fire the 5" guns and machinegun fire (no missiles unfortunately). The grand finale was BB-62 (or was it BB-63?) firing the 16" guns in a broadside...it was awe inspiring.

My friend says, good point but still better than getting even older.
