LOL, of course the fan helped them, they are the only ones who bought them. If KotOR was called "fighters with glowing swords against lasers" and had no connection to the SW universe, sales would have been half what they were. As far as the awards, you missed the fact thats its easy to win when you the only guy running.

Of course, a large number of fans, critics and other developers are SW fans. Also, KotOR had no competition in its catagory. Even grommy could win a beauty contest if he was the only one there. Poor grommy not realize that SW is a marketable lable with its own built in draw.

Nope, its sufficiant to note that KotOR and other SW games have sold better than they should have otherwise. KotOR was also released on the crest od SW D20, even the SW lable isn't a constant. There are other factors as well, the lack of any competition for instance. KotOR is an OK game, not as good as max paine, and certainly in the classification of CRPG's its pretty poor, its really an adventure game. SW lable is a huge boost to sales. It makes a mediocre game sell like a good one and a good one sell like a great one.

They have sold far better than they would have otherwise. jedi acadimey and outcast have very strong sales BTW.

They shouldn't even waste the time putting in the ability to play female's.

Bio has 1.8 million users because you register on the boards automatically with NWN, and many, many of those are multiples, and many more are one time questions. The real number is how many active users you have.

Considering that bioware-forums have 1.8 million registered members, we're only just getting started here I was about 30k of that.

KotOR2 is just a clone of KotOR pushed out fast to make a quick buck. I don't think it reflects on Feargus in a positive or negative light, it was all about timing and luck.

The tools for scripting are probably the same PC or Console (by that I mean they take the same input format), and since there are no major changes to anything codevelopment is no problem. If we were going to see something orignal you might have a valid concern, but KotOR2 is basically along the lines of a mod pack.

I seriously doubt that will be the case. Why not? Because the game is written for teens andyounger, it is using an existin engine and formula, it won't be different from KotOR in any real way.

yeah, probably true, but even the darkest sith needs help to rise the ranks and reach the top. After that you can discard or kill your followers. A few might be apprentices but they know their role. You lead, they follow. Like malak followed revan?

Hell, I never use the force in Kotor, since I wear armor and buff up, power attack kills most foes in two hits. Make that two stupid forward somersaults.

Not me, every sith lord is eventually overthrown by his apprentice. Even the original dark sider, vecna. You would think they would eventually learn.

The only NPC I liked whas whats her face after she became a dark jedi, couldn't stand her before that. Jolee, no, the only thing I liked was carving him to pieces when he failed to kneel before me. HK-47 I didn't use. I solo'd the game for the most part, haven't quite finished yet.

Gaiders a pretty minor player on most of the **** crap. People give him more credit than he is due because he is on the boards a lot. The things he had the largest hand in (ToB and Kotor) are hardly shining beacons of humor and design.

They should put one of them hemi engines in droids. That way your jedi could have hemidroids!

The problem is some people would prefer not to roleplay a jedi. Me for instance, I would prefer a plain old d20 pc without twinky powers, just a well worn blaster that can't penetrate paper at my side, and a bunch of NPC's in underwear.

I agree, and it was 99% of the game. And it will be the same in KotOR2.
