  1. It's not so much that everyone mindlessly attacks unsatisfied players. I think it's more that certain complaints crop up constantly, it starts to feel like people don't read anything or search the forums for existing topics, instead just having a complaint and immediately making a new post to gripe. You can't go back and do anything after jumping into the pit (that's explicitly stated in-game as a point of no return). That's not an issue specific to the White March content, which by the way you had already started, therefore you can't possibly have thought it was post-game content.
  2. Good luck getting the hang of it OP. I'm going in the opposite direction, trying (and failing) to get some enjoyment out of turn-based combat so I can play Divinity Original Sin and Torment Tides of Numenera.
  3. I would like this too. Or least allow to upgrade attribute bonuses to their higher counterparts if there's enough free enchantment slots. Fine can become Exceptional can become Superb, so why can't Might 1 become Might 2?
  4. I solved Hylea's and Galawain's quests without even knowing that they were the gods' quests. You can get them independently of praying to the gods. I'm not sure about Rymrgand or Berath though. Regardless, if you avoid the respective quest-givers as well as the gods, then yes, I don't think those quests will show up in your log at all.
  5. I'm fine with no more new content after WM2, I just hope they continue to squash all the bugs and don't introduce any more.
  6. I've only been active on here for a week or two but I feel like I see this reported every single day. It's been explained as a display bug over and over again. Is this something different? That being said, I really wish they would get the numbers displaying properly because as of now the display isn't worth a damn.
  7. You know, I expected that but I never noticed anyone saying anything about it. The only gossip I saw was something like "...and it was an outsider who finally dealt with the Pale Elves, can you believe it?"
  8. Yeah. Concelhaut won the fight against Thaos for me. When that hammer came crashing down it was over in seconds.
  9. Wait, really? I was able to sneak my way through Rymrgand's quest, pass some dialogue checks to convince people to leave, and successfully complete the quest as Rymrgand asked without killing anyone. You might just need a high Resolve? That might be true. It might be that I didn't get to that line because I sent the elves through the breach, thinking I'd just plug the hole behind them with the shard. It wasn't very clear in the dialogue that I was choosing not to seal the breach.
  10. I'm getting this bug all the time in my latest playthrough (but still on 2.01). The thing is, my previous playthroughs were also 2.01 and this never happened. Do you by any chance have IE Mod installed? That's the only variable that's changed since my last playthough, so it may be the culprit.
  11. Depending on your character you can solve Galawain's quest without any bloodshed. I think you need to have a Druid or very high Survival skill. Otherwise the best resolution is some beast slaying. In my opinion this was the most interesting and satisfying discussion with any of the gods, even if I did decide to take Hylea's path. Some sneakiness can bypass some of the bloodshed in Rymrgand's quest, but a totally bloodless resolution requires that you solve the quest in a way that displeases Rymrgand, failing the quest. Berath's is the real bloodbath. While at least half of the quest can be solved through dialogue, I never found a way to do the other half without massive slaughter.
  12. Why don't you go ahead and do them anyway, and get the experience and the satisfaction of playing them? You can still go turn them into the gods and talk to them and learn about the main plot, even if you don't want their blessing(s). You can just tell them you already made a promise to Hylea (or change your mind, if the other gods make a more convincing case).
  13. I just realized it's ok to use a spoiler tag in this forum, so this is my theory regarding the god-like:
  14. Honestly, the modern games I play these days like Dragon age and Witcher gives you the ability to play expansion after you have finished the game, so I just assumed I would be able to do the same here, that was a mistake. But it is what it is now, I should have read up on it before buying the expansion pass on steam. What’s done is done. Yeah, that's definitely true, and the more modern approach to expansions would preferable for veterans of the game. I just know the devs wanted to do a Baldur's Gate style expansion that added new stuff to the map (Durlag's Tower, that ice island, etc.). It seems more geared toward new players or veterans who are more than happy to start a new game for the nth time. For people who are just getting the game, or (like me) just bided their time before playing it, it's pretty great to start out with the White March already in place, as it fills out the campaign with more content. I also save constantly, so it seems strange to think that some people would have to replay hours and hours of game just to find a save from before entering the pit. Unless it's a Trial of Iron game of course. Those people are just screwed.
  15. Yeah, FPS is definitely not my circle. And although I played BG and IWD I never frequented the forums. My library is all RPG and ARPG from the last 15 years, and the setting is always called "Blood" or "Gore," if the setting is even there.
  16. I never got the impression that the expansion was something to be played after the main campaign's end-game. In fact almost every bit of info released about The White March stressed that it was to be played in the middle of the campaign, not as an additional act tacked onto the end of the game. I totally get why people want to take their old end-game characters through the new content, but I don't know why anyone was expecting that.
  17. I did not have that impression of Iselmyr at all. Despite her flaws, I wanted to push Aloth towards "integration" as much as possible, although that's not really a concept in the game. I actually had in mind Rand al'Thor from the Wheel of Time books, who went through a similar thing. The closest thing to an integration seemed to be having Aloth come to an understanding with his alter ego. She seemed to fill him out where he was weak and make him more a complete person. Having him just continue to struggle and rebel against his condition seemed to be failing him thus far. And after all, the dialogue option wasn't "just give up and let her ruin your life," it was something like "you should learn to relax and try to put her skills to use." With regards to the outcome where he takes over the Leaden Key, I thought the key dialogue was at the end of the campaign, but I don't know all the contributing factors.
  18. I ignored staves in PoE, preferring to use ranged implements (wand/sceptre/rod) for wizards, druids, and priests. If push did come to shove and my wizard was engaged in melee, I preferred to use the spells that summoned a magical staff rather than actually keep a melee weapon equipped.
  19. I had the same idea. I wanted to grab Zahua as quickly as possible then come back and do White March later on. I know the scaling is a one-time offer though. I would guess that you wouldn't get the offer at all if you've already been to the White March.
  20. Ok. What you said just made me re-think the possible cause-effect relationship of the gods and the god-like, that's all. I'd elaborate but it would spoil a major late game plot point.
  21. This setting is usually called something like "Gore" or "Blood" in other games. I've never seen the term "gibs" before but for some reason I guessed the meaning correctly when first loading the game, because I figured it was a shortening of the word "giblets" as was mentioned above.
  22. 13 was the level of my party. I realize now that wasn't clear, but then again there's no way I could start on level 6 of the dungeon either. We have all dodged a bullet here. Henceforth I shall use "floor" to describe a dungeon level.
  23. Good point. That's actually an example of a stronghold so intimately tied into the campaign that it really didn't even register in my mind as a stronghold in the same sense as Caed Nua, even though that's exactly what it is. Just for the record I don't have any problems with Caed Nua, I just want more interactivity.
  24. That's interesting. Like maybe the godlike were always around, a natural phenomena that pre-dates certain historical plot events that I can't mention in a spoiler-free forum.
  25. 13 was the level of my party. I realize now that wasn't clear, but then again there's no way I could start on level 6 of the dungeon either.
