That was the basis for my question really. What kind of diet prevents someone from having enough glucose? I haven't found any mention of low glucose ever being a dietary problem, versus say low protein or low calcium or other dietary defeciencies that do get talked about it. If you have diabetes 1 or 2, your body still gets the glucose; it simply can't utilize it properly.
-
you NEED glucose to provide fuel for your brain (look it up on wiki if you're not convinced), not "different types of sugars." fructose does not substitute for glucose as it digests differently. processed sugar is sucrose, which breaks down into a glucose molecule and a fructose molecule. carbs do the same, i.e., they break down into simple sugars. taks I'm not asking my question properly. I can't find any nutriton site that says you need to supplement a diet of fruits and vegetables and grains and nuts with additonal sugars. IE, you need to drink soda along with your broccolli in order to have a compete diet.

Is that a total fan-created patch? Or are there developers involoved? Its always a little gross when fans have to fix games that developers can't be arsed to bother fixing. I didn't pay the fans 60 USD. Cool deal on that patch though.

I don't really disagree. I'm currently playing FO3 and having to empty 2 30 round magazines to bring down a charging raider is pretty disruptive to gameplay. For me, it's just LESS disruptive than chance to hit.
-
it definitely is. But its weird when you are shooting at an enemy at point blank range and you keep missing because your skill isn't high enough. For me, personally, chance to hit is the big one. Having chance to hit based on stats is fine in a squad level tactical game, but in a first or third person action games it really makes the game seem clunky. Having stats affect damage or weapon degradation or the availability of special attacks is fine. edit: grammar!
-
What do you mean by "not based on stats"? There are definitely stats involved. I was under the impression that in AP, stats do not affect chance to hit. Did I misread that somewhere?
-
Stat based shooting in a game not like Jag 2 or XCOM usually doesn't work very well. Which means, I agree. I would have preferred the game to be in first person, but other than that, I am hopeful.

But it's a LOT more awesome.

For 72.45, you'd better. I could have gotten a lower level membership, true. But I didn't want to be limited to what hours I coudl go there. Anyway, the convenience is great. Its lliterally a five minute walk from my building. Heck, it may be three minute walk. That kind od accessibility saves a lot of time and money there. Did I mention I get free towels? And they have spray bottles.

$80? I don't know. I'm in the 3rd year of a three year membership so I don't remember the exact price. It's in my monthly budget at $100. It's a pretty common city sports club: http://www.mysportsclubs.com/default.htm edit: You made me curious so I went and checked. I pay $72.45/month. edit2: I get free towels.

Glen Cook's most recent series is great. The only fantasy I've enjoyed in recent years. I am waiting for the third book pretty anxiously. I have read some of the very early Black Company stuff and found it rather flat. Cook seems to ahve improved greatly as a writer between then and now.

If I had enough spare floor space and cash I wouldn't be opposed to working out at home, but mostly I find it easier and ultimately cheaper to go down the street (5 minute walk) and use somebody else's equipment 5 days a week. For my roughly $100 a month it works out to about 5 dollars a visit, which is OK with me. And on the issue of seat and towels. A little sweat is no big deal. But when somebody leaves a puddle of it behind, its kinda gross. My biggest concern about gyms is exposure to MRSA, and that may become a greater issue over the coming years.

True. To make the comparison between the two, I should probably just have said combat. Anyway, as DX showed, even if the combat isn't great, if the rest of the game is good, mediocre combat can be tolerated. But I am hoping the AP will bridge that gap and make me happy.
-
I felt Deus Ex's first person combat was poor. It was still a fine game, but I tolerated the combat because the rest of the game was so good. I never enjoyed the combat. I'm hopeful AP can combine enjoyable FPS combat with a more complex gameworld than your average shooter.

Its pretty sad that there are only about 720 mountain gorillas remaining in the wild.

I was curious and chased a few links on google and can find nothing that indicates that people need different types of sugars. The only thing related that I have been able to find, from multiple places, is that the natural sugar in raw fruits and vegetables is fine, but that all other sugar is not. The only thing I can think is that taks is correct and that it was more of a reference to consuming quickly accessible sugar for health reasons. Or something. I have no plans to change my diet to include processed/added sugar after years of avoiding it. Unless someone can provide links that would indicate such is desireable. WHich I haev been unable to find.
-
I've never heard of needing multiple types of sugar. WHile there are different types; I've never heard of needing one type in particular.

I didn't know there had ever been a Max Payne 2. Now that I do know, it is sure to keep me awake at night.

If I play this game again, I am so adding a mod to slow down weapon degradation speed. It is absolutely proposterous. Following Di's advice I went down into DC and did the stuff for three dog to help him get his signal running again. Despite going into the quest with an almost perfect condition combat shotgun and three lower condition spares in inventory for reparing, the weapon was almost useless from degradation long before I finished the quest. The repair system wouldn't be so bad if you could repair a weapon with any other weapon, but as it stands now, it is just annoying. Its much worse than System Shock 2, which I didn't really believe was possible.

Stop it with them negative waves. Secret agents are much more of a saleable commodity that freaky things like Big Daddys
-
Unfortunately I'm not sure how much competition AP will be. I'm guessing AP will be more of a slow and steady seller, whereas Bioshock 2 will fly off the shelves at release. Super sekret agent vs mutant freak in a diving suit shooting fire out of its arse? No. AP will crush Bioshock 2. Like a bug. It will be ugly. Assuming Sega actually gets around to marketing the game.

I paid $49 USD for Dungeon Lords. I also paid $49 USD for Dungeon SIege. I can't say which was the worse. Was it the completely unfinished one? Or the completely terrible one? EIther wasy it was close to 100 USD totally wasted for a grand total of about 2 hours of really awful gaming.

A year down the road and no one will even remember or care that it was ever anything but Syfy. Just like no one thinks Wii = Urine anymore. Wii=wholesome fun games the entire family, even gramma can enjoy. Just because it will be accepted and forgotten doesn't make it any less stupid. That's probably true. But really, the scifi channel has almost no sci fi programming left. ANd with BSG ending soon, there's not much to recommend from a science ficition perspective. Scifis most popular shows are ECW and Ghost Hunters, with Ghost Hunters International doing well, and Destination: Truth has a third season in production, and a third Ghost HUnter's spin-off is currently in production with Pilgrim. So reality shows and wrestling. My guess is they are really going to move away from the concept of being a scifi channel once they make the name change. Which makes sense to me. So they might as well change the name anyway.
