The Call of Duty/Battlefield crowd makes everyone else look good. In my short stint in World of Warcraft, Age of Conan and Guild Wars I didn't find all that much human interaction. I met one nice guy that was quitting WoW and he gave me some nice stuff out of sheer altruism. So all in all, the people were okay - the problem was with the games themselves. Age of Conan probably had the most wasted potential of any game ever. Playing Skyrim the other day it occurred to me how cool a sandbox game set in Hyboria would be. Preferably made by the same artists who did AoC, with better combat than in ES but otherwise similar in structure.

I found that film pretty mediocre. If you replace the SF element with a regular girl you get a pretty mundane story or rather, it becomes more obvious that the story, beneath all the sf trappings - is quite mundane.

Right sector nazis hang russian activist: http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=e24_1399498421 That's some of Europe's finest democrats in action.

Well they're going to hold the May 11 referendum referendum regardless. Whether this turn of events was planned with Moscow or a bit of solo local politicking is maybe irrelevant considering that it forces Kiev to act. The possibility of Russian intervention now looks remote even tough they could probably steamroll the Ukrainian army in short order.

This thread is about as derailed as Bioware's take on human sexuality. At this point that's all it has in common with Dragon Age.

UT99 was worth playing just to hear "M-M-M-M-Monster kill kill kill" UT99 was worth playing just to hear "M-M-M-M-Monster kill kill kill" That was later modded into every subsequent multiplayer shooter on player run servers. It was also the only shooter where you could have just as much fun playing bots as real players. Alas I have no luck getting the game to run properly nowadays. There is mouse lag/acceleration now on every new PC I try it with.

Unreal Tournament was the best multiplayer shooter I ever played. I didn't like any of the subsequent installments in the series, but I'll keep an eye out for this one in case it works out.

Yes, it was one of the most boring games I've ever played without actually being bad at anything in particular. One gets used to RPG's dragging at some point or another since they're mostly very long games but NWN2 was like watching paint dry.

Yeah if I was female and made such a gross misstep to get into a relationship with Edward a.k.a "shovelface" I'd probably tell him to meet on a beach. In summer. At noon.

I can't believe they're so stupid http://rt.com/news/157736-ukraine-troops-russia-borders/ This whole thing is teetering very close to ugly.

I thought Indira was female too. *shrug* It doesn't help that one of the worst pop singers in Serbia is called Indira xD But, that just reveals the pointlessness of gender over the internet for regular folks. It doesn't exist until someone starts throwing a fit. Once upon a time I did get harassed in a chat room for having a somewhat feminine nickname... but it was all ridiculous. In any case I tend to stick to either male or neutral nicks now.

A pity, TW1 is far better than NWN2 or anything else released in that period.

Painted Veil was an okay movie. What happens in Twilight is not romance, its immature infatuation with someone or other typical for teenagers. In fact the thing the principal character is most infatuated with is not another person, but staying in the center of attention. Twilight is garbage even by youth literature standards because it has 0 artistic or educational value, and has no function other than to validate the readers skewed perspective of the world and human relations, to indulge exactly that which shouldn't be indulged.

I played it on normal, then on hard as the combat difficulty seemed to drop sharply as Geralt grew stronger, now I'll probably drop it back to normal. The game is hard only from time to time, but the end of chapter II is practically a series of fight sequences and my patience simply ran out.

Finishing Witcher 2 act II. I had to shake my head a few times in dismay at what Projekt Red did. Checkpoint saves before tiresome scenes where you play other characters and have to fight, boss with attacks that kill you in two hits that are hard to dodge, spamming more enemies at Geralt so they surround you and inevitably kill you because they get a damage bonus with backstabs and you can't roll away because the levels are small and tight... Random and undependable effects with magic (Aard, Igni) - especially annoying is failure to damage enemies because sign hits a small terrain element that's between you and the target. So frustrating, pointless and annoying. Then it occurred to me that it was the same feeling I had with Dark Souls, except in the Witcher 2 its occasional and with DS it begins with the first fight. I just have no patience with learning these type of combat systems where you have to study each enemy and patiently counter their attacks. Its the anti-thesis of fun for me - a tedious indulgence to the games mechanics instead of indulging my whim to relax and play it my way. Its almost shameful to admit, but I practically enjoyed Skyrim's rubbish combat more than Witcher 2's precisely because I could breeze through it in seconds. I enjoy multiplayer FPS twitch shooting because its fast and furious, and the effects are immediate. But this? I can't play this ****. I'll force myself to finish the game to see how the story ends, but I won't be playing it again. Ever.

The greater conundrum is... why did they make this trailer in the first place? You could basically slap it onto any fantasy game.

The companies play at policing so they "cover" what is supposed to be their responsibility but the real deal behind it all is that they don't turn away their customers unless they absolutely have to, which means tolerating just about anything. Many people will put up with a lot to keep playing their favorite game, which the companies are aware of so they let it slide. Obviously when things are slipping from up top, the bottom can only look like the 9th circle of hell.

I don't understand either. There is a group in the EVE universe that goes by that name and has a bad reputation, and their avatar is the same as her avatar so I presume EVE gamers know what its about.
