The US Election, Part XI
When **** hits the fan just remember, 42% didn't even show up to vote. When **** hits the fan just remember, all 50 states did have a second choice. When **** hits the fan just remember, you picked the dumpster fire that burned brightest. When **** hits the fan just remember, your vote probably didn't matter anyway. When **** hits the fan just remember, Berlusconi 2.0 is your president elect. When **** hits the fan just remember, it never stopped hitting the fan and you never noticed.

If they have something really juicy they are three weeks too late to do anything with it. And as Shady said, anything other than flagrant illegality would not have changed anything. Well, when I say juicy, I mean juicy. Career ending, jail time. Stuff that would make his own kids disavow him. Like I said the time to play that card was a few days before the election. That is when that would have done the most good. Doing it now would be like kicking the ball into the goal after everyone has left the stadium. They could save it for 2020 but unless it's REALLY good ot will just be old news. And if he's doing really well or really poorly as President it would not matter anyway. Obviously now, but at that time even Trump thought he was going to lose so why would they rock the boat. The best laid plans and all that.

I can't help but think that there are Democrats sitting tight on really, really juicy Trump scandals. I imagine that the only reason they don't release the info is that they can't figure out which is better/worse for their party; the GOP in charge of everything with Trump at the helm or the GOP in charge of everything with Trump pushed aside.

Th good news is that Lindelof has been kicked to the curb. The bad news is that Michael Green, the new writer, wrote Green Lantern. He has also written the new Blade Runner, and he is the show runner of American Gods, the upcoming adaptation of Neil Gaiman's novel. I'm bracing myself for a lot of disappointment.- The Funny Things Thread

Citation so ****ing needed. He was asked if he would accept results of the election, and he responded (rough quote) "I can't tell you now, I'll have to look at it at the time." Unless you've got some other interview or source I'm not aware of, don't blatantly misquote a guy to make him look bad. That's disgusting. If you've got one, share it. If you don't, get your misinformation out of here. I can't find it right now but there was some rally where he said he would only accept the results if he won. Here ya go: http://edition.cnn.com/2016/10/20/politics/donald-trump-i-will-totally-accept-election-results-if-i-win/- The US Election, Part XI
Anglo-Saxons? That's not far back enough. When will the "Make the Neanderthal Great Again" movement start to be taken seriously is what I want to know. Homo Sapiens go home and take your foreign ways with you. The Neanderthal don't need climate change myth proponents around and, anyway, Homo Sapiens are a bunch of intellectual liberals who are out of touch with working class cavemen.- The US Election, Part XI

Obviously Pidesco thinks that Trump is just the greatest guy ever. I remember that he said Trump's words about illegals was, "Charming stuff". Now he thinks Trump is honest and charismatic too. I guess Trump supporters really are cult-like. :) I think he is honest about wanting to use minorites as scapegoats. I think he is honest when he says he is great and awesome and perfect. He is not self-aware or intelligent but honest, nonetheless. He honestly thinks he is the bee's knees, he honestly thinks he can do whatever he wants as a rich, white guy, he honestly thinks people love him, He honestly thinks he is a the best and yuge. As for charisma, he apparently seems to be have it according to large swaths of the American public. I personally don't get it, but that's besides the point. As far as charisma goes, Trump seems a lot like Berlusconi, to me.- The US Election, Part XI
Proportional states' votes in the EC would be more likely, but still not that likely. You'd have to have some sort of simultaneous adoption else you'd have, say, California going proportional while Texas keeps giving its votes to the R candidate wholesale which gives the R candidate a big advantage. I know a couple of states do it anyway, but they're small states. Complaining about the EC is a bit like complaining that someone with more wins finishes behind someone else in a football league or the Golden State Warriors not being NBA champions despite having the most wins. It is what it is, everyone knows the rules beforehand and while it may not be a perfectly fair system, it is balanced. I was kinda agreeing with you until the last three words. It's not, in any way balanced. It's a way of effectively discarding, perhaps 80% of votes. (Made up number. The actual percentage may be worse) I don't understand why Americans who vote aren't more up in arms about it. Because it makes sense. We'd have 4 states choosing our pres every single time without the EC. With all due respect mate, we don't want to be Sweden. Instead you have, like 10% of the population choosing the president. How is that better? "For the people and by the people" not "for the states and by the states."- The US Election, Part XI

And this here is just what's wrong with the Electoral College. You know what's more important than individual rights? State's rights. Because government can totally be trusted as long as it isn't federal. No it can't. But it takes a hell of a lot fewer angry citizens to so something about State government problems than Federal government problems. All this talk about the EC is entirely academic. to get rid of it we would need 3/4 of the States to agree. That means the citizens of those states literally voting for their own marginalization. Talk about a tough sell. Actually they'd be voting to equate everyone's votes. The marginalization of voters in presidential elections happens now, and would be solved without the EC. At the very least, forcing the EC to vote as proportionally as possible to each state's popular vote should be a no brainer.- The Funny Things Thread

That image highlights the problem with racism and xenophobia perception, nowadays. To wit: "Why are you complaining about racism? It's not like you were recently lynched or something."
