  1. Like I said, that would be my guess. How else would you go about it?
  2. All indications are that the alignment management for NwN2 is modelled (and improved) on the KotOR2 one. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> But that raises some issues. Would you only be able to multi-class into being a paladin or monk? If you start off at true neutral, you wouldn't be able to yet utilize all class abilities when taking an alignment-restricted core class You'd have to do a LOT of good, lawful deeds before you could utilize the paladin? What then, eh? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I would guess that you select your starting alignment and from there on it can change.
  3. I think I may have to pass on Company of Heroes at least until I get a new graphics card. Playing through that demo again I was experiencing massive lag this time after I had three times as many units on screen all firing and throwing up clouds of dust. I can hear my poor 9600 Pro crying as it struggles to output more than a single frame per second judging by how much of a slideshow my defence of the church became. Several stugs dueling with my AT guns throws up an awful lot of dust that my card just can't handle. It took me 30 clicks to finally select one of my troops because the game wasn't responding.
  4. Looks like I'm right in the middle here. One of my friends is 6'9". " He was pretty solidly built. Played on the rugby team every year. I'm right around 6' right now and I've pretty much stopped growing.
  5. Lost the ability to edit my last post, so here is a new one with my new desktop. I took this picture from the deck of a ferry on the way back to Vancouver after a short stay in Victoria as part of my BC vacation in July. Not much to it, but I like it. It actually came out better then some of the other pictures that had something in them, but were zoomed in so much that they were all fuzzy. <_<
  6. 1440x900 right? " I'm currently using the default rolling hills picture from Windows XP after I recently reformatted and have yet to put all my settings back to normal.
  7. I'm currently watching Wing Commander on TV, because there really is nothing else on. )
  8. Regular version it is then. I got pushed back to the church as well, but only because the artillery knocked out the HQ. I could easily have held the bridges if the artillery shots hadn't started hitting my bridge defences. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> the last campaign mission is fun... the "bonus" objective for the medal is to kill 300 guys. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You've beaten the game already? Not very long is it?

  10. well they will generally survive a bit longer than in most other RTS's in that position. The problem is that in the game the MG's are supported by infantry. thus the MG's pin your poor infantry and then the other infantry murder them with extreme hate Also it's hard to get by a building inhabited by a mg team with infantry because almost instantly the poor suckers get suppressed and won't move at all.and otherwise it's just flat out hard to kill anything in a building without a flamethower. (gators and engineers are perfect for this. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It just seemed like the were far to healthy. Playing the demo mission where you have to protect the three bridges I had set up a machine gun nest on each of the three bridges with a machine gun squad in a building overlooking the bridge and a squad of rangers behind a set of sandbags. The machine gunners would almost instantly supress the infantry coming at me, however I never managed to actually pin them down and really start doing some damage. By the time I finished them all off, the next wave was already attacking. <_< It was pretty fun anyway. Is the collector's edition worth the extra money? Right now I have the option of getting the colelctors edition for $60 or the regular for $40 and I'm not sure if the collector's is worth an extra $20.
  11. Just finished playing the Company of Heroes demo. I must say that it does seem pretty interesting, however it feels as though infantry are a little to hardened. They seem to survive a little too well when faced with machine gun fire. <_<
  12. Last semester I was going on usually about 4-5 hours of sleep on weeknights and 12 on the weekend. I was fine for the most part, although there were times were it was hard to keep my eyes open during history class at the end of the day. Now I don't have any classes in the morning so I can sleep till 9:30 instead of 7:30.
  13. Thanks. Has anymore been said? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Not that I know of. I would have preferred a second wii-mote instead of Wii Sports.
  14. Seriously, is there a link to a reputable article which states that it won't be a feature in the Wii, or has one been posted and I just missed it? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well there is this.
  15. Isn't that the same thing? The difference being the second statement would allow for a $250 price exactly? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You're right. I guess I would just have different expectations for the two statments. Thanks for the DVD link though. EDIT: Were you refering to this quote? Because it's the only thing I see there that mentions DVD's.
  16. A couple months ago they told us it would play DVD movies and it would cost less than $250. Now it doesn't play DVDs and it still cost $250. How, exactly, does this help deliever the system at a "cheaper cost"? By no means a deal breaker, I guess, but don't piss on my back and tell me it's raining. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> They didn't say it would be less than $250, they said it would not be more than $250. Where did you hear about the DVD playback. I seem to recall hearing something about that but I can't find anything now. And to be fair, it does come with Wii Sports bundled into the $250 price tag.
  17. He meant for extra controllers. EDIT: Was referring to the comment made by deganawida. I can live with the price and everything else, but only one colour? They are doing the same thing that they did with the DS. I want a black console damnit!
  18. Certainly an interesting choice. I haven't read the books myself, however we have all three of them on the bookshelf upstairs. Might have to actually read them now...
  19. Why no delays? The reason why people introduce a delay is because it demonstrates the problem. You are destroying the molecules of the original person. Besides, it wouldn't be possible to do it without a delay. There's going to be an instant where both of you exist (when it verifies that the genetic code is correct). Nothing can be done instantaneously. And even if it was, your "teleportation" still isn't teleportation. It's simply copying and destroying the original. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Why must there be a delay before the original is removed from the picture after the clone is created? It must have the genetic code in order to be able to recreate the person on the other end right? The arguement is all about semantics anyway. Whether or not an exact copy of you is or is not you, if you no longer exist. Whether or not the example machine is actually "teleporting" or just recreating on the other side and so on. Just to clarify something here. The problem lies in the co-existance of two beings that share the same genetic make-up and memories/behaviour etc and then having to kill the original right? Would you have a problem with a teleporter like those demonstrated on Star Trek? How about the stargate from the various Stargate shows/movie? If one was to disintergrate the original, gather up all the atoms that composed him/her and then transported them to the destination somehow and reconstructed the individual from his original atoms would that make any difference to you?
  20. I had to bike to school in the rain this morning. I wake up just as my parents leave this morning and on their way out they decided to tell me, "Oh yeah! It's raining outside!" I'm left there thinking I wouldn't have minded if they woke me up early if it meant I got a ride to school and avoided the rain. Was still raining a little over an hour later when I left. <_<
  21. That's not so bad actually. I can probably get that working then. 4GB's of hard drive space is nothing compared to some games though. "
  22. What kind of hardware is one looking at in order to play this game?
  23. It has nothing to do with a soul. Imagine someone made a clone of you. Why would you expect to have conscious control over that clone? So when you die in the teleportation process, you yourself no longer exist, but rather your clone. Now your clone is a perfect replica of you, so to every other 3rd party observer, it looks and acts just like you. And it probably would. But the fact of the matter would still be that YOUR consciousness has been killed. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> But would it really make all that much of a difference to you? If the clone that is created on the other end is biologically you and has all your memories and such, then what would be the difference between you going there yourself and having a clone created there and the real you disposed of? The clone is for all intents and purposes you except when as some of the others here have done, is add in the existance of a soul. The clone thinks it is you and you are no longer there to know that you are the real you. I don't think I explained that as clearly as I could have. Understand what I'm trying to get at here?
  24. And the crappy thing is its only for one day. Tomorrow I'm back to my normal schedule. And now I can't go to bed now that I'm off work because I'll just wake up fully rested at 4 in the morning and its all screwed up again. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That really sucks. At least I don't have that problem. My schedule will remain the same for the next several months.
  25. How is it? We demand reviews before we purchase!
