  1. I played through NWN2 OC twice. Both times I liked the first third and the last third. The middle third really drags. Still, I enjoyed the game well enough. I won't go on a rant about the grievous injustice that was the omission of a Neeshka romance, I'm sure Obsidian has heard enough about that to fill several full length novels. I do wish they had given me the option to slit Elanee's throat in her sleep, or at the very least let me expell that pointy-eared irritant from my party. On the bright side, Neeshka, Qara, and Sand were all delightful.
  2. There is a merchant that spawns in a random spot on the map, he's the only one I've met so far.
  3. R.I.P. "Marvelous" Marvin Hagler. His bout agains Tommy "The Hitman" Hearns remains my favorite boxing match ever to this day.
  4. I'm working on the village outside my keep. First step was leveling the ground. Next I dug a moat, then I built a palisade: Now I'm starting to plan out the layout by building just the very bottom of each structure: I have a garden on one end:
  5. Satan doesn't make Gothic. Satan makes FIFA.
  6. Merriam-Webster hasn't bothered updating the entry for a few years.
  7. If you look up "Eurojank Masterpiece" in the dictionary the entry looks like this:
  8. Valheim's third boss: I've seen a lot of people talk about the second boss as a difficulty spike, but I had no trouble with The Elder. Bonemass, on the other hand, murdered me on my first try. Enjoying the lovely scenery while sailing in my longboat: I've spruced up my throne room with sconces and boss trophies: I put Bonemass' trophy directly facing my throne so that I can stare at it to remember my failures and eventual victory:
  9. ^ I like the art style and gore. Hopefully the gore is used with purpose, à la Paul Verhoeven, rather than just gore for gore's sake.
  10. Eikthyr is a pushover. Go in rested and with a full belly. As long as you aren't butt naked it should be no problem. I used a bow with fire arrows first time around. It worked but was ultimately a waste of fire arrows (save em for trolls and/or the second boss). Flint spear + shield is my suggested loadout, but anything beyond bare fists will do.
  11. I'm a sucker for FMV games and this one includes the actor that played Jenks (he's the best) in Contradiction: I'll wait for reviews as the studio only had made 1 game before this, a point & click with less than glowing reviews.
  12. @HurlshotI believe they recently added a Vulkan option on Windows (On Linux Vulkan is default, this is what I use, with an option to use OpenGL). I'm not sure whether the Windows default is DX10/11 or DX12, but you might want to try Vulkan, if you haven't already. The game will freeze for me, sometimes (though not often) for as much as 6 or 7 seconds, when autosaving, but it runs relatively well otherwise. I'm (most likely) on a different OS, so we're comparing apples and oranges, I guess. I do hope they optimize the game performance some more.
  13. I'm torn on the Dak deal. Did Jerry overpay? Yes. Did he need to do this? Yes. It has long been my opinion that in this 32 team league there are at any given time 15 to 20 legitimate starting QBs, the other 12 to 17 are backup quality QBs starting by necessity. Is Dak a legitimate starter? Absolutely. Is he a franchise QB? No. What are the odds the Cowboys find someone as good or better either in the draft or via trade or free agency? Extremely slim. Jerry had to overpay Dak. It's the way of the NFL. The mistake was overpaying Zeke, and I say that as a long time Zeke apologist.
  14. @LadyCrimsonI'm sure I still have a ton of crafting to unlock. You unlock crafting via finding new materials and killing bosses. I've killed 2 bosses so far, there are at least 5 AFAIK. I'm sure there are several biomes I haven't visited yet. I'm just starting to venture into the plains (after getting horrifically murdered my first trip into it) as I make my way toward the third boss, Bonemass. Here's everything I've explored so far: That right there is as big as many open world games in their entirety. Here's what it looks like zoomed out to show the size of the full map:
  15. No, while the rampart is done, the interior of the keep is still fairly barebones. Ground floor - Crafting room: Second floor (or first floor depending on which side of the pond you are on) - Throne room: Third floor - bedroom: There's also a small attic. It's currently empty.
  16. The outer shell of my keep is done. I have some work to do on the interior, but it's a functional shelter and has all my crafting station needs covered. The rampart still needs a bit more work done and eventually I'll completely dig away the partial path to the entrance and leave a bridge with iron gates. I'm thinking about leveling the area directly surrounding the moat, building a little village, and a palisade around that and perhaps another moat. For now, work on the keep takes precedence.
  17. Valheim is slowly taking over Obs Forums. Everything is proceeding according to plan.
  18. The new architecture is a legitimate step forward, but it's being held back by the now antiquated 14 nm process. Intel will be in good shape once they get their engineering fabs back on track, until then they can only do so much to overcome AMD's TSMC's manufacturing process lead.
  19. I'm visiting my parents. We went to a sushi restaurant. Everything was good but the star of the show was the unagi temaki (eel hand roll). It was spectacular. I didn't even use any sauce with it, it was perfect without anything added.
  20. I'm building my castle My building site has been "attacked" multiple times already. By "attacked" I mean enemies awkwardly trying and failing to get across the moat and sheer wall while I sit and laugh.
