  1. Well, I'm not ready to say that yet. If the developers take Bioshock 2 further than they took the first one. Try to make it actually interesting and fun, then it could be good. Eliminating those res tubes and bring the Fps combat up to par with opther fps games would be a good start all be itself. I thyink they need to choose a gameplay direction and then go hard in that direction. Is it an FPS, survival horror, adventure, crpg? They need to choose what they want to emphasize. If they want to contine in ther FPs mode then they need to be better weapon design, better enemies, more varied enemies, better enemy AI, and smoother combat. If they choose to push survival horror, then they combat doesn't need to be improved so much as the resource management and fear factor. They need to to focus on what elements they wnt to push.
  2. Haha! Oh yes! The always good "moar buttons means smartar gameplay" argument. Well, more buttons doesn't mean a BETTER game certainly. But it might often mean one that has more options and therefore more interesting gameplay.
  3. You are going to join the uncountable legions of the BOS and fight the endless hordes of Super Mutants of course Endless hordes of random encounters. I don't think that a Fallout MMORPG is going to attempt to recreate the single player experience of the first 3 Fallouts. More likely, it is going to open up the Fallout gameworld by allowing players to assume many of the different races and professions seen in the single player games. I thknk it would be pretty cool to play as a supermutant.
  4. DO the Big Dadday's really need to come back? They weren't that interesting to begin with. And what interest they had faded quickly as they repeated the exact same behaviors over and over again for every freaking level. That they are using BD as a selling point is a bad sign.
  5. Massively populated wasteland being the oxymoron it is, I think it's a poor candidate. Being isolated on a blighted landscape as the lone vault dweller is a big part of what made fallout tick. Just you and dogmeat... Throw in several thousand more vault dwellers and it's not quite the same. What are you all going to team up and kill giant robot tanks like in tactics or something? Retarded. If the game requires everyone to0 play a vault dweller, then that would be pretty limited. I agree. I would assume though though that they would follow on WoW's success and allow gamers to play different races and classes. SUpermutants, ghouls, raiders, brotherhood of steel and so forth. Split gamers up across multiple servers to keep the density as low as is neccessary, and I don't see a peroblem.
  6. I think the graphics in a Fallout MMORPG would have to be a little less stylized and a little more realistic than WoW. The gameworld is too different for that sort of extreme cartoony approach to work. Cartoon Fallout would pretty much kill my interest right there.
  7. The Fallout IP is a pretty good candidiate for a MMORPG though. Especially in light of the recent success of FO3. A lot of people know the name Fallout now who didn't before. In that sense Beth did Interplay a gigantic favor. Plus it's a MMORPG world that would offer a real alternative in a landscape dotted (littered) with High Fantasy swords and sorcery MMORPGs. Only speaking personally, this is the first MMORPG that really has appeal for me. Depending of course, on how it ultimately turns out.
  8. I'm starting to get bored. I think I made too many low-level characters. Really, I've said it before and I'll say it again. The combat is really poor and hard to enjoy, though I've tried. Even tried using VATS, but that is so static and tedious that it is completely intolerable. They should have made this a real FPS like STALKER. It would have been great.
  9. Source: http://forum.worldofplayers.de/forum/showp...mp;postcount=93 Let's hope they can keep that level of performance all the way to the end! If this is going to run well on an XBOX, how can it not run great on a good pc?
  10. lol. Swiss Army Minigun.
  11. One of my characters found him on the street near Bigtown. Several of them found him in the scrapyard just east of Meresti trainyard. So there's is some randomness to his appearance. http://www.madmaxmovies.com/archives/Press...axDogHuddle.jpg Purebred blue heelers (Australian cattle dogs) have dark eyes, but heterochromia is common among them as well as in Australian shepherds. Thanks, Josh. That's cool.
  12. Yeah, that was one of the very first things I noticed. There ARE female NPCS mercs that can be your buddies, but you can't choose to play them, though you can play any of the males. That is so blatant that it must have been a conscious decision on the part of the developers (by conscious, I mean they thought about it, then rejected it). I would be curious to know what the rationale was. It can't possibly be that too much additional modeling or artwork was required.
  13. Hookers are not required; they are however helpful. If rocket guns are in; then everything else is a bonus.
  14. I found Harold. It was cool of the Beth guys to bring him back. But that whole scenario felt more like something that belonged in the Shivering Isles not in Fallout 3.
  15. It depends what you can tolerate. As a shooter, it feel slightly more sophisticated than Doom. But the levels are great, the weapons are cool, the world environment is fab. Again, this is all for its time. There's even a story. Kind of. I'm thinking it was the first shooter I ever played that had sort of "real world" levels that were part of each other. There was also exploration and stuff. SOme cool AI battles. Tanks. Flying cars. Bars. Hookers. Rocket guns. What more could you ask for?
  16. I don't know. WHich one are we using? Awesome game. Way ahead of its time. One of those totally forgotten should be classics that gets none of the attention it deserves.
  17. Stop causing trouble! Why is he higher than Levine? They have had similar careers but Levine's is better. I guess maybe through his association with Spector.
  18. Well he ran over a mine and survived. And I noticed that health regen, too. I also noticed that he has one green eye and one blue eye.
  19. How tough is Dogmeat? Is there any point to dragging him around with me? Is he just going to get blown up by the first missile that hits him?
  20. Stop making me want to play Fallout again. I've got enough things going on that I really don't have the time for it. Just stop.
  21. I can't believe Redneck Rampage, Shadow Warrior and Hexen are now old school. :/
  22. It is worth playing, although you will need to either tweak the game yourself or download fixes to get everything working. Is it different from the released version of SOC? Or just less polished?
  23. The logic of Bethesda. Tis a wonder to behold.
