What puzzles me is they make a f'ugly PSU the size of a brick then expect you to leave it on display. -

Just days after the Xbox 360 launched in the US, the Internet has been awash with reports of consoles crashing or freezing - but it seems gamers themselves could be to blame for the problem. According to reports, many Xbox 360 owners are attempting to hide the console's power supply unit out of sight, and placing it in areas where there is not enough ventilation as a result. Just as when a PC crashes if it gets too hot and there's a risk of fire, the Xbox 360's PSU apparently then shuts down - which means you should be leaving plenty of space around the power pack so that air can circulate and the two built-in fans can do their job. Advertisement One Xbox 360 owner found a particularly inventive solution to the problem - as detailed on the GameSpot forum. The poster, "goldeneyemaster", claims his Xbox 360 was crashing "like once every 20 minutes," so he suspended it in the air with a bit of string - which did the trick. He also found that perching the PSU on a box worked just as well: "I left the console on for seven hours without crashing (I finally decided to turn it off)." Microsoft declined to comment on whether or not it's definitely the PSU overheating which is causing the crashes, with a spokesperson simply telling us: "Because Xbox 360 has three powerful processing cores, customers may notice that it runs a bit warmer than other game consoles, but this heat output is well within the acceptable and safe range for a CE device of this type and has passed all applicable safety certifications. "There is no systemic issue with Xbox 360. Each incident is unique and these customer inquiries are being handled on a case-by-case basis." Rumours that future Xbox 360s will come bundled with a bit of string are completely made up. -
No idea but I imagine they will at some point. That and Nintengirls

My parents only really started taking an interest when they saw me playing Nintendogs.

I made it upto level 81 of Mount Battle (only 19 more levels to go). Started off easy enough, well it would with a 55 Dragonite and a 50 Salamence wouldnt it.. Although I've been outleveled since the 60 tier I only ran into real problems when I can across a Regice, Milotic and Articuno in the same party. The dragons didnt even manage to survive one attack. That *4 to dragon and flying is deadly (even if your 20 levels higher which I wasnt). Found a neat little trick for mimic copying Dragonites Earthquake and Hyperbeam for Salamence

Maybe it was too subtle for them. " I've watched the 5 hour movie I really should get on with the game.

Unfortunately I can only see the Mario Double Dash and Mario Soccer pack at gameplay both

XenoGears touches on the nature of creation I doubt they like that sort of thing. Actually Xenosaga goes one better. Is that one on the list ?

Started another thread because I didnt want to bog down the first one possible answering questions about pokemon bingo. First things first. Despite its lame name (come on you know it is) the game itself is anything but. It requires both strategic and tactical thought as well as a knowledge of pokemon types. The game is set on a board which consists of a series of tiles. These will either be type tiles, such as fire or water. Or ? Tiles which could either contain EP points (entry points required to flip tiles) or a master ball, which allows you to add another pokemon to your team. If you run out of entry points its game over. Heres the run through of the very first (beginner card). It may not make that much sense but I'll try to explain things a bit. You start with a Dragonair (mid level dragon pokemon) with 2 EP points and two master balls. 1. In panel 1 use the Dragonair to catch Charmander with a master ball (this will give you a Charmander with 2 EP's) 2. In panel 5 use Charmander to catch a Treeko. 3. Activate a ? panel to aquire a master ball. 4. In panel 4 use Treecko to defeat Poliwag (grass easily beats water) take the EP and give it to Treecko. 5. Use Dragoniare to catch a Mudkip (using a master ball). 6. Use the Mudkip to beat the Cyndaquil (water beats fire) 7. Use mudkip on ? aquire EP and complete a line (a line awards 1 ep). 8. Use Charmander to beat Bulbasaur (Fire beats Grass) 9. Treecko beats Remoraid (Grass beats Water). 10. Mudkip beats Vulpix (Water beats Fire) another line add EP to Mudkip. 11. ? Panel , give EP to Treecko and Charmander. 12. Mudkip beats Torchic and completes another line. Give EP to Charmander. 13. Treecko beats Squirtle and completes line. Give EP to Treecko. 14. Charmander beats Rosellia complete double line (2 Ep's) Give EP to Charmander and Treecko. 15. Charmander beats Chikorita and completes line. Give EP to Dragonaire. 16. Treecko beats Totodile and clears the board. This shows three things. How important it is to use the correct pokemon (since if you are defeated you will most likely lose the chance to complete the board) How important it is to plan a steady supply of EP's by completing lines and double lines. How important it is to capture other pokemon (because you wont get far with only 2 EP's). All in all it's a very entertaining , if somewhat time consuming mini game. For those of a less strategic temperament , there is always the battle sims (This is a mini game available in the Realgam Tower in Pokemon XD in case your wondering).

Thought they would be cheaper than this by now. But it is an option that will let you play both types of games. http://shop.gameplay.co.uk/webstore/produc...game_boy_player

Most sensible course of action is a Game Cube and a gameboy player. That way you can play any GBA game on the GameCube. Which unless you are big into gaming on the move works really well. The gameboy Pokemons are more open (full maps) and deeper in the sense of the breeding aspects. The XD games is harder since you mostly face other trainers to get your pokemon and they come with some really nasty movesets later on. The AI makes rookie mistakes (which having played the grand tournament I must assume are 100% intentional on the part of the programmers). If I had to choose I'd say Emerald since that one really pretty much perfects things. Otherwise GBA player and GC all the way. If your going to take the plunge into GC/GBA gaming can I recomend the FireEmblem series too.

Easy deal for squenix though since it was basically just redressing a PC game. -
Yes. My least favourite FF (well except II) It's a good list though. I'd add FFIX to that as well.

Not suprising FFX takes a huge dig at organised religion and blind obedience.

Don't see any point. There is so much good stuff still to come this generation like FFXII , Twilight Princess etc. Once things start to wind down this generation as everyone gears up for the next thats probably when I will pick one up as long as there is enough stuff I want to play on it. -
Well there isnt a pokedex so you wont have those empty spaces staring back at you. Curse you Jirachi and Celebi.. Er. There is a ShadowDex which means if you miss any of the 83 you will know it it will even say failed to snag just to make you feel even worse. Good news is even if you do fail you can still catch them in other places. So far as completing the games, well you can catch all the pokemon in that particular game. Which is all you can do anyway. For example you cant complete the national dex (all 386) without a Nintendo pass. Aron is in XD as well as Tyranitar and Shuckle. As well as Eleckid. No squirtle, charmander or bulbasaur (that I have found).

Nah but we have all had games lock up so we can all share in the 360 experience :D -
No you can have more than 83 there are only 83 you purify though. You can also catch 12 wild pokemon (and 3 of those are tradeable in game). Trust me though , you wouldnt want to purify 386 shadow pokemon. The number is just about right so that you dont have to go out of your way to purify them , while at the same time giving you a lot of variety. techically you cant catch em all in saphire either, you would need to trade to ruby for certain ones. Same with green/red. You can import any of your other pokemon into XD after you finish the main plot line too. Your PC box will hold about 300 if you want to breed them across games.

I've never played Halo which people keep telling me is why I enjoyed Halo II so much.

Umm let me know if you meant Saphire :">

Pokemon XD ? Well you have the main story which probably takes around 30-35 hours. Then you have mini games which take around 10-20 hours. Although Pokemon Bingo sounds incredibly lame it actually takes a serious ammount of forward thinking. I'll post up a typical game in a bit. Mount Battle involves fighting 100 trainers till you get to the very top. You get a Pokemon as a reward (either Cyndaquil , Totodile or Chickarita). I think you can do it one for each but honestly I dont have the patience. When you finish the actual plot all the trainers get upgraded pokemon (starting at 50) which are around the same sort of level you ended the game at. And you get an invitation to the Tournament of Champions. So figure around 100 hours all told if you want to be a completist. Oh once you finish Saphire you get a bunch of after game extra's too. Pokemon games are big on the after game extra's. As for how many Pokemon in XD. Not exactly sure. There are 83 shadow variety, 12 that you can capture from pokespots, 4 you can trade for and I think 3 you can win. However they are all from mixed regions. So you have some Jhoto , some Kanto and some Hoenn.

Wouldnt know never played it. Is it religious ?

That was actually a pretty good game. I got sent a comp copy. I dont object to playing christian mythos games anymore than I would object to playing egyptian mythos or viking mythos games. I wouldnt play some thinly disgiued propoganda though.
