  6. In the recent Obsidian PAX panel, they specifically mentioned putting in the option to start a fight against an enemy who was just too powerful to beat (I'm guessing one of the Archons), which had QA ask them why they put the option in. After that, they decided to remove the option or at least made taking the option not result into death. Watch again, they didn't say it was removed. They added a warning and an option to back off.
  7. Getting a Game Over isn't the only consequence an RPG can impose on you. Being able to jump into the pit in PoE was basically a one-off gimmick. Weird thing to get attached to, but I doubt it's what they have in mind here anyway.

  14. That's not really true. I suppose I've become the public face of the Codex, but typically it's other staff members who communicate with developers. There was a collective decision to invest more work into the site starting from around 2012. It wasn't so much a "court publishers and developers" agenda as it was a "do more stuff" agenda, where "doing more stuff" naturally also includes talking to developers. That decision coincided with the beginning of the Kickstarter-driven RPG renaissance, and so the Codex was effective in riding that wave.

  19. Judging by that statement alone it could also be a game that starts with a new character and just imports world state like Dragon Age, but it probably won't be.
  20. It didn't split it (so a solo character wouldn't get 6x as much experience) but you did get progressively more experience the smaller your party was.
