  1. Well unless he could look over everyones shoulder 24/7 that's a totally unrealistic view. If it were a matter of policy thats a different matter. But your just looking for any excuse to fuel your Bush hate.
  2. Not the same thing. When he says it he means as a matter of policy. What individuals do is not down to him, as long as they are punished for their actions via the legal system thats about all he can do.
  3. If interplay can sell it they should. The early Final Fantasies were given a GBA makeover (although they still wont release FFIII here I think they do it on purpose just to annoy me). IP probably have a lot of stuff that they were releasing 10 years ago which could re emerge on a handheld. I bugged BF to make a wasteland handheld during the Bards Tale develpment.
  4. Don't play many handheld games do you ? If people can handle the likes of FireEmblem/Advance Wars , Fallouts not going to be a challenge in any way. If anything FO may just be too easy.
  5. Oh a Shin Megami Tensei game heres the link for the lazy (like me) http://www.gamespot.com/games.html?type=ga...es&dlx_type=all Not much there unless your familiar with the names or companies unfortunately.
  6. Oh well thanks anyway for the link. Lair interests me, but anything dragon related does. I'm a bit suprised NI are doing a PS3 game, they don't exactly push the boundires when it comes to graphics (Makai Kingdoms is a good game though). Final Fantasy says it all really Warhawk looks nice not particularly psyched by it though any more than I was by GoW. Noticed a few of those games were carrying dec 2006 release dates. Which would be pretty on course with a march/april release. Unless of course GS just made them up
  7. Could be, it's a bit difficult to tell. I've been pretty happy with the graphics this generation in general. I'd rather see some innovation than just making games look prettier. Fire Emblem on the GC did suprise me, because after being used to playing on a handheld it really does look gorgeous. Generally though, i'm tough to impress with pretty pictures.

  9. Except your always going to be sacrificing one thing for another. Use too much on graphics and your game will move like a slug. When you have a fixed ammount, then you can push each aspect to the limit without any worries of compromising either. Dedicated memory also seems to be superior at what it does. Since you wont ever be able to go beyond what you have in the big pot with unified memory, it's always going to be either a juggling act or a compromise if your seeking to bring the most out of the system.
  10. Injecting people with drugs against their will probably comes under torture. Mentally breaking people probably goes in their too. I guess what he meant is they dont hook peoples nuts up to car batteries and stuff like that.
  11. I'll see if I can find a pic (My Avatar is a moogle, although it looks more like a rabbit if you ask me). Blurb from Gameplay. The story of FINAL FANTASY XII takes place in a world called "Ivalice," in an age when magic was commonplace and airships plied the skies, crowding out the heavens. A world of many races, the humes, bangaa, viera and, of course, moogles, all call Ivalice home. War was on the horizon. Seeking to strengthen its base of power, the great Archadian Empire had been invading and subjugating its neighboring kingdoms one by one. The small Kingdom of Dalmasca was one such kingdom. When the occupying Archadian forces established a new consul in Dalmasca's Royal City of Rabanastre, it caught the attention of Vaan, an urchin living on the streets. To Vaan, the Empire was a hated enemy who had taken the life of his brother his last surviving family member. Vaan hatched a plan to sneak into the castle housing the new consul and unburden him of one or two of his treasures. But before he would have the chance, Vaan got far more than he bargained for; a resistance movement of former Dalmascan soldiers rising up against the Archadian Empire was launching an assault! Amid the ensuing confusion that engulfed the castle, Vaan saw something he could scarcely believe. There, among the members of the resistance, was the figure of the sole remaining heir to the Dalmascan throne, the Princess Ashe, who'd been given up for missing... Our story follows Vaan, Ashe, Vaan's friend Penelo, the sky pirate Balthier, his partner Fran and many more on an adventure through Ivalice that traces the mysteries behind the Archadian Empire's invasion. Since 1987, the FINAL FANTASY series has sold over 80 million units. FINAL FANTASY XII carries on the proud tradition, bringing new ideas to the series and innovation to the RPG genre. Features: Every aspect of the graphics brings color to the world of Ivalice blues and oranges reminiscent of the Mediterranean evoke a landscape alive with a mix of European and Arabian imagery. Airships feature prominently in FINAL FANTASY XII. They come in all shapes and sizes - the main airship in this story is a medium-sized craft that measures over 1,000 feet from bow to stern. Airships are used for everything from the trading of goods to the waging of war. The story isn't all that's new experience an evolved battle system with numerous features never before seen in the FINAL FANTASY series. 1. ADB - Active Dimension Battle is a shift from ATB (Active Time Battle), lending more realism to the battle by allowing seamless switching between the field and the battle scene. 2. Load time between the field and the battle scene that is unrelated to actual gameplay has been eliminated, ensuring smoother gaming. 3. Besides time elements, such as the attack timing, the player can fully utilize the field geography in terms of differences in ground level, intricate terrain, places with low visibility and the like. 4. Enemy monsters can also take advantage of the varied tactics that ADB offers, possessing sophisticated AI to ambush parties, back up their comrades and restore HP. Ivalice sounds better, too, with in-game events and movie scenes presented in Dolby Pro Logic II. Not exactly cute is it :D Almost forgot, if you buy Dragon Warriors VIII there is an FFXII playable "demo" in there too.
  12. The armoured Chocobo's in FFXII look pretty evil.
  13. Higher production values. Profesional movies, movie voice actors (rather than unknown ones) higher wages etc.
  14. There will be people who will use the higher prices to justfy it. Personally I just rent stuff. I think it has more to do with the retail side of things keeping the prices down rather than the development side.
  15. Dumb though, why would you pay all that extra money only to have to swap disks. I bet when you got to your 99th 3.5 swap in a couple of hours you would start to care
  16. Thats fine but I'd place you in a minority that would be too small to support a business model anyway. If you recall what I said was that I would not pay extra for the same thing with pretier graphics. I've yet to see anything that I would call an increase in quality (beyond the visuals). You can see many instances where a game will struggle at full price, but will sell like crazy once the price is lowered. Vampire sold out overnight when it went on sale for
  17. Not so , games are coming on DvD right now which will cost
  18. Cinema attendance has decreased. Game sales have increased which means more competition and lower retail prices. Volume is the key since the market price wont stand for large increases. The whole budget games market is based around offering things at a lower price in order to attract those buyers who wouldnt , or couldnt pay full price.
  19. If people dont buy in the same volume at the higher prices then you just screwed yourself over. Umm no, try reading the post before making stuff up. I said I dont feel compelled to pay anymore than I pay right now for the same media (DvD) and the same game , just with pretier graphics. What we can conclude from that is I dont mind paying the current price so A I dont feel I am entitled to free stuff and B I dont want games to be on sale for a pound since that would be of no actual benifit to me. Perhaps you should read what is written and not try to infer things Anyway your wrong on both counts.
  20. I think I covered Troika when I said poor games " . Troika's reputation for nigh on unplayable crap obviously didnt help them stay in business.
  21. Yes, price is a big factor in consumer spending. At no point did I say or even imply charging a $1 that would just be stupid.
  22. However making short and or poor games is a sure fire way not to sell them.
  23. Really dont see the big deal. Not much in KOTOR could survive a lightsaber flurry anyway. The easiest way to make those weapons fun is to have more enemies. Of course if you vaporise someone, their stuff should be vaporised too. Overuse it and your going to be passing up a lot of stuff. Having reinforcements show up from semi random locations is a good way to keep the playere on their toes.
  24. Or you could make very good games and make your money by selling lots of units. I know which one I prefer.
