Mandalorians resemble...
ShadowPaladin V1.0 replied to Eddo36's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
He was suffering from a number of acute medical conditions at that point. -
It's a matter of scale. When you are talking in million a few 1000 sales dont mean a lot so word of mouth dosnt have much of an overall effect if on the other hand the game isnt a big seller, then word of mouth can make or break it.But many acclaimed games have bombed despite being raved about. Magazine reviews from what I have seen have been positive and the distribution company I have contacts with have also had positive feedback. It's the holiday peroid that does it. Around 40% more software is sold over the holiday period. And LA saw the US/Xbox as taking the lions share in the sales, or the EU version would not have been at all feasable before localisation. You have to remember that the US Xbox was released in december and this lot didnt come to light till the PC version was released. So any fallout over this really makes no difference. It's like LA have made their killing and gotten out of dodge. As an aside I've played many "complete" products that still left the same questions, if not more. Much longer in development and you also get clashes with the current prequel lineup. LA's big darkhorse seems to have been merceneries. Not had a chance to see it myself yet but it's on the eventual rental list.

Go into the missile launch bay. Face the missile then turn to your left so your facing the wall. The console to release the core is on that wall.

Mine worked fine. I've heard some problems with modded boxes, but I dont have any sympathy for them anyway. If you look at the LA line up it's huge. I dont know if LA have to Q&A everything but they have around 10 games, maybe more due out over the next month or two across several different platforms. Including the new handhelds. I was under the impression that when it came to consoles, the final say rested with the owner of the brand name.

Mandalorians resemble...

It meant that Stalin cared as little for his own people as he did for the germans. He probably killed more russians than the gerams did as well. Just what history did they teach you at school anyway... -
I'm not.. I don't know how much interest George has in that particular aspect of the business. It's kinda sad, or funny depending on your PoV. It's like when I was in school my friends were very "green". Once the reality of life hit, they ended up working for big multinationals and it all gets forgetton. Once you become part of the machine, you start to think like the machine. The only way that would change is if you had someone at the head who actually liked to play games (most people in that position would never get the time). All you tend to see are reports and figures.

The red army was all abouy attrition. If it took a million soviets to kill 100,000 germans, that was what they did. Even the much lauded battle of kursk shows the same machine like mentality. -
"TSF: Escaped Criminals" sidequest bug

It's an odd one, sometimes they show and sometimes they dont. -

I'm really suprised that Hades dosnt like it. It's almost like they used him as the "hero" :D -

This one is a classic, it's just so funny. It's difficult to go into it without using spoilers though.. It's bad luck to be you (song of the chosen one) had me in tears of laughter. -
Exactly, they could have done those in half the time and still sold the same sort of numbers

Darth Banes most likely explanation is Bane of the Jedi. Rather than the usual play on words.

How the influence system works has a lot to do with the Exile as a character.

Publishers and developers have different goals. Some developers would never release a game, they would just go on twaeking it until it's "perfect". This of course is pointless because by the time the game is "perfect" it's years out of date. From a publisher point of view, getting something out while it's hot and then riding the wave is much more important than getting something out that is artistic. Lots of people will be watching Obsidians next game carefully, but it's nothing that they cant spring back from. Especially as the more mainstream reception of KOTOR II has been very positive (those folks who never get more than 3/4 the way through games).

Clone Wars Vol.2

They played the same episode again yesterday. Either an error, or the final episode is being held in reserve Maybe George will let them do a KOTOR spin off series. -
Champions Return to Arms
ShadowPaladin V1.0 replied to ShadowPaladin V1.0's topic in Computer and Console
It's not bad. It reminds me a lot of LOD although its a seperate adventure, the old characters carry over with some extra powers. My wife and I like playing those sort of things. The opening is weird, you just appear in front on FV and get sent on a bunch of missions. Something missing from the manual about the backstory ? I think Xmen piqued with that particular type of game. Ah my favourite FF story was never over fond of the sphere grid though. -
The Bard's Tale Demo was released
ShadowPaladin V1.0 replied to karka's topic in Computer and Console
It hasnt arrived yet. It finally arrived (late post). It's interesting. It's got a sort of unique charm, everything is very down to earth rather than the usual "fantasy". The first quest is funny and pokes fun at the old kill the rat in the cellars intro. The different responses also make a difference to how the story is written. Choose the right ones and you spend the night with the barmaid. Choose the wrong ones and you end up in a cramped little room and wake up in a foul mood. Combats been slightly redone , rather than holding down R1 you now have to react to the attack and parry it as it comes in. People also appear to react to which companion you have following you around. Another difference is the world map, bit like FF VII's but with visible wandering creatures. Makes a nice change from simply choosing the next location from a menu. The songs deserve a special mention.. Or at least the beer song does (because it's the only one I've seen so far). -
No as a matter of fact I didnt. Good news though. Should make a great movie, though the rating would be a bit in question.

Plagius is just bad though. Maybe it's time to stop trying to be "clever" with Darth names.

What's the first RPGs you've played?

HAHA NOOOB !! :D Just kidding, one of the advantages of being a latecommer is you have a huge backlog ready and waiting. -
What do u want from kotor3
ShadowPaladin V1.0 replied to Lord Zacarus's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Don't really care as long as it's fun and dosnt do anything stupid like have Raven or the Exile as the PC. Then reduce them to level 1 (or just starting them at 20 would be equally stupid). -
The Kreia/Kae Question
ShadowPaladin V1.0 replied to phiont's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
It's always been a bit odd that you can yo-yo between dark and light and not retain any sort of mark. The power may have aged her and her "unaging" would be bizzare. The whole "old woman" thing really works for her anyway. -

I think it was Bards Tale, C-64 although it wasnt at the time of release. Auto Duel etc. That sort of thing. First console RPG (not including the ancient consoles) would be Secret of Mana. That game was just amazing at the time, especially the ability to multi tap and have everyone play at the same time. I always remember Bards Tale because mine didnt come with a map My mother phoned up EA and they sent a map and a bunch of free goodies about a week later. Probably wouldnt happen these days. But I am a card carrying member of the "Evil Alliance".
