  1. Just use this Bruno and Stjepan in the.....never mind.
  2. Then you do it for me and I'll watch Neil Breen's 50 hour doc for you. Oh yeah, that 50's Vegas guy they have on the holosuite too. What's Enterprise?
  3. Yes. I will watch it.....sometime in the future. I've got a yuge backlog of stuff to get through. Rubber Soul, asking for understannnnnnnnnnnnnnnndingu.
  4. I mean when you think about it, most people would be more familiar with TV and movies than mythology so referencing that would be more common than recounting which time Zeus cheated on his wife. A weird thing about Star Trek is how people generally experience classical entertainment (Shakespeare plays, classical music) while modern(ish) and futuristic stuff (from our perspective) doesn't really happen. Off the top of my head, there's Riker's jazz, Tom Paris' 50's fixation, and O'Brian singing Louie Louie. I guess people won't remember the 20th and 21st centuries very well. Irenicus, his celibacy involuntary. But then I'd have to watch 1 and 2.
  5. I just took the idea of speaking in allegory with myth and applied it to real life, where we would be referencing various entertainment. Kars in the valley.
  6. Yes. Regardless, season 1 of TNG was awful and I can't recommend it to anyone. Likewise starting at season 3 doesn't seem like good advice. So I land in the conundrum of either not recommending a show I like or getting someone to watch 24 hours of awful TV.
  7. If you have time it's worth it, but there is a lot of bad to sit through before it gets good, and as @Amentep tabled, season 5 is a pretty big dip in quality.
  8. DS9 is the most consistently good Trek, but Voyager had some neurotic writing and just ends up mediocre. That said TNG has a really boring start and Wesley so uhhh yeah. Though it will never not be funny to me how Geordi had less romantic relationships than an emotionless robot.
  9. https://www.tampabay.com/investigations/2021/07/24/pasco-sheriffs-office-letter-targets-residents-for-increased-accountability/ Florida once again showing that it can and will get worse.
  10. Violet Evergarden Special: The gang goes to the opera. Pretty good, I liked the library scenes and the way it showed Violet trying to research how to write the right love letter. It didn't blow me away though and I think it could have passed for a regular episode and fooled everyone.
  11. I am torn between watching this show or not.
  12. Huh, I guess Utena's Bizarre Adventure isn't too far off. I bet those car rides end better than the actual car ride DIO takes. Eh, not as weird as what happens in JoJo.
  13. There's at least one meme in every episode yeah. I think Death 13 is next after THE SUN so uhh......have fun.
  14. I laughed loudly when the Princess asks Violet to be more expressive. So far the animation hasn't made me want to kill myself, so I guess that's a plus. ....have you met Death 13 yet?
  15. @majesticI didn't forget the OVA, but I was doing cardio and didn't want to search for it. I'm going to watch it soon and pretend it actually occurs between 5 and 6.
  16. Violet Evergarden 3-5 Violet learns more about emotions by going to school, partying with a co-worker, and helping a princess. I think the one-off characters are well developed, often more than much of Violet's co-workers at Lt. Col DIO's postal company. It makes sense given the premise of the show and isn't a bad thing, but right now I feel like I know less about that blonde dude who delivers letters than I do Violet's friend from school whose brother is a drunk. Overall it's been good to watch and I'd recommend it if you're looking for an anime that isn't about fighting and can deal with a very alienated teenage girl stumble through social interactions.
  17. And I had forgotten about Chibi-Usa begging for Pedosus to come blast her mom with his horn.
