Who were your favorite characters in KotOR?
Lord Tingeling replied to Darque's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
@proctophantasmist: It was Malak who ordered Saul to attack Telos, not Revan. Revan had already been wiped when it happened. -
Considering the fact that the silly buggers even made *me* a moderator seems to suggest that you'll have a three-digit chance of making it, Buns . EDIT: Jackal is one of those Jackals(!!!) from "Lion King". The one that's always frothing at the mouth, if I were to take a guess.

I don't know how long I can hold out. Not being able to bother slowtrain is getting on my nerves.

What's with developers' obsession with D&D?
Lord Tingeling replied to Macolio's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
As Enoch said over @ Iply, SPECIAL is a skill system, not a combat system. Therefore, wheter it's implemented in a RT or TB engine is irrelevant, since it will still be the same system. -
To what? Your suggestion. I prefer the interface as it is.

A ninja RPG? Meh, gots to go find it, then. There's too few of them around, sadly. Now, Ninja action games or Beat em' up games are quite common, but I want to play them in RPG's as well. Now, a Kotor, where Jedi = Ninja would be godsend, mind you.

Hmmm.... "Force Ninjas"...? Won't work.... "Space Ninjas"?... getting closer, but still.... W00t, "School Ninjas" sounds just about right! Ahem, I support this idea, but only if you have a few crafting skills thrown in. Like making your own 'School Ninja Smoke Bombs' in chemistry, or making your own 'School Ninja 100% Authentic Force Katana' during breaktime. As for the rulesets, 's got to be 3.5E. Just think about the possibilities... a 'School Ninja/IT Geek/Cheerleader Stalker' multiclass! And the feats... "Skill focus: IT Geekness" "Devastating Critical: Force Katana" "Shower Room Stalker"(+5 bonus to hide when stalking in the girl's/guy's shower room".... EDIT: Behold the divine power of the Ninjas!

I say nay. PS: kthxbye.

*And* the "Rainbow Side", *And* "Force Katanas". Back to your cage, Darque.

Light and Dark are so overrated. I want "Rainbow"

Hmm, I always thought the name was "Card Captor Sakura". -
Thoughts on Mandatory Combat
Lord Tingeling replied to triCritical's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Hmm, I agree with most things newc said. The Jedi purge. You know, not too long (relatively speaking) before episode IV. Because it might have been very expensive and there were very few jedi around? Well, a lightsaber doing only a little more damage than your average plain longsword is indeed a bit strange. -
Thoughts on Mandatory Combat
Lord Tingeling replied to triCritical's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Let me clarify: I have never claimed you could RP a pacifist in FO, or that Fallout series offered great non-combat alternatives. My point is, however, that Fallout1 *does* offer a "pacifist" (read: non-combat) alternative to the standard hack'n slay path through the game. You can build a "pacifist build", and you can play it to it's fullest. (Never entering combat through the whole game). That's it. Period. (oh gawd, oh gawd, oh gawd. Volournian parasites have started to infect my brain, it seems) PS: There is no truth, there is only Spam. My Spam. -

Lord Tingeling replied to triCritical's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
(C'mon, LT. Deep breaths. *Deep breaths*) I did not ask you if you could RP it, Volo. Now, since you can build that pacifist char, can you play it fully (i.e, avoiding combat)? You have your definitions crossed. Thats not a pacifist thats a coward. It's all in the eye of the beholder, Pally. -

How about sparing *ME* the headache and answering the question, then? If I'm not wrong, this is more relevant to the topic at hand than the ongoing discussion about KoTOR's feats... -

Take a guess. "EDIT: OMG, Volo, you're twisting the definition again! I see no T-72's or any other MBT or armoured veichle in NWN!!!!!" Next question: Can you do a "pacifist build" and play it fully (i.e a character avoiding all **COMBAT**) in Fallout 1? (Note that I did not ask you if you could RP Fallout as a pacifist, so don't try to pull that one on me, eh, Volo?) -

Lord Tingeling replied to triCritical's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Why do I do this!? God, I never realized I was such a masochist. Volo, tell me... can you play as a tank char in NWN? Yes? No? D.S: I see you still haven't got the point. Do keep trying, Volo. -
Thoughts on Mandatory Combat
Lord Tingeling replied to triCritical's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Sorry, Volo, I don't smoke. As for the matter at hand, my point still stands. You can be a pacifist in FO1, i.e a character that doesn't actively partake in combat, just as much as you can be a tank in NWN by soaking up massive amounts of damage. "Joe is a pacifist" != "My character is a pacifist" "That's a tank" != "My character is a tank" They can mean the same thing, and you might be playing some sort of medieval MBT in NWN as we speak, who knows. But the definiton "meat shield" "tank" or "pacifist" often have different meanings when talking about characters in various games. Satisfied, or are you going to fling a few more periods around? -

Lord Tingeling replied to triCritical's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
must...resist...Volournian...logic... Oh, well. Nice try, Volo. As for the "I want a total pacifist option", he could either be talking about A: Not resorting to combat B: Thou shalt not kill Given his other posts, which of these do you think he was talking about? I haven't seen him saying "without killing even once" here or anywhere else. I have seen him saying "without entering combat even once", though. Who knows, maybe they mean the same thing in Volournia? -
Thoughts on Mandatory Combat
Lord Tingeling replied to triCritical's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
THAT...IS...NOT...THE *POINT*! The point is not wheter you can be a "pacifist" as in one who opposes all forms of violence or killing in FO1, the point is wheter you can be a so called "pacifist character", as in the [popular] RPG character definition of the word. My warrior in NWN is pretty much a tank. [Volournian logic] What's the RPM of it's main cannon? Where's the machineguns? How good is his front armor plating? What kind of calibre are we talking, here? [/Volournian logic] -
Thoughts on Mandatory Combat
Lord Tingeling replied to triCritical's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
This thread is about mandatory combat in RPG's. A person not partaking in such acts of combat is called a pacifist, "period". I don't know about this shwoning, but it's 00:30 here right now, and I'm getting pretty tired. So, when I need to add that finishing lame one-liner to my post, I turn to the most obvious source. -

Volo stikes again! You *can* be a total Pacifist in FO1. Don't think it can be done in 2, though. Stop spreading myths, rumours and innuendo. -
What I want to see in KOTOR II
Lord Tingeling replied to Fearless_Jedi's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I want the game to ditch this "D&Dization" style of combat (i.e people standing around like lightposts exchanging blows/shots until someone drops). This will never happen, so I'll settle for black/pink lightsabers. And Space Ninjas jumping around and swinging their "Force Katanas" like crazy.
