  1. A company with online verification/monthly subscriptions and a company with its own online distribution system. ...which both companies made from scratch and which have become the market leaders in their respective fields. EDIT: Apparently I suck at Mass Effect, but I have heard other people make the same complaints on podcasts etc.
  2. Don't forget incorporeal monstrosities made out of tortured souls and actually eating something's very soul instead of just killing them.
  3. But you really care about Steam logging your playtime and making a pretty graph out of it?
  4. I like my games to end. Eventually you'll realize that all the time you put into leveling that weapon up to 9999 could have been used to play something awesome like Portal or World of Goo.
  5. Anyone trudging through the NWN2 OC for whatever reason instead of playing the awesomeness of MotB is doing themselves a disservice.
  6. It's a legitimate concern. That's why I don't get stuff from places like EA Link which is dead now AFAIK. If Steam goes down permanently, all hope is lost. Of course Good Old Games has the most awesome model ever with each game coming in their own DRM-free guaranteed-to-work installer package that you can copy and backup as much as you like.
  7. There's a difference between giving someone a copy of your driver's license and putting your cell number on facebook and signing up to Steam with an email account and a credit card number which you need to give out anyway when you're buying something. The most you have to give anyone here to sign up for a cell contract etc. is an ID of some sort. You do know that by posting here you are also giving out information and it is far from anonymous.
  8. If it was enough of a detriment to their profits, they would think of something else. Apparently it isn't. You aren't entitled to the game, the publisher doesn't owe you anything. As long as the internet requirement is clearly marked on the box.
  9. Don your tinfoil hats, kids. Things are changing, we are becoming more connected all the time. There's no stopping this. Living in the UK must be pretty tough for you then, it being the Nanny State and all. And who could argue with the convenience of digital distribution?
  10. 'Should have been in the first game?' Because a custom AI for each teammate is now standard in Western RPGs? I don't think that expecting decent AI from an AAA game is too much to ask. 90% of the time it was me against the enemies with my companions dead after a few seconds. If you change the combat system, change the AI enough to be at least useful. Thought it would fit since that man is the legendary David Gaider. Have you guys not seen the interviews? David lost about 100 pounds and gained hair; I suspect he's been bathing in the blood of interns. I can count the amount of game developers I know by face on my fingers. David Gaider is not among them.
  11. It would be too funny if all those issues were in the legal version as well. Not that I care too much, I'm not even a Batman fan and there are loads of good games just around the corner.
  12. Yeah, I just looked it up. I think it was some other game. They added the revoking tool with the latest patch, but I wouldn't put too much trust into that.
  13. Didn't they disable it a while ago with a patch?
  14. Damn Steam haters! You are a dying breed. From what I've seen Empire is even more complicated than Medieval 2. I don't want to manage towns/fortresses let alone schools/farms/sawmills/mines and whatever else there are in Empire. The sea battles were pretty bad ass in the demo, though. Rome FTW!
  15. Still needs a witty caption, preferably with bad grammar.
  16. Big Rigs movie starring Hayden Christensen, Megan Fox & Eric Roberts? Day 1! Sonic Unleashed live action?
  17. But Serious Cat is no ordinary cat he is a legend among the intertubes. Bored man sleeping is just a picture waiting for a witty capture to be accepted on the internets. Also cats are generally funnier than bald middle-aged fat dudes.
  18. Boll should be using more bad games for his movie material. Debating which is worse would be pretty fun.
  19. It is the destroyer of lives, if you don't put it down after the first hour you will be forever throwing Prinnies and upgrading your stuff to lvl 9999. There is no end save that which comes with the calm of the grave.
  20. I weep for anyone playing Wet. Also, Eliza Dushku's voice acing won't be doing them any favors.
  21. Quick, sue them like the Max Payne guy or just marvel at the coincidence. Whichever.
  22. He was one of the republican presidential candidates for the 2008 election. He was somewhat popular on the internet with his anti-government stance, until it came out that he was also a crazy christian. The XKCD guy also likes to make fun of him every now and then. Needless to say he failed miserably:
  23. NIS games? Everyone who's heard of Disgaea should know enough to steer clear of it.
  24. My only advice is MotB.
  25. Adblock FTW! Evony is an online Civilization-like game that advertises itself with pictures of scantily clad women.
