  1. A lot of the demo flaws are in the full game. Frame issues on PS3 really bad at the start, talk about not making a good first impression. Lip syncing that would put a Chienese MA movie to shame. Low texture quality and overall lacking in that final coat of shiny polish. Reaper mini game is kind of silly like Shepard is playing an 8 bit in his spare time.
  2. For those so inclined, Shamus Young of the Escapist penned an absolutely massive critique of the terrible Thieves Guild questline here. Yeah, it's something like five parts, but it's fairly incisive in its criticism, and many of his complaints are immediately applicable to most of the game. Young's experience is pretty much the same as mine. I gave Skyrim about 10 hours and then got wrecked by the usual problems facing stealth-based characters in worlds that level up alongside you, but that was far from the root of my problems with it: brainless fps gameplay with no tactical considerations, no significant choices (or consequences), and quests and enemies that are palpably and purposely generic for the sake of infinite 'radiant' questing. I don't see the point in this game at all, unless it's a sort of avant-garde implicit critique of the Narrative Vacuum of the Sandbox that game designers are supposed to take to heart and never repeat (whether in error or intentionally) ever again. You should try KOA really good fun being a rogue in that.
  3. Making a Prothean DLC is just a cynical money grab. Once ME3 is done Bioware don't have anything else but the damaged DA brand or something new. All this bad PR could well come back and bite them.
  4. Pretty sure it's just some cosmetic items like rings and amulets. They may have even been made free to all by now. Have you checked Amazon last time I looked it was around
  5. First time I walked really slowly looking at everything. Big mistake as it turns out I saw the gimpy animation, the 2d sprites and the scripted nature of the Reaper attack. Maybe they were banking on people running and not noticing. It's because it's a Prothean and not just some random guy. Protheans have been part of ME lore from the start to make one options is just a cyncal money grab.
  6. says everything really. I agree with the inclusion of online passes to encourage buying new over used. I've never been assaulted by a clerk trying to sell me used over new. By renting from Blockbuster I'm not giving money to EA/Bioware abd I don't have to boycott the game. Although if the demo is indicative of the overall quality I may just not care. I would post a spoiler waring but it seems that ship has sailed.
  7. ............... Hey, even in the Demo, which is free, and open to everyone at this point, occasionally it's a little slower with the MP. Most times I've had it where I join up and the match starts almost immediately, but there have been times when it's gotten pretty long waiting. If those periods are hitting during the demo when it's free to everyone without having to buy a game...I'm not that optimistic about how it's going to be when the full game and MP come out. Linking it in to get the best ending could end up backfiring ?
  8. If they release it for the PSV or other handheld I'm in. I just can't play TB games on a TV/console/computer I don't know why.But I play them quite happily on handhelds.
  9. Six from BattleStar Galactica AKA Tricia Helfer http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1065454/
  10. Canadians always seem like such nice people.
  11. problem with that statement is, a lot of games are buggy, not just Obsidian's games. and a lot of companies release one buggy game after another. yet somehow it's only Obsidian that is getting the bad rep. people just need something to whine about, and since Obsidian's games are all uncut gems, that's the only thing people can really complain about and not feel bad about themselves I agree but they did release a string of games with some pretty hefty bugs. Most studious get away with it because the bugs are not so serious and they don't have 2 or 3 releases in a go (well there is Bethesda) Bioware took a beating after DA2 but ME2 whether you like it or not was solid. ME3 50/50 could go either way looking at the demo. I also agree about the uncut gems but if people are not willing to dig to find them because of the overall quality , there is very little you can do. I think Obsidian can shake the reputation if the next couple of releases are both impressive and relatively bug free.
  12. On the Bioware boards it said they called her cancer. I never read the link though , that was just in the title.
  13. I agree, but telling gamers she wants an "I win" button so she can skip the game. That's probably something she would have been better keeping to herself.
  14. I always wonder about that too. It's not like it does the company any good living in an isolated bubble of fandom. I frequent quite a lot of sites and I often hear people saying how buggy Obsidian games are. Which is sad, but true. There is a lot of really good stuff under the bugs but you can't blame people for avoiding games with that sort of reputation either.
  15. Does the 360 have a cache file ? It's been about 6 months since I last booted mine up but I seem to recall a similiar problem in Oblivion and deleting something or reseting it got it fixed.
  16. As many, not as many. The point is Obsidian released enough really buggy games to get a reputation. I left one out on purpose because I have great sympathy for the circumstances. Anyway I don't want to derail the thread any longer I hope things go well for Tim.
  17. Or maybe you should replay any Bethesda title ever made. Or actually consider the fact that they are now using their own tech, instead of someone elses horrible code without proper support when things do go wrong. If it were a problem unique to NV you may have a point. But since AP was also buggy , not really seeing it.
  18. Overall I like it but just like in the game the kid somehow cheapens it. Cheers for the link.
  19. I'm not asking if the PC version will work . Rather would FO work as a PSVita game ? SquareEnix have been rerealising the old classics on the PSP/DS/3DS. And on the handhelds they don't look anywhere near as aged as they do on a big screen. I have no idea who owns what with regards to IP's but is the idea worth considering? I used the PSVita because it's the latest one but PSP/3DS any of them are fine.
  20. Maybe so. I played a lot of games after the fact (like years after release) so my attitude is likely to be somewhat different to someone who experienced things "in the day" @Flouride DS3 was a solid title granted. But it will take something with a bit more ambition to shake that reputation.
  21. someone from a company with a reputation for bugs joining a company with a reputation for bugs... I reserve judgement or hope they cancel each other out and result in bug free products.
  22. The thing you get in the DLC, I think Overlord. They came free with the PS3 version, only reason I know.
  23. I prefered to just use the Mako like an APC and get out and snipe everything. You get an XP bonus too , which is handy for getting rid of that sway asap.
  24. I played it, I'm looking at the game card right now which for some reason was tucked under the computer. But you know I can't remember a single thing about it.. I'm quite shocked that it's left absolutely no lasting impression what so ever.
  25. Tough choice.. Xbox planet scanning probably not it was sloooooooow. They sped it up quite a bit in the PS3 version so I'd take that over the Mako.
