Keep the win streak going against the Eagles then feel free to have things turn sour the following week.

@melkathi I vote for an old male materialistic aristocrat. Name him Donald J.

Muh Boys cleaned things up, blew the game open in the 3rd quarter, and coasted to another easy W. Outside of that 2nd quarter, where we looked flat out terrible in every phase of the game, we've played well on both sides of the ball, but, again, we still haven't played anyone. The Fins got frisky for a quarter, but it's easy to see why they're a 0-3 team. Even when things were going well for them and we handed them some 1st downs via stupid penalties, they proceeded to take out a gun and empty the entire clip into their foot. Anyway, we're 3-0, I ain't gonna complain about that. As an extra bonus, the Lions did us a favor today and knocked off the Eagles. With that we have a 2 game lead in our division. Can't ask for anything more than that in week 3. Next week we play the Saints sans Breesus in Nawlins. Meanwhile, I'll be a Packers fan this Thursday. Do us a solid, cheeseheads, and beat the Eagles.

That 2nd quarter was the most piss poor quarter of football muh Boys have played all year. By all rights, we should be down by something like 14 points at the half, yet we lead by 4 because the Fins are terrible and won't stop shooting themselves in the foot. Our D was banged up going into the week and got more banged up as the game went on, but that's no excuse for our awful level of play.

Q: Do you get to drive that tank and fire the cannon? A: Kinda sorta yeah.

Since I've been home for the last few days I've been playing Ion Fury. I don't play it when I'm in the truck on the road since the gaming setup in the sleeper berth in my truck is much more conducive to gaming with a controller. Technically, I could play Ion Fury with a controller; I could also smash my toes with a hammer, but I have no intention of doing that either. Anyway, I don't know how far into the game I am, but given that I now have a weapon for every number key except 0 I'm going to guess that I'm relatively far. I just beat a level that was... I won't call it a boss fight, but it was different than all the other levels so far in that it was 1 lengthy fight in an arena-like space where the game drops a metric ****ton of enemies into it and I have to frantically Serious Sam my way around the arena until they're all dead. It was a fun fight that took me 4 tries to get through. I've gotten better less **** at the game as I have played more of it, which has me excited for the upcoming Serious Sam 4, whenever that comes out. After seeing what has happened to Wolfenstein, I'm a little worried about Doom Eternal, but I have faith Croteam won't do us wrong and will deliver a proper Sam game.

Not to toot my own horn, but I rock a pretty sweet porn stache, yet even I am jealous of how LUSCIOUS Gardner Minshew II's stache is. Edit: My stache for comparison purposes: (Panama hat for bonus points)

Minshewmania is runnin wild, brother.

Don't you do it, Jerry, don't do it. Step away from the phone and put your wallet away. Seriously, we don't need another receiver, we have 2 good wide outs.

I live in a little podunk town just outside (literally adjacent to) Charlotte North Carolina. There's not much to say about the podunk town, on account of it being a podunk town, it's small and quiet and fairly rural, so instead I'll focus on Charlotte. Charlotte was named for Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, the county of Mecklenburg, where the city sits, was so named for the same reason. Charlotte became Queen of Great Britain roughly around the same time the city was founded, thus the moniker "The Queen City" (Cincinnati can **** right off with their claims of being The Queen City). Charlotte sits at the very southern edge of central North Carolina in the Piedmont region. Because of several atmospheric effects beyond my understanding we get a fairly steady amount of precipitation year round. We're far enough away from the Atlantic coast that we're generally unconcerned with the hurricanes that ravage the Caribbean Islands and the east coast every year, and far enough from the Appalachian Mountains to not get their winter effects. We have long hot summers, with July and August being particularly brutal, as temperatures regularly go into the 90s (thankfully almost never into the 100s) and we get Florida-like humidity most of the time during those 2 months. Spring and autumn are AMAZING. March, April, May, some of September, October, and November are generally extremely comfortable. Winters are quite short and very mild. We average about 4 inches of snow a year. Some years we get none, some we may get a foot, most of it melts very quickly anyway. We do get a nasty ice storm once in a while. It's not unusual to see me out there in early December and late February wearing flip flops, shorts, and a t-shirt. Winter wear is mostly long pants, and a hoodie. Breaking out a heavy jacket and a proper winter hat is fairly rare for me, though I spent 30 years up in the frozen wastes of Connecticut, so I'm more used to cold winters, the natives wear proper winter attire more often down here. Charlotte lies just east of the Catawba River (I live on the other side of the river). Lake Wylie lies to the southwest of the city and Lake Norman, the largest man-made lake in the state, lies to the north. Charlotte is the second largest city in the southeastern United States at roughly 900,000 people (Jacksonville, FL is #1), our metro area is roughly 2.5 million. Downtown Charlotte (called Uptown, for some reason) is almost entirely ultra modern, with lots of giant glass buildings and skyscrapers. A good portion of the outer parts of Charlotte have a decidedly medium-sized town feel to them. The city is fairly spread out (and constantly looking to consume Matthews to the south) with only the downtown area and a few of the more centrally located areas being heavily congested. There is a metric ****ton of parks scattered around the city (and many more just outside it). The city is home to the Carolina Panthers (NFL) and the Charlotte Hornets (NBA). Note: Pictures not mine

Flacco is super done. He's more done than Elisha Nelson Manning the fourth.

I grew up on this song, my grandpa (God rest his soul) used to play it all the time. Still amazing.

I want Brees to be healthy and return to action... in week 5.

I'm trying hard to not get too excited about Dak's hot start. He looked spectacular in the first 2 games this season, but I have to remind myself that we played against a couple division 2 college teams. The Saints game in week 4 will be the first real test. In other news, is it too early to start talking 0-16 for the Fins? Usually teams don't make it THIS obvious that they're tanking.

^ I guess you can have party members now, and one of them is this hostess names Saeko who fights by hitting enemies with her handbag. I hope that you can outfit your party members with gear. I want to get Saeko a handbag with a brick in it. Also, I hope she has a special attack where she puts her cigarette out on an enemy's face.

I read that the combat in Yakuza 7 is turn-based? Interesting.

It looks like we're leaving Kamurocho behind for the new Yakuza. I very much welcome this. Kamurocho was great, but it's been in enough games as is. Eventually, you want to see a different location *cough* GTA *cough* Saints Row *cough*

I'm currently going through the Bloody Baron quest chain in TW3. I've been looking forward to this. You know a series of quests was well designed when you remember all of it vividly years later and yet still look forward to going through all of it again despite knowing all the plot twists beforehand.

I stopped at a truck stop roughly on the border of Oklahoma and Arkansas to do my 10 hour break today. I went into said truck stop and the music in the main part of the store was playing fairly quietly, like at a 2 volume. I was too busy trying to reach the bathroom ASAP to pay attention to what was playing. Inside the men's room they had the music JAMMING, like at a 9. I got into a stall, planted my ass on the throne, and that's when I noticed that what was playing was the guitar solo from Lynyrd Skynyrd's Freebird. It was a live version to boot, so the guitar solo, instead of being 27 minutes long, probably lasted about an hour and a half. Anyway, it was at this point that I got a goofy smile on my face because I realized I was taking a **** listening to the song that was the butt of the joke about what song DJs would play on the radio when they had to go take a ****.

For my money, The Witcher 3 sets the bar for dressing up mundane quests/tasks. Pretty much every RPG has kill x monsters and fetch quests, TW3 is no exception here, but what sets it apart is how well they disguise said quests with storytelling and great voice acting. I'm definitely getting GreedFall eventually, I've bought every previous Spiders RPG, why stop now? I'm mostly waiting for Proton support for the game to mature (I suppose I could buy it on PS4, but I'd rather get the PC version). As it stands it runs with tweaks and performance sucks via Proton. Still pretty amazing how many games run via Proton on day 1. Give it a few weeks and it will probably be in pretty good shape. I've got plenty of Witchering to do until then. In the meantime, I definitely welcome impressions of GreedFall. I've seen reviews of the game that are all over the spectrum. Most agree it's definitely not AAA, but the closest Spiders have ever come to AAA production value. Gameplay and story, of course, are more important to me.

I've actually gotten back into The Witcher 3 recently. Man, the game still looks amazing. When I played it originally, I did it using WINE to run it on Linux. It ran with a few minor graphical glitches and a fairly noticable performance hit which forced me to play on low/med settings. Running it now via Steam's Proton is like night and day. No graphical glitches and waaaaaaaay better performance, allowing me to run the game on mostly ultra settings at 1440p. Proton is pretty amazing.

I found an Indian restaurant near the truck stop I'm at in Tulare, CA, and by restaurant I mean a trailer with a kitchen in it. They didn't have goat so I got lamb curry. It's quite tasty, certainly better than the fast food I would have gotten inside the truck stop. I freakin' love curry. Thai is my favorite, but I like Indian, British, and Jamaican curry too. (also, Steph Curry) As a truck driver, I get stuck eating the same fast food junk so often, as truck stops with decent restaurants are a rarity these days. Whenever I find some good food close to the truck stop I get really excited. Double bonus when it's something I really love, like curry.
