  1. Pirates? Yes - if it fits into the story... Arrrr
  2. I think Companions should "at least" complain if they are forced to walk naked into a group of monsters - if that is against their character that is
  3. I think it should be allowed to kill companions... but not because I would take advantage of that. Disallowing this act would just be felt as a limitation by the players in my opinion. I would instead go for drastic consequences considering other (surviving) companions. Those should act accordingly or ask themselves if they are next maybe... And: I liked Aeries Character very much, even if some people don't share this opinion.
  4. I would not want to force such a design descission on the developers, but if they are happy with it I am all for it.
  5. I just changed my opinion to "no", since I want the single player experience to have as much focus as possible. The Interview Obsidian gave suggested that even 3-4 Million is not a big budget for what we would like to see.
  6. Im really undecided about a travel map, because it can be implemented in many ways good or bad. The one implemented in Storm of Zehir was not really my favourite because it felt like a minigame. Baldurs Gate had a "map" too, but you wouldn't see the transition between places other than the added time. I personally think a full fledged global map to walk around on would just distract from the core game and bring with it other issues like "camping" when the group is tired and so on - which is gracefully hidden on a locations-only-map. Better Keep it Simple on this game and don't make too many experiments.
  7. The bodies are drawn very detailed, but I found the "high res" BG2 portraits more to my liking. They had more color and liveliness as the above example. (I just saw an Imoen Avatar above I think) The pictures here look beautiful - yes - but a bit lifeless and more suited for nameless characters. But that is just my opinion.
  8. Normally i prefer the traditional races, but in this case I would leave it entirely up to Obsidian, since their creative heads surely have the big picture forming in their minds. Before all it has to fit into the world. Humans would be nice.
  9. Including a "Dating Sim" into the Character Development like it was done in BG2,NWN2 and DAO is a good addition to character development in my opinion, as long as the player has the choice to ignore it alltogether. Since this game will not become a 3D-Monster it is save to assume that there won't be any scenes like there were in DAO. I absolutely loved the the way BG2 included this theme, and I was really flashed with motivation when Aerie got abducted (oops Spoiler...) I voted for 3.
  10. I have pleged to the campaign on a basis of trust, even though information is seeded pretty thin on the first day of kickstarter. When Obsidian started this Project - I am sure - they knew what type of player they were asking for the money, and what type of game they would expect. So I am really hopeful that it will be clarified soon that the game features meet our expectations. My expectation is a mix of: Full Party Size Tactic RPG (6+) Party Interaction with 10+ playable characters Epic Storyline (centered on the main Character) Player choices(options) that matter! Stronghold (like NWN2 or BG2) Long playtime Believable world with lots of background info Possible continuation of storyline in a sequel. I think all of this and more could be reached with the right stretch goals and our funding.
  11. In my opinion BG1 is not overrated but rather still underrated, because it has "full" party size unlike newer games (like the other above mentioned) and did many things the right way "first". I still like Bioware pretty much even though they are getting corrupted by the dark side of the game industry. DA2 was quite good, if a bit linear and short and ME3 is more of a Shooter than anything else (in my opinion) - wich doesn't make it a bad game. I can't say much about KOTOR, but I think that it is one step backwards from the ingenious titles of BG1 and BG2 and of course Planescape Torment. (Icewinddale had a good feel to it too, but the PCs were too lifeless for an imersive game)
