  1. You still have more hours than him logged in overall. So says Xfire!
  2. No. Never needed to. When I'm attacking it's usually against a city and with vanilla RTW I generally had my city buster army of a 4 Praetorian Cavalry, 4 (Heavy) Onagers and a couple Legionaires. Onagers break through the walls and the Cavalry swarms through and makes a beeline for the city centre where they take out anything there. If I get attacked, I deploy my troops as far as possible from the enemy depending on the terrain. If there is hill closer to the enemy then I'll take that. Usually my armies are composed of 1 General (5 Star minimum before I use them in combat.), 8-10 legions (the kind depend on what the best I have is.), 4 archers, 5 Cavalry (3 on one side with the other 2 opposite side with the general and an optional 2 seige equipment if I only have 8 Legions. This would really tear through just about everything I faced. Made mincemeat out of the barbarian tribes to the north and took just about everything that the Carthaginians could throw at them except a charge by a number of group elephants. Against the greeks it would make them pincusions (substitute in a couple extra archers in place of a couple legions) and then flank them with the cavalry. Granted I never took on any of the eastern factions like Egypt or the Seleucids. If I'm going to take over part of a continent I'm going to take the whole thing so I got the most experience playing against the Barbarians to the north and the Greeks to the East.
  3. I played vanillia RTW on Very Hard/Very Hard. I just never fought a battle unless I knew I could win it. I think I exaggerated a little. I meant that I never had an entire army routed except that once. Every couple battles I'll have a unit or two decide to rout but I usually gain control of them again before they leave the map.
  4. Wow. I think you are the first person to admit watching and liking this "film". Ever. It is known as one of the worst movies ever made. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I wonder what was in that box on the doorstep yesterday... "
  5. I've only had my guys routed once and that was because I had a 2000 man stack that had to contend with 4 others of the sames size. I could have won if I had unlimited ammo for my archers/onagers who ran out during the third wave. The 4th group was allowed to approach my battered Legionaires without coming through a hail of arrows. <_<

    Ottawa - Toronto: 7 - 0 Can't wait for monday night. "
  7. Election Cheat Sheet <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thanks A few questions 1. Whats the voting system? e.g. proportional representation? 2. When was the last time, if ever, a single party had a strong majority in parliament. 3. Which tax is the biggest source of govt revenue? 4. WHat is GST (tax)? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> 1. First past the post system. All that matters is who wins a riding. You can win more seats with fewer votes if you win all the close riding but lose the one sided ridings. 2. 18 months ago, before the last federal election. 3. Not too sure on this as the only taxes I pay are the GST and PST. 4. GST = Goods and Services Tax, or the Gouge and Screw Tax as my dad just put it. It was created in 1991 by Brian Mulroney. Interesting that you should say that. My final exam in history is an exam where I have to describe the creation of a distinct Canadian culture through the 18-20th centuries. Either that, or I can argue that we don't have a distinct culture.

The Leafs are being pwned by the Senators again. " 6-0 with 25 minutes left to go in the game. Belfour is still in net.
  10. Damn you... I'm planning on starting off as an MP and introducing such bills as the "Right to run over slow moving pedestrians bill". From there I'll become Prime Minister for a term or two and then settle down as a senator till I'm 75. After that I might consider retiring from the world of politics. There is only so many days one can skip showing up for work as a senator before they get rid of you. "
  11. I haven't played many mods really beyond a couple that are in the Hall of Fame, but thanks for point out that Black Thorn mod. That was fun! Although not really all that difficult. I completed it with just under 2 hours to go.
  12. You're just trying to ruin my future job! :'( EDIT: Personally, even though I can't vote in this election as I'm still 10 months away from being considered old enough, I really don't like any of the candidates. All of the local candidates are idiots... <_<
  13. Unfortunatly I don't remember when I picked them up. It's been many years since I've played Progress Quest. My Deraldin character was created way back when the BIS boards still existed and we had a guild back then I think. The motto was based on the fact that Onkel was usually just one or two places ahead of me. <_< Del Tearo was actually started even before Deraldin as my first account. It looks like I'll have to start over again though as I can't find my backup cd's that had older copies of the progress quest save. I'll check if the old computer still works tommorow as it might still be on that if I'm lucky. Brand new character just created on Expodrine: "Deral" Apparently there is a character named Deraldin at level 1 so I can't use that name. Must have created at some point then lost the save.
  14. Gamespot seems to think it's pretty good. Nartwak: I think that's as high as he's going to get though. I think the save game was lost when my hard drive crashed. <_< And my other character from Spoltog:
  15. I'd be interested in playing a weekly game. I've got nothing but time on my hands right now as I'm just about to start a new semester and so will have a small amount of course work for the next while.
  16. Shadowlords/Dreamcatcher and Twilight/Midnight are the first ones that come to mind. Not much in the way of side quests for the NPC's although they are there and there is interation between you and the NPC. The first set has 3 different NPC's to choose between. Twilight/Midnight has one character for you to interact with who had a detailed background with some priceless interactions between your character and the NPC. "
  17. That would be nice, I would like to make a little mod. Something that deals with drow I believe, being a fan of them. A shame you can't make joinable npcs like you could with Baldur's Gate. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> What do you mean you couldn't make joinable NPC's. There are several mods that had custom made joinable NPC's.
  18. I wonder if I can hijack that AT-AT with Han/Chewie... " EDIT: W00T! It works! I can take over the AT-AT!
  19. So far from what I've been able to play in the demo it's a lot of fun. It runs like crap on my system at anything above the lowest settings though. I really need to get a new computer. <_<
  20. I'm installing as we speak. Too bad I can't play for another 4 fours or so as I have a PnP game to play...
  21. Amazing, I'm now getting more than a KB/s! " EDIT: Screw that. I made it through the line at file planet. 250kb/s should be done in 50 minutes.
  22. Someone is hogging all my bancwidth right now so it's telling me that I have 18 hours left. :'(
  23. It's about damn time! Downloading now.
  24. Yeah, I thought about that after I posted everything else, but it didn't click that I had to go back and edit. I think maybe I'll do that later. I wish I could get some sleep. <_< I've got less than 5 hours during which to finish project/presentation that is worth 15% of my final grade and I'm only about half done. I need more caffeine... It's going to be a long day today.
  25. I wasn't trying to say that the dragon will always do 120 damage. I was referring to how 120 is the maximum damage that a dragon can do and not always what it will do. Most of the time it will do less. About a third of the time it will do 40HP or less. EDIT: It makes sense to my sleep deprived brain. Yay exam time. <_<
