All that being done is equating him to state sponsored terrorism and noting the mass media hypocrisy involved. If state sponsored terrorism is okay then Brevik is okay, and vice-versa. I've been raging against state sponsored terrorism for ages on these boards so its clear where I stand.

1. No one is being defended. Chalk it up to Volourn teenage mind to draw the stupidest arguments from any conversation. 2. I was speaking in general terms. You consistently question and mock everything I say even when supported by evidence that you don't care to skim through. Unwilling to actually converse every comment you make boils down to sarcasm. Especially on the topic of the Balkan wars where you might as well be a CNN spokesperson. I couldn't care less whether you or not agree, but your attitude is different from people like Walsingham who engage in conversation instead of bull****ting their way through it.

Ah, the famous "everyone knows!" argument. I hope it doesn't float at wherever you are studying. Oh please. Continue to plead ignorance at every inconvenient opportunity. Make my day. Better ignorance than wanton misrepresentation. It is not. End of story. Details of the chechen conflicts and western involvement are neither particularly secret nor unknown. Modern states in general have a history of supporting terror groups to further their interests while justifying or misrepresenting them at home. US and the former USSR in particular. The only difference between the people who make up those groups and Berivik is that he went solo and had no state support. States condemn men like him for one simple reason (that has nothing to do with morality): they can't control him and he makes them look bad, inept. Their licensed terrorists, a whole jolly bus full of Beriviks however, may kill as many children as necessary. Just as long as they don't talk about it too much because of all the bad PR. Everything is hypocrisy. Your - is your self image of being the "right" side where in fact there is none. That is why I have zero respect for people like you who give themselves some sort of special status. You can - everyone else can't. You are right and everyone else is wrong. Your hands are never dirty no matter what you do. What a joke. And then when **** like this happens you go: how could this happen in our peace loving little country - never questioning the humorous notion of how a country that's a part of NATO - which has led so many wars could be considered peaceful by anyone of right mind. Beriviks killings are a monstorus tragedy, civillian casualties due to NATO attacks - collateral damage. Please.

I don't want to stamp all over your point old man, but I know what life was like under Apartheid. It wasn't like that in Europe last time I checked. Nope. I just checked again. I have full franchise rights and employment possibilities. Plus a cracking stack of booze and porn. No Islamofascist nightmare just yet. Never said it was, I'm just comparing character traits between those type of people. The "justness" of their "cause" is irrelevant. @Nepenthe: don't be silly. Everyone knows the Chechens enjoyed covert political, financial and military support from the west in various degrees, until it became unprofitable to support them. Paying lip service to the victims on one side and supporting the killers on the other does not make the situation magically okay.

That was my point all along. There are nutjobs and nutjobs but this one is nowhere near as nutty as the rest. From what I gather he blames the local powers that be for the Islamic "problem" and not muslim themselves. Which is pretty logical -EU immigration is after all not a policy made in Pakistan. You know, life is strange. Mandela and his ANC set god knows how many bombs and killed god knows how many people and today he's celebrated as a paragon of democracy - and Breivik is a monster. Yet they're the exact same the end-justifies-the-means terrorist fanatic mentality, with not a single difference between them. You pick a cause, you pick your enemy and when the heads start to roll the only thing that decides who you are is whose civillians are getting killed. If they're "our enemy" like the aparheid boers, fine - just rack up a body count. You'll still be a hero in the end. And no I'm not talking out of my ass on Mandela, I lived in those parts and talked to a lot of south africans. His deeds are well known, yet the west chose to look the other way. The exact same applies to the Chechen terrorists. They killed a school full of (primary school?) kids yet they were still labelled as "freedom fighters". Where's the horror and dismay for the russian kids? A bit lacking no? Breivik was labeled as a christian fundamentalist before anything about him was known. You'd have to positively hate anything to do with christianity to make a casual and unfounded statement like that, based on nothing more than his FB profile. The man clearly says that religion is important to him but that its not the reason and cause for his actions. Yet the accusations persist. He's also compared to far right nazi types, yet he repeatedly glorifies Israel and Jews while being critical of skinheads and neonazis.

I like to palm grip the mouse (whole hand), and make minimal movements (high sensitivity). I have large, heavy hands and any other option is heavy and/or tiring. Only I found that out when I dumped a lot of cash in mice that don't suit me. You'd like both Razer mice then. Judging by the Salmosa specs its the exact same sensor that the Diamondback 3G and MX518 have. So its all basically the same thing in a different size case. But all those are max 1800 DPI, you should really try settings above that out before you buy. The Orochi at 4000 dpi is too blindingly fast for me to use. I used it in CS 1.6 but only after setting the sensitivity to 1.2 in the game menu (hence bringing it down), at 4000 it jumps across the whole screen if you move it a milimeter.

You have to realize that they didn't choose squat. The democratic revolution was the beginng of effective US/EU (mostly German to be honest) control over internal policy. The government of the day is that in name only. It has however managed to eradicate all opposing views from the media and poltiical life even if it did take them a decade to do it. The political scene is closed for new players who don't follow the tune set for them. I don't say this as blame shifting but as an expression of fact. But there is something much worse, which is disastrous demographics. Like most EU countries we have a rapidly aging society which leads to political passivity. Serious shiftings in policy are unlikely no matter what happens. I think you're talking about that cultural marxism. Its a term for a branch of societal studies formerly dominated by marxist theoreticians whose views (without the marxist lingo) have been incoporated into today's ideology of multiculturalism. Conservatives still call them marxist arousing unnecessary confusion only because they adhere to the class ideology in their writings. Only the new disenfranchised classes are not disciminated economically like the proleteriat but culturally: gays, women, religious minorities etc. Its a bizzare concoction of ideas and if I didn't have it as a subject at uni (Cultural studies) I would never have believed it. However - its true, the currently dominant "liberal" mc ideology has marxist theoretical roots.

Razer Kabuto 20$ As you can see the Kabuto can double up as a screen protector for a netbook, and is really made as a companion to the Orochi mouse. Its very thin micro fiber stuck to thin rubber. It works well although it seem to attract dust more than my other one. It offers more resistance than I like in games, which is its chief flaw. Overall: an okay product for a notebook user. Razer Goliathus 30$ I like this one much more. I have the smallest "control" Goliathus, which really is standard size and more than most need. Its thick, I've had it for more than a year and it worked very well with the Diamondback mouse. Its still in good shape, and the amount of control I have over the movements of the mouse is very satisfying. Its "faster" than the Kabuto and noticeably so. Overall: I recommend it. It does the job well for an okay price.

Googling the Mionix doesn't tell me much - it seems to have all the standard features, for a standard price. Maybe if its exceptionally high quality... They all revolve around the same stuff. Logitech is just a bit more cheaper and sometimes long lasting, while the other end of the spectrum like Razer basically offers the same thing but you pay extra for vanity design. I'll certainly not buy another Razer product.

Maybe because you're operating in terms that have no meaning to me? Racism isn't even an issue! Everyone in the balkans is of the "white race" whatever that means. Race is no deeper than skin color, but religion goes much farther than that and is more far reaching. Religion = world view. Finding someone's world view unacceptable is perfectly natural - you do it all the time. Everyone does. These things are not necessarily compatible. Multiculturalism and tolerance are maybe necessary in a society composed of many nationalities - its an american compromise made for americans, maybe australians also. I live in a small compact country, with clear historical alliances and enmities. Nothing has really changed in that regard in a very long time. Nothing will change in a long time either. What am I going to do with you multiculturalism and tolerance? Countries as large as the US can allow themselves social experiments of all sorts, their integrity is not in question - and they have a lot of time and resources to play around. Mine is however neither large nor particularly stable and the current ideology is disintegrating it further. My cause is a lot more urgent and does not leave space for legislative and societal games, imported ideologies and eccentric fascinations with nonsensical topics like: "gay rights", "feminism", "animal rights". US/EU and their local government is imposing these issues on us, which is why I want these things to change there - because that's the only way to shift things here, at the moment. Its a very sad state of affairs, though.

I dismiss these news as a rule, like you'd dismiss any statistically present crime - what piqued my interest was his pov. yeah? you is repeating what we said for a reason? we were criticizing you precisely 'cause you agreed with the killer's pov. and yes, you legitimized, apologized and defended. we can post your statements again so that we can see how you thinks that the noweigan killer is well-educated, courageous, and a contributing member o' society. HA! ... so, this joker has got a highly plagiarized and pathetic manifesto, and you is moved by his plight and pov? great. is 'cause you share the pov, no? lord knows we ain't gonna let you drag us into a multiculturalism debate. the only aspect we found intriguing 'bout your posts were the defense o' breivik and your seeming belief that breivik were a harbinger o' things to come. HA! Good Fun! His pov does not necessarily equate to his actions. Except in his mind. I think he's educated, if he indeed read all he claims he had. The rest of what you say is nonsense, Breivik certainly ain't no model citizen or even a principled revolutionary - his choice of targets is too morally unjustifiable. I'm certainly not about to go and slaughter 80 children on account of my pov no matter how many common points there are. The methods matter. I'm for altering public perception through education. Breivik could be a harbinger of things to come. He certainly thinks he is. I'm not conclusive on the issue. Ideological trends shift rapidly and there are cycles of previously "outmoded" ideas returning. Instead of terrorism I predict a shift in EU legislature on immigration - a tightening up, if Merkels views are (behind closed doors) shared by her colleagues.

Ah yes. The thing I didn't cry about later. Steelseries 6Gv2 mechanical keyboard - 90$ For those who don't know what mechanical keyboards are - those are the ones that have full switches behind keys and make an audible click when fully depressed. Their construction is much sturdier than regular 'boards, supposedly facilitating 50 million cycles per key, instead of 1-5 million of the usual rubber keyboard. They're also much more satisfying to type on but this may vary from person to person. Steelseries has a reputation as good durable products and this keyboard really seems to enforce it. Its heavy as a brick, with an extremely tough ABS plastic + steel construction. Everything feels solid and well made. Of course, that doesn't mean squat - if it still works in 10 years then it'll be a really good board. The layout is mostly traditional with the left windows key changed for a steelseries one that is used to access media funcitons places on F1 to F6. The reasoning behind this was to eliminate the accidental pressing of the win key during games and I admit I like this idea. Placing the backslash key next to the slash key is strange and both of the shift keys turn out very small. I can live with that. The keys are cherry mx black which means something to some people but to me it means 2 things: 1. keys do not need to be fully depressed to work - the keyboard is extremely sensitive 2. the keys do not make the click sound that typists are used to although its not a quiet board by any stretch As a result it takes about a week to get used to typing on this keyboard because you'll be pressing a few more keys than usual. Its very satisfying to use and feels very solid. The printing on the keys is atrocious, it has, after only a week of use started to dull a little although the letters are ridged so they'll never really rub off - only the paint will. A 3$ clear key stickers would go a long way towards preserving the keys. But apart from that I'm very satisfied with it. I feel it will will last as long as advertised (the guarantee is 2 years) and is a pleasure to use. In the long run it will probably save money on future boards although I'm not of the gear abusing, coffee spilling sort. There is no special software for the board, its plug and play. Its main contestant is the Razer black widow, which is 20$ cheaper but uses cheaper Cherry MX blue keys. It has usb and audio ports but it also has maufacturing issues with the space bar being too close to the left alt key and depressing it. This means that you'll be seeing menus in programs a lot. It a very widespread issue so I chose to buy 6gv2 instead. Previous Razer keyboards also have a bad reputation so that rubs of on this one as well. There is also an "ultimate" edition which brings you ultimate backlighting at almost 50$ more. As for Steelseries, their flagship board is the 7G This is the same board only with a wrist rest, usb and audio ports for 30-40$ more. It also has the traditional layout albeit with the Steelseries key. Its probably THE board to buy if you have the money to spare.

Legitimizing Breivik? Hardly. Considering what he did he could never be a "hero" to anyone. Any cause would hardly want a child killer on their side. You must think me royally stupid to endorse such a notion. Is he an abberation - sure. Why do these "abberations" tend to happen more often in the west than anywhere else, is the question you ignore. I dismiss these news as a rule, like you'd dismiss any statistically present crime - what piqued my interest was his pov. Only the future will show if there's absolutely nothing behind it and if its all just "right wing fantasy". My pov: As for multuculturalism - its an ideology foreign to me. I belive in the nation state for everyone with a respectable claim to it, in non interference in other nations internal issues and in a christian foundation of society with a traditional family as its building block. The overall political system is irrelevant as long as it is capable of protecting these core values. A strong policy of identity and national pride go hand in hand with this. Forced "tolerance" and compromise over core values are unacceptable: "tolerance is the virtue of the man without convictions". Minorities should expect their human rights to be protected as much as any citizen, but special "minority" rights are unacceptable - we're either equal in the eyes or the law or not. The currently widespread "anything goes" philosophy should be discouraged in favor of a more traditional world view. What is exactly wrong with that? I have been watching self-professed multi-culturalists and mass media tear what little traditional stability the society I live in has left over the past ten years and turning it into a cess pool of mediocrity and stupidity with zero self respect and integrity. Anyone of note, who holds any sort of conservative view can't get a second of media time, is ridiculed and mocked. Ascribing to family values and patriotism leads to instant backlash from various "liberal" nobodies that seem to have an exclusive license to all positions in government and media. The complete lack of political or cultural beacons lends itself to a complete decay of established systems: education, government, common culture. Each of those systems is now a McDonaldised joke. People are unhappy but feel powerless to do anything about it. And on top of it you aren't even allowed to say you don't like it, god forbid attempting to change something.

Like I said, on the whole I'm not interested in him on even in this one particular event. He could be everything you say he is, he could be a real hardcore revolutionary, he could be both. Or neither. Hell, maybe the whole manifesto is a ploy of some sort. I feel that if you go with Breivik the attention seeking nut theory, the entire discussion is prematurely closed with no resolution. That theory is applicable in Columbine, in the scottish/english (can't recall) man who shot a classroom full of kids and even there a study of societal alienation might be in order. But if you look at it politically and I'm interested in political side of it all and the implications of one such "well ordered democracy" giving rise to people who spend 9 years systematically planning to negate it. You can blame it all on the individual but the system has a part in it, if for no reason other than that he was formed and grew up in it. His principal enemy, if he is to be trusted was "cultural marxism", or in other words multiculturalism. A wholly american/eu ideology! He views islam negatively, but he didn't march in a mosque and shoot all people present. He could have done that as well, but he chose to target his own, and children no less. What gives? Attention he would have got either way, infamy as well. It suggests real, vitriolic hatred for the western political system as it exists now, and that is suggested in his manifest. Does that not prompt a re-examination of multi-culturalism? After all Angela Merkel recently described the idea as a failure. This is the PM of the most important country of the EU, saying effectively: the dominant dogma is bursting at the seams. She's neither stupid nor mad yet she was subjected to intense criticism for saying that. So if the PM of a major EU power can't speak her mind on the topic without backlash, what are we, in the middle ages and subjected to the spanish inquisition? And why would something so supposedly natural and democratic need such dogmatic policing and arm wrenching tactics?

Where from? we already hinted where-from. is kinda ironic given the fact that the guy he plagiarized were at the other end o' the left-right continuum. the guy you admire simply changed the leftist language to righty. *snort* HA! Good Fun! Don't be snide. Agreeing that someone's political views might hold a grain of truth does not equate to justification of his acts. I personally think he should be shot, as his crime is great. His crime however does not discredit the work of the many conservative authors he cites and their conclusions/ideas or some of his comments (like the disgraceful position of the Danish government regarding the cartoon scandal). and why should we be other than snide? the plagiarizing momma's boy is only significant 'cause he killed children. you attribute merit 'cause you agree with his pov. if you so desire you may go ahead and empower the pathetic, cowardly and monstrous little dirt-bag who managed to create a forum for himself by means o' a body count. as for Gromnir, we will continue to be snide, derisive and dismissive. HA! Good Fun! Now you're being childish as well. A whole litany against a man who was and is - unimportant. I take Breivik as a symptom of the inherent contradictions in the current multiculturalist ideology propagated in the west. He is an extreme borne of another extreme, only the second one poses not as an extreme but as something that is good/just/right/desirable while actually being destructive and disruptive and unwilling to compromise. Breivik is what happens when you treat nationalism (and to a lesser extent judeo-christianity) like a pariah doing utmost to suppress it in every form and shape. Like any historical trend - it comes back to bite you on the ass. Like the Soviets learned the hard way back in the 90ties.
