  1. Kirsten Dunst would have made an awesome Gwen Stacy. Too bad they miscast her as a horrible Mary Jane. Topher Grace would have made an awesome Peter Parker. Too bad he's Eddie Brock. And Tobey Maguire makes a decent Peter Parker, but he's a lousy Spider-Man. He has a lousy voice for crackin' wise. Which is probably why they left that major part of SM's personality out of the movies.
  2. That's why such pseudoscientific crap keeps coming <{POST_SNAPBACK}> After the movie came out some media news thing went to some weather specialists and asked if that could happen. They said yes, but not so fast that you have to try to outrun the storm. It would take more like a couple decades, or centuries.
  3. Well, I finally got my copy in the mail, only to find that I don't even get a jewel case, and the manual is a PDF on CD. Um, I think not. So I emailed Take 2, or 2k Games or whoever published the thing asking them to send me a jewel case and a paper manual as soon as possible. Not expecting anything, but I personally figure that if you're spending 60 bucks on a game, you should at least get a 50 cent jewel case instead of those stupid paper sleeves.
  4. Oh, they tried, they tried. Remember Deus Ex: Invisible War? It had the exact same coding for Xbox and PC; but while this caused a great game for X-Box standerds, it was crap for PC standerds, and also gave loads of framerate issues for many PC users due to crappy X-Box optimisation... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I mean like with an emulator. Stick the Xbox disc in your drive and play it on the PC.
  5. Spider-Man 2 didn't cost nearly billions. It cost 200 million. And it more than made that back. Also, Bruce Allmighty wasn't actually a good movie.
  6. I've never actually visited that site before - have bookmarked it now. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> All their news stories are loaded with opinion, which is nice when you agree, not so much when you don't, but you can generally appreciate the humour despite differing opinions. Devin is the major player there on the Love/Hate side. He tends to be extreme in his opinions and everyone hates him for it. I tend to think he's hilarious. He alienated the entire Firefly fanbase by saying that the Browncoats are a major reason Serenity failed. He said that no one likes rabid crazy fans, and while the Star Wars and Star Trek geeks may be more recognizibly rabid, the hardcore Serenity fans were out spending hundreds of dollars of their own money to get people to see that movie, and instead of people thinking "Wow, if its so good people are spending their own money to get others to see it, maybe I should see it too" people thought "Geez, I don't want to be associated with those rabid fanboy nerds who are spending their own money so rich people can get richer, so I'll pass on that movie"
  7. I think the only new Terminator concept they could go with would be like a team of Terminators. Possibly 2 or 3 that link together to become more powerful.
  8. No prob. I make CHUD my main source of movie news mostly because of the personality of the people there rather than their exclusives, which Ain't It Cool News and Dark Horizons usually beats them out on pretty much every time, so it was nice to see them snag one of the first mentions of this.
  9. I wish I could get SMAC to work on my computer.
  10. http://www.chud.com/index.php?type=news&id=4981 Looks cool to me.
  11. Well... Marvel started their own movie studio so they don't have to license the rights to other studios to make movies. So once all the licenses are up and the rights revert back to Marvel... we could start seeing crossover movies. Or at least references to other marvel characters. I'd love to see Punisher and Daredevil cross paths.
  12. You're getting both unfortunately. I'm hoping they just introduce the whole Eddie Brock conflict in this one and turn him into Venom in Spider-Man 4 instead of wasting Venom by having him share a movie with Sandman. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I bet you they introduce the symbiote costume in this one and it combines with Brock at the end. I doubt "Venom" is in this one as a main villian <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, Topher Grace is playing Eddie Brock, so I'm really interested in how they go with that. It seems like they must be going with the whole mirror image of Peter, only not raised by Uncle Ben kinda thing, which IMO would make him a much more interesting character. Oh, and to Baley: I agree, we need a Lucifer movie, guess Paradise Lost will have to tide us over until then though. Also, Galactus is a F4 or Silver Surfer villain, so I doubt we'll ever see him in a Spider-Man movie. My guess is they're going to make him the villain for the Silver Sufer movie, since I heard they're going with either the Mole King or the Puppet Master in Fantastic Four 2.
  13. Thanks (w00t) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I personally miss the old school Selphie avatar. That was you right?
  14. Well, I thought so too, but a lot of people I know seemed to think it was crap. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The trailer and such made it look like an Armageddon ripoff. Heck, even the posters made it look like an Armageddon ripoff, but the movie itself had much better characters and such.
  15. You're getting both unfortunately. I'm hoping they just introduce the whole Eddie Brock conflict in this one and turn him into Venom in Spider-Man 4 instead of wasting Venom by having him share a movie with Sandman.
  16. The Core was awesome. That the writer's website has a link to mine has nothing to do with that opinion either.
  17. Apparently they're making a movie out of Wanted, which I haven't personally read, but is apparently about a world where the villains have won and wiped out superheroes.
  18. I'm surprised that you can't play Xbox games on the PC. Don't they use basically the same OS? Because I wanna play JE but its not worth buying an Xbox for one game.
  19. http://www.1up.com/do/feature?cId=3145154&did=1 Some of those are stretching it, but others are right on. Also, don't forget to read the 2nd page.
  20. He was turned into glass in the comics after going good didn't he? I personally wish they would stop killing off the damn villains in superhero movies.
  21. Sandman. I imagine the fight scenes being somewhat like if Spider-Man fought the Mummy Sandstorm from The Mummy.
  22. Well, we had a thread about how much X-Men 3 is going to suck, how about how much Spider-Man 3 is going to rule. They were trying to keep the villains under wraps but Kirsten Dunst let it slip that they're going with Venom and Sandman, my guess is that they're just introducing Eddie Brock for a Venom appearance in Spidey 4, but as this picture shows: They're really sticking to the comic for Sandman, which is nice.
  23. Not necessarily. For instance, Indigo Prophesy is listed at $39.99 on EB games' website (US dollars). I got mine for $44.99 Canadian. With the exchange rate, that'd be like $30 US. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Actually, it works out to about $38. The exchange rate isn't as bad as it was before. I remember a few years ago when it was rare to find games under $70.
