The US Election 2016, Part VIII
Perhaps he can also explain how the lack of regulations was responsible for both the crash of 1929 and the crash of 2008. And how an improvement of regulatory oversight through the New Deal saved the US from depression. Hurlie is a history teacher, I think.

Explain to them how Libertarian economic policy is based on deregulation inspired by philosophical dogma instead of actual evidence and everyone should quickly jump to the libertarian camp.

The US Election 2016, Part VIII
The polls still don't factor fully the tape revelation and the debate probably won't be good in the polls for Trump. As I understand it the press conference he did with the Bill Clinton victims went down like a rock with women, which is the demographic that's screwing him over in the polls right now. That being said I don't think Electoral college results from polling will get worse than what they currently are for Trump. At worst Arizona will flip to Clinton, but that's more or less meaningless at this point. Clinton is already sweeping practically all swing states. Anyway, what's interesting now is how all the current GOP brouhaha will affect the Senate and the House. In particular, if the GOP lost the House it would be a party ending upset of apocalyptic proportions.

The LA Times national poll uses a specific model that favours Republicans. It's more valuable to pay attention to the trend instead of heeding the specific numbers. The trend for Trump, even in that poll, is negative.

The US Election 2016, Part VIII
Things are so bad on the Republican side that they are even talking about ensuring that they protect Congress from Trump fallout. I don't see how, but If the Democrats manage to get control of Congress the GOP will be close to dying.

Did Trump answer any questions besides the last one? He deflected the sexual assault question onto ISIS.

Yeah, you're right. Sorry about that. It's still terrible, though. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-fix/wp/2014/11/21/7-charts-that-explain-the-undocumented-immigrant-population/ The majority of illegal immigrants have been in the US for over 10 years, which means they are more than settled and a significant percentage have progeny that was born in the US.

First, they are not charges, they are recorded fact. Second and more important, his supposed policies regarding immigration and foreign policy are stupid and naive at best. At worst his proposed policies are racist and dangerous to America and the world at large. Build a wall and deport all Muslims come to mind. Trump never suggested deporting all muslims (or any muslims), and a wall hardly sounds dangerous to the world. http://edition.cnn.com/videos/politics/2016/10/05/vice-presidential-debate-mike-pence-v-donald-trump-origwx-allee.cnn Enjoy.

Other than the whole naive, kumbaya feel of the quote, what's wrong with it? Sounds like something Sanders and Stein supporters would get behind of.

Trump did something my 9 year old learned to do 2 years ago. So impressive.

I've posted the recording itself here, and it's not at all like you are portraying it. Hillary has enough flaws for people to complain about without misrepresenting something she said or did 30 years ago.

That's the chance of winning according to 538's model for analyzing polls. But yes, Clinton is currently leading in most swing states according to polling so the chance of her losing the election right now is fairly low.

Palin was an exceptionally bad VP candidate, though. Pence and Kaine are, on their respective sides, safe, middle of the road guys.

It's not so much about who "won" but more about how the debate gets analyzed. From what I understand one of the reasons Pence "won" is that he was decidedly Untrumpian and even said things that are opposite to what Trump has said before. The main example I saw was the subject of Russia and Putin, where Pence had no problems criticizing Putin and the situation with Crimea. This would be taken to heart in a positive way by Trump if he was an intelligent human. Instead I'd wager that he'll feel like doubling down on his Trumpiness will be the response. Like that tweet seems to indicate. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qZOWItkanDs

http://www.nytimes.com/2016/10/02/us/politics/donald-trump-taxes.html I'm sure someone will posit that him having losses 900 million in one year and still being around as a business is a sign of what a shrewd mind he has.

That's a pretty good video, with a clear, well reasoned explanation of who Trump is. Trump is only a troll in the sense of idiot forum posters who write something stupid and then, when challenged on it, turn to the "I'm totally just a troll" defense. In any case, why anyone would want a troll as president is beyond me.
