Dragon Age Origins
I could see some kind of skill-based system with each casting giving you an increasing penalty on the next spell and also depending on the power of the spell. So you could cast a bunch of medium power spells or a strong one and then weak ones for a while. Something like the PnP system where you can take as much actions as you like, but each one gives an increasing penalty on the other ones.(can't remember where it's from)

Obviously spellcasting needs to be as annoying as possible to make it more "logical". I can't think on anything better than mana at the moment, but there are better systems out there. I've always been a fan of the "spellacasting tires you out" kind of thing ala Shadowrun or Arcanum, but those systems don't really work too well in a cRPG.

Mana or cooldown timers may not be the best, but using a horribly aged PnP mechanic that even no modern PnP games use is beyond ridiculous.

Yahtzee reviews
The veil stuff as a whole felt a bit underdeveloped. I would have liked something more scary than little fat floating bugs to come after you... Not really seeing the JK angle. Keep playing, it manages to mix stuff up quite a bit.

Creating an alibi Mr I'm Also From Canada? Speaking of falsehoods... The old DnD system is in fact one of the worst. Having to constantly rest is bad enough for a PnP game, but in a cRPG it is just ridiculous.

Andrew Ryan was kind of an arrogant douche if you ask me. Also, I kind of felt that the Mafia guy was living on borrowed time anyway and knew that he would get what was coming to him.

Need Computer Help
Started her up again, and let her run all the way through the movie this time, after it was over the game ran very smoothly. Loading times were horrible and the frame rate needed time to "catch up" once a level was loaded, but I'm pretty confident those were due to the Virtual Memory since I could hear the hard disk spinning and chugging, and once it stopped it was smooth sailing. Found out I made a mistake, but it was a good mistake: the RAM I ordered was a package deal, I'm getting two 1GB sticks so I'll have 2GB of memory, all free! Final update tommorow!!! That's interesting. Enjoy the awesomeness that is Bloodlines then!

No one is crazy enough to create Volo. Leliana was written by Sheryl Chee. This is her first BioWare game, and she also wrote Wynne and Dog. I haven't had a TV for five years now (I have the box but no channels) so I don't know what you're talking about. Bioware finally realized that they have had the same ~5 characters from KotOR onwards? Bringing in new writers sounds like a great idea. Try Hulu if you don't have a real TV. There's still some stuff worth watching(House MD, Lost, Dollhouse with new BSG/Angel/Firefly cast). Only Volo knows the madness that is being Volo.

You're British, you win this round. Arrested Development was still awesome, though.

Arrested Development was the last true sitcom, heathen! Now I miss Allo Allo

Rainbow Six was where it's at anyway...

Dragon Age Origins
Yeah, it might have all happened in my head. In fact maybe you are all figments of my imagination... That would explain Volourn.... Still, a Cute/crazy redhead has potential for greatness, if done right.

They never "made" the GRAW games, they just made the PC ports. Bionic Commando Rearmed was supposedly pretty good...

I'm thinking of the Jeanette from Bloodlines kind, I think. I might also be crazy, though. Wouldn't that be ironic?

I know I felt pretty bad when that French scientist chick in System Shock 2 got killed in the hangar due to my mistake. Delacroix? It does kind of suck when people die because of your mistakes, but usually you can avoid it or it's just expandable RTS sprite-people. Yes, Delacroix. And no, the character really grew on me. And just about when I was to meet her in person, she dies. That sucked. That sounds like Polito, actually.

Has anyone felt compassion for any character in ANY game?

There were no puppies/kittens there so NO. I'm sure everyone else broke down during Wrex's sad story of sadness.

I calls them as I sees them I can feel compassion for fictional kittens and puppies

My point is: She doesn't like aliens, because she is ignorant. If somebody labels her as xenophobic, without trying to understand her point of view, doesn't that make that somebody also ignorant? That's what I'm saying, things arent always extreme cases. Hitler and such are. You can do a lot more good if you react with understanding, not with hatered. None of that changes the fact that I found her to be annoying, which was my original point. I don't care if she's annoying because aliens killed her family and burned down her village or just because she's a rich spoiled brat. I'm deeply sorry that I don't take greater interest in the fictional lives of fictional characters in a video game. I really hope she won't do anything crazy without my understanding and compassion.

There's football in DA now? EA must really be interfering with Bioware more than we thought...

I never said she was a nazi, being ignorantly intolerant of aliens could easily be xenophobia:
