The US Election, Part XI
well, trump is wrong 'bout one thing: the theatre has never been a safe place for those in power. perhaps rosenberg would be better to be speaking 'bout the theatre? *shrug* the theatre has frequent needed be subtle. the theatre has sometimes been subversive. the theatre, sadly, has been a tool of the State or wealthy patrons more often than not, but there is no question the theatre has also been brave, rude, crude, terrible and beautiful. we would weep if we genuine believed there were even a possibility the theatre would need become a safe place for those in power and am glad we live in an age and in a nation where performers can be so open and forthright. if the cast of hamilton offended beyond the pale, then people will stop going to see the show and their message will die. they took a risk. personally, am not believing pence deserved the treatment he received, but am indescribably proud o' an America where nobody is safe from ridicule in the theatre. not tyrants. not businessmen. not journalists. not saints. some will see what happened as evidence o' divisiveness. it is. is also proof o' freedom. thank God. thank America. ... btw, the writers o' hamilton need a history lesson. got the hero and villain largely reversed. HA! Good Fun! I have to say I have never heard the cast of a US theater making such a political statement so openly to a politician ? Has this happened before? For example Finland's independence movement started from theaters in 1800s. If you go to beginning of theater as we now it in ancient Greek you find that lots of their plays had political message and were aimed towards those in power. Also there are lots of examples from the history where theater crews have imprisoned or even killed because they offended those in power. Thanks to that awesome typo, you are effectively stating that theater crews are a powerful shadow organization that metes out deadly punishment to anyone they deem deserving. That could make a good book.

The US Election, Part XI
Let's not forget that most people that turn out to vote, vote Republican because they are Republicans or vote Democrat because they are Democrats. Who the candidate actually is, policy, economic factors don't have all that much influence on the popular vote. If not for the electoral college's winner takes all model, they influence bugger all. I'm guessing that if you had an alternate reality where everything else was exactly the same but Trump was the Democratic candidate and Clinton was the Republican nominee, the popular vote results would have been about the same.

I like this speech, but I don't see how it would serve Trump in any way. It also seems to lump all protesters in with those who are getting violent, which is the same problem with lumping all Trump voters in with racists. If every time we talk about Trump supporters, we feel the need to lecture on racism, it is just going to cause people to tune out. The perception of Trump is that he not in support of any of those things that the symbol is supposed to represent. That may be totally inaccurate and irrational, but I don't see how it will hurt him to show support. He already won the election, now would be a good time to start mending bridges (because people are flipping out over fences.) Image problem right now? Another thing that baffles me about Trump followers is that he always had an image problem. Or ever since he has been in the public eye anyway. He has been getting sued for shady things since like the 70s, and he was always the poster boy for the evil landlord that screws over tenants for a buck and a half. It's not like the racist/sexist/clueless idiot born with a silver spoon in his mouth deal is a new thing either. My dad used to buy Mad magazine, and this election cycle reminded me of how I came across Trump for the first time: The internet tells me this is 1989. And here's a bonus picture. I had completely forgotten about this until I just saw it in a google image search: That's 1991.- The US Election, Part XI

I didn't write this but I thought it was perfect: It's like a rock paper scissors of jerks. Or a logic puzzle. Donald Trump needs to get across the river in a canoe with his staff. The canoe only holds Trump and two people. His staff are a homophobic woman, a racist homosexual and a misogynist black man. When Trump is not present, those with hateful tendencies will act on them. How does Trump get his staff across the river?- The 'Sidian Tyranny thread
I've just played for a couple of hours, and I'm really enjoying Verse. So far she appears to be a psychopath with an earnest enjoyment of bloody violence but obviously there's more there than meets the eye. The writing in general seems quite good, and I feel engaged and conflicted in the choices I have had. to make. I really like the art design even if everything seems to be on the brown side of the spectrum, so far. I've majored in dual wielding with a minor in lightning magic, but I haven't experienced much of the combat mechanics, so far. Reading through the ability descriptions it does seem like a step in a different direction when compared to PoE. I'd say it might be a middle ground between Dragon Age and Pillars: Heavy on the cooldowns, but still a healthy variety to the combat options, perhaps. It will depend on the variety of the opposition, of course, but it won't hard to be better than DA in that respect.- The US Election, Part XI
What I see, people are demanding that democrats will obstruct Trump with every conceivable way like republicans did for Obama (according to them). Any sort cooperation or suggestion of cooperation is seen as betrayal. So next four years are probably at least as entertaining as previous eight. Republicans will have to get rid of the filibuster if they expect to get anything done. Reid already got rid of part of it, and no doubt the Dems would get rid of the rest if that benefited them. Obola's IRS encourages illegal aliens to file tax returns with stolen Social Security numbers and claim billions in tax credits. Edit: As a citizen of course I am expected to follow all the rules and pay all my taxes, and if I don't the feds will come down on me like a ton of bricks. Those 4Bn in tax credits mostly are given for children of immigrants who actually are US citizens. Also, illegal immigrants still pay 12 billion a year in payroll taxes without getting any benefits. You're an expert on US tax system now? How do they know their children are citizens? How do they know they have children at all, or who the person with the fake Social Security number is? This is all a criminal enterprise, and a fraud perpetrated on the American taxpayer. That's all info taken from the 2011 report Trump got that info from, and then selectively quoted to make it worse than it is. https://www.treasury.gov/tigta/auditreports/2011reports/201141061fr.pdf http://www.taxjusticeblog.org/archive/2015/08/what_trump_gets_all_wrong_abou.php#.WCZCGMk1dG4- The US Election, Part XI

You may not have noticed, but violence is all coming from one side. Sure is mate, sure is. https://twitter.com/i/moments/796417517157830656?m=1 Ha ha ha ha. http://www.breitbart.com/texas/2016/11/10/police-muslim-student-fabricated-hijab-grab-trump-supporters/ Hold up. So one reported incident was fabricated, therefore the implication you are making is that ALL of them are, right? I don't even, so I'm just going to quote your own immortal words: Just making the point that posts on twitter aren't necessarily a reliable source. Also a few racist incidents which always happened aren't the same as organized rioting. I was the best in my class for your information. I was. Aware.- The US Election, Part XI
