Ehh I love all Bethesda's games for one reason or another, it's just good to have a moan about the things you keep wishing they'd do Yeah I know how much you love Bethesda games, you have clocked more hours on Skyrim than most ( how much time now? ) I admire your commitment to there games, my point is more to people who are already saying " Fallout 4 sounds like it is going to be terrible game " Somewhere between 800-1000 hours, similar for Oblivion and Fallout 3...too much Yeah there's some prejudging going on. I think if you hated their previous games you're probably gonna hate their new games. Yeah, I think I'm overly critical of Bethesda. Really trying to cut them some slack and be a bit more positive. ...it looks good! There, I said it.

This is the height of nitpickery but there's something about the colour (probably changeable) and font of the UI that really irks me.

I dunno - it sounds like you're making excuses for some pretty crummy dialogue. Who would take this guff over something genuinely insightful, witty or memorable?

Sorry Bruce - it's late and I might be misunderstanding you here. Why wouldn't you be able to compare the two? If anything they make the perfect comparison, don't they? Two established narrative-driven role-playing franchises, both transitioning to the next generation and both introducing open world mechanics. There are different RPG elements at play, sure, but I think there's enough common ground for us to make an assessment.

Well, the prologue gripe is true of Fallout 3 too - I never really felt comfortable cannibalizing NPCs for fear of disappointing Liam Neeson. But yeah, voicing is hugely constricting and a strange fit for a Bethesda game.

One poindexter quibble I have with Bethesda's Fallout is the prologue. I'm surprised they do it - it's constricting from a role-playing perspective. Obsidian did well to leave any backstory vague.
