  1. That's not always a bad thing. Some developers when let off the leash fall appart and fail to deliver. Well you just confirmed what I was saying. No one is forcing you to use direct download. But why would want to if there was no saving to you ? And you were getting less for the same cost anyway ?Unless you had bought into the developers "message". Your arguement is centered on it is better for the developers. It probably is. But where as retail have to cover more costs(and in cases where costs are lower prices drop). DD dosnt. Yet the same costs are being passed along to the consumer. If those savings are not being passed along the chain. Then you are being screwed over.
  2. Well it's certainly in our nature to kill each other. Just not on a large enough scale to keep pace with the population growth. That desire for conflict must be driven by something as well.
  3. Only predators would stop that happening. Otherwise the speices will simply grow until they come to a point where they can no longer be sustained by the enviroment.
  4. Means nothing. It's no different to a publisher doing the same thing. Publishers introduce some much needed common sense and whip cracking for the most part. There is already competition from the established sources. That DD is not seeking to undercut simply confirms that some people are buying into the idea that lining a developers pockets is a good thing. Even if they are basically screwing you over in the most obvious manner.
  5. Should have gone the Advent Children route. Blizzard are good at that sort of thing. It takes a lot to pull off a live action fantasy movie (money and talent) without the cheese factor oozing all over it.
  6. Always felt sorry for him. It's like he was living out my worst nightmare.
  7. Won't be playing that on the Gamecube Our final GC game. Not the last GC game released.
  8. Lining your own pockets could certainly be seen as a valid point of view :D Dosnt make it good for the consumer though. If you look at online shopping. It's cheaper in general than the highstreet (lower overheads). If DD is supposed to reduce costs even further(no boxes, no manuals, no storage, no shipping), then the develpers are just as guilty of doing what they accuse publishers of doing. Strikes me as more than a little hypocritical.
  9. Well you can definately see it. But I don't think it's as bad in motion.
  10. Just so we are on the same page. What are you calling jaggies ?
  11. You could get a pretty decent rig for. $1000 but I still doubt you would be using it when they phase out the current generation of consoles.
  12. Not unexpected but rather boring.
  13. War and conflict promote growth. As long as you don't look at the cost. It's quite useful when it comes to advancements in technology.
  14. My conclsion is the only reason to embrace DD is to put more money in the developers pockets. Which dosnt strike me as a good enough reason to cease my current way of doing things. As such it's not really a great suprise to see developers championing DD now is it ? Higher prices in order to cover costs (distribution, storage etc). But the same price when there are no such costs ? If EA were pulling this sort of deal people would be all over it calling them greedy bastards.
  15. Not that impressed. Biowares failures don't lie in making stuff look pretty. They lay elsewhere.
  16. If you come across anything for the disaster game could you post it please? Only one of the new IP's that caught my attention.
  17. Thats not particularly great either. But it's better than the Halo one. I think someone already mentioned MGS which has everything.
  18. Well that was a waste of three minutes. How boring could you make a trailer for an FPS.. Looks like I just found the answer.
  19. http://shop.gameplay.co.uk/webstore/produc...itle=chibi_robo! Looks like this will be our final Cube game. (read into that whatever you like). For her eighth birthday, little Jenny receives a very strange gift from her toy-fanatic father
  20. Ordering online. http://shop.gameplay.co.uk/webstore/produc...rom_(aftermath) how much is this on DD ?
  21. I thought he looked like Saruman.
  22. It looked great when they were playing tennis. Not so great with Twilight Princess , Red Steel , was so so. Definately a viable alternative. Might take some practice.
  23. They are going to rip a hole in reality where the three points meet.
  24. They seem to be on the right track. The DS gives them a good foothold as well. The cube was a bit of a ****up from the start.
