It's quite amazing how we embrace UN bureaucracy when we don't want anything to happen. QFT, this is not directed at Walsie but I am seeing this sentiment in South Africa and globally from people opposed to any kind of attack on Assad Most informed people are well aware that Russia will veto any military action so the UN security council can't be relied on the act against Assad. I believe this will be Russia's decision even if the evidence is irrefutable that Assad is guilty

Your " international community" is only 28 states (NATO) from 198 states in the world. NATO (or Europe) <> international community.Even many NATO members (Italy, Spain, Greece, Norway, Poland etc) don't want this intervention, only 3 states want this (USA, France, UK). Oby don't you feel embarrassed for the way the Russian government is handling the Syrian crisis? I tell you what, I pull some strings and arrange for you immigrate to South Africa..then you won't have be feel sheepish about your governments decisions? You will like South Africa, we have free press and freedom of speech And we don't mind if you are gay, there is no sexual discrimination over here.

Sorry friend Bruce, but for all the repetition of the message, from Obama "being sure" and the Israeli intelligence services claiming as "fact" it happened, hard evidence is in very short supply. Currently about as convincing a case as Saddams stock piles of WMD ready to deploy. I sat down yesterday, read a number of web site news articles (everything from bbc over al jazeera to fox news, trying not to laugh too hard at the latter) and put a critical view on the sources and question the motivation of each article. Couldn't find a single "agenda-less" claim that it happened. Entirely anecdotal, I know. Still makes me question whether or not somebody is fanning the flames for less obvious reasons. I have to be honest I do get a little worried when someone of the intellectual omnipotence of Gorthfucius disagrees with me, but history has shown us that even oracles have been proven wrong ... There is a major and fundamental difference between the proposed attack on Syria and the invasion of Iraq. Certain countries invaded Iraq as they felt that Saddam had WMD, this was proven incorrect as he dismantled the WMD. But in Syria there is no doubt that they have Chemical weapons and that someone used them last week against Syrian civilians. The question is really who is responsible for the Chemical weapons attack?

JFSOCC, that's defeatist talk. You could take a loan and then donate 10K? I don't think you are committed enough to the PE project, I'm disappointed in you !!!! -
Well done young Grasshopper !!! I'm interested what did they ask you in the interview? Was it straight work related questions or anything that you didn't expect

Okay, I have same view on food as you. I also enjoy going to exciting farmers markets or funky supermarkets where I can look for ingredients. I find cooking therapeutic and there are very few things as rewarding as producing a meal where your family or friends can sit around a table and you see the enjoyment of them eating a meal you cooked

No one is disputing that the rebels don't have extremists in there midst. No one is saying that there aren't factions within the rebels that have committed atrocities. But lets be clear on something, the West doesn't want to get involved in Syria. Despite what several people on this forum have been saying the West has spent the last 3 years avoiding intervention. This is about the fact that Assad regime used Chemical weapons and there has to be some sort retaliatory strike against them. I can't see this leading to regime change anymore. But there has to some punitive action

Its shocking but I was watching on Sky News random interviews in the UK where they asked people on the streets "should the UK attack Syria" And the responses were mostly a resounding "no" But it was mostly elderly people who they interviewed who clearly didn't understand the situation as they compared it to Afghanistan and made comments like " we feel sorry for all those children but the Arabs need to sort there own problems out "

Well considering the sources that are saying it was obviously him, you have to be somewhat skeptical. Nope I'm not sceptical at all, and neither is the Arab League and almost all Western countries.

The Fall is excellent, very short but worth well worth it. They are making a second season. If you like European directed series you must watch Crossing Lines

Just curiouse on who backs 10K

Generally people will keep quiet if they were one of the large backers as it may be seen as ostentatious to say "hey everybody I'm one of the 10k backers, look at me " -

100%, what do I always say? I play games for entertainment and not inspiration. I think sometimes people take games waaaaaaaaaaaay too seriously and they get emotional about something that they really shouldn't. Get deeply upset with the war in Afghanistan if you feel strongly enough about it but not the fact that you only have 12 spells as opposed to 18

Yaaaaaaaaaay, good news

Dude, step away from the mirror Okay that was quite clever

You know, I hadn't thought of that, wells are kind of scarce up here and especially the stock farmers value water sources highly. But that does not give anybody the right to mess with my property, I maintain the cistern, I paid for it, its my property. When I see someone messing with my water he better be a faster sprinter than me if he doesn't like wheelchairs. I have seen it numerous times, people feel annoyed by what they feel is someone's unnecessary attempts to secure something that they feel doesn't need to be secure so they break the security. They don't want to steal anything its more the principle. Its wrong but it happens
-
Okay that does sound serious but you don't know if it was poisoned unless you test the water properly. Maybe someone was just making a point that you shouldn't keep it locked?

I watched Cold Mountain again last night, I forgot what a brilliant, sad and evocative movie it is. For those who don't know about the movie its about Jude Law who is a Confederate soldier who makes his way at the end of the American Civil War back to his true love, Nicole Kidman, through the dangerous and war ravaged countryside of Virginia to North Carolina Highly recommended

Yeah that would happen to a certain degree to Obama if its found out that Assad didn't use the Chemical weapons but an attack on Syria wouldn't be on the same scale as the invasion of Iraq. Both from a timeline or logistics perspective
