TSL Restoration Project: The Phantom Deadline
Deraldin replied to Aurora's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
What pisses me off about those 3 minor bugs is that if you look at their bug tracking system, none of them have been worked on recently, and some go back to 2005. (I think it was 2005, to lazy to check again.) One is from just December 23rd 2005, another was from November 29th 2006 and the most recent was from less than a month ago, April 12th. -
Figures that Sand is a D100. And since he forgot here is his description Anyway, here is my result: No use trying to fight it, you're an eight-sided die, a d8. A fine example of simple elegance, the d8 is one of the least appreciated types of dice, and is often neglected. You are known to be quiet and shy, outward traits that conceal viscous sarcasm and mean wit. You are very smart, yet wise enough to hide your intelligence the quicker they found out how smart you are, the sooner they'll put you to work, which is something you can do without. People call you dark and pessimistic, or moody and cynical. You find little point in arguing.

Meeting Minimum Requirements and the definition
Deraldin replied to jodas's topic in Computer and Console
The Xpress line is not really meant for running games though. It's designed to be as cheap as possible and run all you desktop applications. It's not designed to play games. -
Nabokov seemed to be arguing pretty vehemently with the ref, but TSN cut the feed before they even showed a replay. I would have liked to see an overhead view that actually showed it in the net. Every other angle makes it hard to see. Just the fact that it bounced off both posts and right back out makes me skeptical. I haven't seen any articles about the goal though. :? @Hurlshot: It does seem to be a recurring theme. :D Did you see the shark that someone threw on the ice? How do you sneak something like that into the arena?

Um, wtf was with that Detroit goal? Did that actually go in? It bounced off the left post, across to the right post and then straight out. How was that a goal?

Real Breaking News: Neverwinter Nights 2: Mask of the Betrayer
Deraldin replied to Sand's topic in Computer and Console
Here's the post I was talking about RP. Earlier in this thread. Jeff Husges also posted in that thread. After the prologue, none of the companions are required. -
Real Breaking News: Neverwinter Nights 2: Mask of the Betrayer

yeah and all others too I could live without most of the others. The only other one I could see even bothering to stick with you after defeating the king of shadows would be Elanee. Khelgar and Neeshka are the most loyal I think, also the most popular. What about the construct. He'd stick by you no matter what! @Role-Player: Wasn't there a comment by Sawyer that said that the exceptions (required party members) is only during the prologue? -
Real Breaking News: Neverwinter Nights 2: Mask of the Betrayer

I actually really like the idea that if you tick them off they won't listen to you in combat/stop sharing/won't allow themselves to be treated as pack mules. -
Anand and Toms are saying that it will be sold for $880+.

Why does everyone hate the Neverwinter Nights camera? What makes you think it's the worst. I just don't understand the aversion to it. It's easily controlled with a wide range of views. What is the problem?

I just finished off a can of coke and now I'm going to bed before I start feeling the need for that 2am meal...

Damnit Canucks! You buy a two goal lead! Damn you!

It's my topic creation for the year. Partially inspired by posts in the Ninja Gaiden thread. In your opinion, what game, that you have played, had the worst camera? Why didn't you like it? Was it not responsive enough? Did it never point at what you wanted it to? What made it the worst camera you've ever had the misfortune to try to play with? Personally my pick would probably have to be the camera for Jade Empire. The camera in that game was only part of the problem though. The controls were slightly awkward, however most of the game was easy enough that I could compensate for it. What I could not compensate for however was a camera that could not keep up with my movements. It just wasn't moving fast enough for my tastes and had no way (that I could find) to tell it to move faster. Ninja Gaiden had a button that would instantly pull the camera behind Ryu and I made extensive use of it. Jade Empire had no such luxury. I had to wait for the camera to rotate by itself. It becomes incredibly difficult to dodge a dozen enemies properly when you can't see any of them and it's showing everything behind you so right on your control stick really equals left on screen and up is actually towards the bottom of the screen (and all the enemies).

The view that CBC showed just a moment ago on "Behind the Mask" looked like the puck was definitely over the goal line to me. This to me does seem to be a little bit of a one mistake to fix another deal.

Redheads don't actually exist. I've never seen one. Now that you mention it, I can't think of any women I've seen that had red hair. There are a number of them around here that have dyed their hair red, but that's it. Everyone else has been a lot closer to brunette. On the other hand, about half the guys I know of red hair of some variety.

That thing is huge!

No you're boring! I don't think Ottawa will fully lose the "playoff choker" label until they win the cup. Until they win it all, there will always be people out that that will say the choked. I can't honestly remember just how much contact was made by Fisher, but I do remember thinking that Brodeur got caught just like Hasek trying to sell the penalty. Question though: What was Ottawa "doing during the game" in your opinion? I didn't see much myself, but then I'm a little biased. W00T San Jose takes game 3!

I died so many times on that part. I can't snipe with a gamepad.
-
Why? Because the CBC overtime montage just keeps getting longer and longer? EDIT: Nevermind. I see New York and Buffalo are trying to challenge Vancouver and Dallas.

Nah. You're just damn unlucky. My ATI card hasn't given me any trouble except for one time when it overheated, but that was because the heatsink was so full of dust. Some people have horrendous problems with ATI, some with nVidia.

Space Canadians running around assassinating people?
-
Canadian flag for the racial emblem and the leader has a french name. Who else could they be? Heh. What's the name of the empire and while you're at it, how about the leader's name as well? I knew there was a Canadian flag emblem, but I've never seen anything use it except my own custom race. "
-
Space Canadians? I'm playing Jade Empire right now. Decent enough game but the camera is really starting to piss me off. I've lost count of the number of times I've died because of it. You dodge one way and the camera is still in it's original position. You dodge again because you landed next to some guy with a sword intent on skewering you, but because the camera angle isn't showing what your character is you dodge the wrong way and get trapped along a wall. Also the controls in the Pit of Pain challenge are really ****ing annoying. Fixed perspective and character movement is mapped to the current facing. Pushing up makes you go forward, which could be up, or it could be down, or anything to either side. This challenge would be so much easier if pushing up made your character actually go up on the screen! On top of all that there are blind spots in the arena where you can't see your character. "Why the hell am I not moving back where I can see myself? Oh, I was facing the wall? How the hell was I supposed to know that?! I CAN'T SEE MY DAMN CHARACTER!" Whoever came up with this control scheme should be thrown in the basement so they can't suggest any more stupid ideas.

OMG! The Devils sold out a game!
