  1. Wait, so if someone is being racist for the sole purpose of angering people, it's not racist? Even though, logically, the people most likely to be angered by said display of racism are members of the race in question? That's some shaky logic there, methinks. That sentance precludes that you can somehow know the exact intent of another person. Which is not really possible unless you are a mind-reader. Political correctness in itself is unwelcoming to a large number of people. Freedom of speech means protecting the right of other people to say things YOU HATE. If you cannot do that, than you're not really for free speech. You merely pretend (or think) to be. Free speech is a double-edged sword, it has two sides to it, and both must be accepted. Yet some people fail to grasp that simple truth and think they can remove one side without affecting the other. You can't.
  2. Hentai? Developed from a eroge visual novel, but a VN that actually had a good story to it. Anime is top class Also:
  3. DISCLAIMER: I'm not in the beta. I watched videos about various classes and looked into their skills and abilities, so take what I say with a grain of salt. Now, I like playing Paladins. I also like playing "non-standard" paladins (the aligment is goal, not a singular path). So my paladins tend to be more lax and open in most situations and with some good brainstorming, one can justify a lot of things. But this is for D&D so its doesn't apply. What does apply is the combat gameplay. Some time ago I ran into a paladin kit for BG2 called Holy Avenger. It was a very combat-oriented paladin. No lay on hands, no ranged weapons, bonus against evil, penalty against good. It had some interesting abilities, including an aura of fear (can break enemy morale), aura of vengance (enemies that get too close get a small amount of damage) and my favorite, a high-level ability Heavens Fury (adds all types of elemental damage to your weapon for 2-3 rounds) Add in some standard cleric spells like Divine Might, Armor of Faith, etc... and you had a very powerful paladin, one I loved to play In PoE paladins use their faith/conviction to burn their souls for various effects. I don't see why this would be so narrowly specialized into leading troops. I like me my freedom to branch outside of a class stereotype. So far I don't really see much in the paladins arsenal for that (other than that skill that marks one as preferred enemy) So in case some devs are reading, I hope you take that into account. Failing that, PoE should be moddable enough that I can tweak it to my linking (I hope)
  4. My company is 60% women (most are programmers or in marketing). I didn't notice any difference in how everyone is treated or paid or anything. Heck, half the women in my company have a better salary than me. As to how you are percieved. Various studies have shown that women are far more easily offended than men. they are quicker to take offense and generally have a thinner skin. Which is why as more women come to the internet and join social media, they start feeling as if people are unnecessarily crucial, condesending or whatever because they are women. Nah. It's just that women really haven't gotten used to being treated exactly like men (and many don't want to, despite all the cries for equality).
  5. That supposed troll doesn't exist. GG has been digging - no trace of his existence can be found. At least not under the names given in that article.
  6. Psycho-Pass is excellent Rage of Bahamut is nice-looking fantasy fare. Personally I feel that there is something missing, but it's alright. Aldanoah Zero is hampered by a s*** protagonist and somewhat silly plot, but otherwise it's OK-ish.
  7. Well, Wikipedia is backpeddaling. Two editors changed their votes. Ryulong might not get banned.
  8. I am still surprised at the level of stupidity here. Almost every western country has this mandated by law: the accused should meet its accusers. Jesus. It's like they don't bother to read the TOS. Let's be honest, few people do. But to think they can abuse report systems and fling false accusations without any reprocussions - that takes a special kind of stupid.
  9. Yes, they do. http://images6.fanpop.com/image/photos/35900000/Super-Sentai-tokusatsu-35908144-325-183.gif The enemy is paralyzed* when they arrive. *with laughter
  10. Apathy from whom? To me, the reaction would be the same if it happened in the US or in Nigeria. Both countries are far away from me. The only difference is that I would be more surprised for something like that to happen in the US. The "closer to home" things happen, the more impact they have on a person.
  11. YAY FOR FREE SPEECH! EXCEPT WHEN I DON'T LIKE WHAT YOU SAY. WE NEED TO POLICE IT! Well color me sceptical. Shouldn't a man be allowed to hate too? ADDENDUM: It surprises me that on some level, I agree with that Gawker article. Never tough it would happen. Freedom of speech is great and I fully support it, however, I call things as I see them. Sometimes humor can be in poor taste and one really has to ask "did you really go there? Why?" Often it seems unnecessarily hostile, or deliberately "triggering".
  12. Leigh is s***. Her article is s****. She brought a dying stereotype from the grave just to "kill" it (but actually revive it) Gaming has been inclusive since day 1. It's been diverse from day 1. She is full of grade A bulls****, by claiming how it's changing and anyone who opposes change is a dirty, rotten bastard living in the past.
  13. Nope. You KNOW were boycotting and you don't want to provide an archive link an then attacks us for not reading it? Bruce, you're so full of s**** I'm surprised it's not spraying out of your mouth like in some horror movie. Let me make this is clear and concise as possible. That articles reasoning? Garbage Your reasoning? Garbage. Removing hookers from games will accomplish exactly WHAT? How does that help real sex workers in any way, shape or form? Unnecessarily cruel? The only thing that's unnecessarily cruel is having to open this tread as see your posts.
  14. Gromnir is back acting like a 100% prick? Color me surprised. Here's a 1000$ if you step away from the keyboard and stop taking a dump on anything you don't like and acting like a condensending man-child. Go back to your troglodyte cave with your badly-thought out non-arguments (most anime is s***? Most of ANYTHING is s***. I can literally use your own sentence and just replace anime with "books" or "holywood movie" and it would make just as much sense.) ********************** Good anime? 5cm Per Second Legend of Galactic Heroes Jin-Roh (the wolf brigade) Recently, Psycho Pass and Unlimited Bladeworks
  15. Therein lies the problem. Who gets to decide what oppinions "deserve" to be heard? You? Frak no, I wouldn't trust you to pick a shirt for me, let alone books or movies. The whle point of "worth" determining wether something should be censored or not is bullcrap.
  16. As a fellow dog owner I agree 100% Dogs are man's best friend and living, feeling creatures. One should treat them with respect, not as fashion accessories.
  17. I would go further. A lack of empathy for kind, loving creatures that are innocent of any crime and are incapable of proper defense is WORSE than a crime against an adult human.
  18. Glorious doesn't even BEGIN to describe this. This right here is Exterminatus-level ass-ripping. McIntosh and the Beta Brigade will never be able to sit again. The amount of anal cream they will need would sink a tanker.
  19. No, it isn't. I'll buy a product if it's good, as long as someone isn't DIRECTLY hurt by it (and no, "muh feels!" does not count). Not to mention that even natzi's have families and have to eat.
  20. I'd support any game being made with any kind of content, more or less. Now if someone would mod BruceVC into Hatered.... I might even consider buying it. Because frankly at this point I believe you are an insufferable hypocrite, thinking you know what is best for everyone and trying to mind police the world. Adn then you claim SJW's aren't a problem. Of course...you don't see though policing and censorship as a problem. For the greater good, right?
  21. > Implying there MUST be filters > Listen and believe
  22. This work is "worthy" and should remain. This is "crap" and should burn. This kind of thinking DISGUSTS me.
