I think the bolded is what they were going for. While it's more of a shooter, it's still supposed to resemble XCOM, which is all about squad management in combat. I can live with that, but something like Valkyria Chronicles for PS3 would have worked better. In that game, you take turns to make your moves.

The Bureau: XCOM Declassified The combat reminds me of Mass Effect and even some of the powers are basically Mass Effect moves. I'm liking it so far. My complaint is that the AI isn't the smartest so I manually issue order instructions to my companions on a regular basis. This game actually has me excited for the next mass Effect game if BW can do a decent job.

Never expected dmc combat, just expected decent controls. The least I expect from controls is they be consistent. As for combat, now that I think about it, what I really disliked were the animations, they seemed so unpolished and bad. But as you said, to each their own. I will have to agree that animations aren't the best. That can't even be argued with.

Worst combat and controls I have encountered in a game in a long time. It's not even that the combat is that bad, but the unresponsiveness and inaccuracy just kills it for me. To each his own, I guess. If the framerate issues in Dark Souls hadn't made me quit, I think I might have rated it higher than Demon's Souls. I felt that I was in complete control of my character. If one expects fast paced combat a la Devil May Cry and its ilk, I can see why one would be disappointed.

Played Dark and Demon's Souls on PS3. Demon's is one of my favorite games on the console. Stopped playing Dark once I hit Blight Town. Framerate was unbearable. I di enjoy the game up until that point. Once my backlog is conqured, I might give the PC version a try. Waiting for Bloodborne so I don't feel the need to grab Dark Souls 2.

Kingdoms of Amalur. Finally decided to go Chakram and Faeblades. The lore might be a bit boring but combat is fairly fun. I wish the Elder Scrolls series had fun combat. I'd probably spend 200 hours on those games if that was the case.

A wild update appears! Very happy to see that the progress of the project is on track. Keep up the good work, ladies and gents.

I' just sayin', narrative is supposed to be very good but I haven't seen snything out of the ordinary. I'm not even playing this to experience the gameplay. I have difficulty set to easy just to get to the good parts quickly.

Playing Old World Blues. I think I am almost done. Only a few things left to do. I tried Spec Ops: The Line. I reached chapter 4 and stopped. I have heard good things about the game but for the moment, it seems like a standard TPS.

England will not win it is all I know.

Been playing Final Fantasy: Type-0 now that the fan translation has been released. Looks really nice on PC.
