I noticed the parcel was sent by someone called Bruce, but its not me. So the mystery deepens

Okay I'm missing this one? What's in the package

Tonight I had a large green leaf salad and chicken breasts, it was okay...it lacked taste. But I ate so much junk food over Easter I need to just eat simply for a few days

I know what you meant, but I had a sudden flash of Russia requiring proof that rational people were only marrying irrational people as they forbade "interrational" marriage between two rational people such that the irrational people get forced to wear φ armbands so they can be properly picked by those represented by the set ℚ... oh you ...

What Mor means is more of a symbolic association with Oby. So you try to defend and justify Russia and its actions in Ukraine. But I don't think anyone thinks you have the exact same views on the Western world as Oby....which would be extreme and egregiously exaggerated

I don't know Nonek but everything you have mentioned that doesn't exist in your version of Deus Ex exists in the latest version I am busy with, you don't think the game will be too hard if you leave out some of those things in a modern game like the latest Deus Ex? You also don't want to ignore practicality with misplaced nostalgia "If you like old stuff you are being nostalgic" is unfounded, illogical and cliche. Besides, if he's actually playing the old game right now and enjoying the old design then you can't really call it misplaced nostalgia. I don't remember DX:HR being particularly obnoxious about this, though. The best example is a world where you can actually figure out where to go by talking to people, reading signs and making basic connections (Morrowind) and a world where you actually can't find people unless you follow the giant arrow (at which point I wonder why even bother building the environment, since half your eye and attention is focused on the arrow, as if you're walking around Paris eyes glued to Google Maps). Playing nothing these days after some dabbling with Gothic 2/3, I am disappointed that Age of Wonders 3 and Warlock 2 don't seem to be so great. I agree, for me the best way to find your way around a particular game world would be the Morrowind methodology. But I can understand the frustration if you aren't use to it. I like the way Dishonored handled finding quest objectives, you could disable them if you wanted so you were forced to explore which was cool But don't be too dismissive of the danger of unintentional misplaced nostalgia, its real and pernicious. This occurs when someone plays older games and then automatically dislikes newer games or doesn't give newer iterations of a game series a proper chance. I'm not talking about Nonek as he explained his view but I do see this view from others

Okay I'm impressed you are acknowledging the Russians are using propaganda, this is a huge and progressive step Please He has been doing this from the start, addressing our misgivings of Russia actions by "acknowledgment" always shortly followed by the "but, the west isn't any better".. deflecting any criticism of Russia and its actions or any effects by arguing against anything "west" related (the "look who is talking" routine). You can easily observe how thin are the argument of the oby bunch, that is until they get to argue against the west or on some tangibly related argument that doesn't really matter. Its like arguing with rednecks, it doesn't matter what USA will do as long as it whooping ass they are happy, same here only with Russia and its perceived enemies with USA on top. Hi Mor Welcome back, where have you been?

Well that is what is confusing me as well, you sell direct and it does have real products But from I understand you can also setup people to sell under you, so it is also a pyramid scheme?

I don't see how this is not relevant (though the respective merits of the services are, of course, not relevant to the subject at hand). EA is trying to force people towards Origin, it's that simple. Mass Effect 3 and Dead Space 3 are not available through Steam either (or any other means besides Origin, afaik. Even the disc version of ME3 *requires* Origin, which really pissed me off btw). I find this trend of (single player*) games being tied to some digital platform disturbing, even more so if they're tied to a very specific digital platform (fwiw, Skyrim being tied to Steam *really* pissed me off as well, especially since I bought the disc version just to avoid Steam) * Yes, yes, I'm aware of ME3's multiplayer and it is my personal opinion that they ought to have used the money they wasted on that crap on creating a decent single player experience instead. Shame poor you, don't you get Steam or Origin in your country? Is that why you don't like them? I'll make videos of me playing DA:I and I'll share them with you, that will be almost as much fun as you playing the game itself

I'm not dismissing or being negative towards Human Revolution in particular Mr VC, though obviously that is still very much fresh in my mind, but what I see as a degenerate practice. I liked Human Revolution and thought it was a very good spiritual successor to Deus Ex (which is a rare occurrence in and of itself) but I think my claims of too much accessibility and handholding is fair criticism, in the act of catering to the lowest common denominator they have essentially rather robbed their games of (to me) enjoyable aspects, that being exploration, challenge and experimentation. And of course I brazenly defend the right to believe that anybody who cannot understand a door or ladders function should not be left in charge of a PC. " And of course I brazenly defend the right to believe that anybody who cannot understand a door or ladders function should not be left in charge of a PC." That comment made me really laugh

Outside of PVP how are you finding it, are there a number of high level raid options? So in other words what do you do once you have reached maximum level? There is quite a few vet raid instances. Also this is coming up soonish -> Don't get me wrong, it still has issues with PvE, especially when not in a dungeon, but dungeons are okish. PvP has a lot of potential but needs balancing, badly... the problem is, that if you balance for PvP, you will most likely ruin PvE balance, and the other way around... so far it's more focused on PvE balance, hence the PvP is a real mess, with some really super strong combinations. That video for Craglorn looks excellent, I like the way they will incentivise you complete the trials in a certain time. That will create some competitive fun amongst the guilds

You also don't want to ignore practicality with misplaced nostalgia No the game is quite easy, and bear in mind I am a middle aged man without any pretense towards "leet skills," and this is on realistic. Of course I died fairly quickly during the Unatco ambush, but I refused to plan and prepare for that, as it seemed far too meta-gamey. I wouldn't say solid, practical design principles instead of skinner box handholding is misplaced nostalgia though, especially when i'm engaged in direct comparison of the two styles. Edit: Of course personal opinion and whatnot. But if we are completely honest with each other you aren't really comparing the two styles are you Nonek? I just see you dismissing the latest Deus Ex compared to the older one. Where is comparative analysis between the two games because I'm just seeing negativity about the newer one. I am probably misunderstanding your post...

Okay I'm impressed you are acknowledging the Russians are using propaganda, this is a huge and progressive step Now you need to say " Russia is actively involved in destabilizing eastern Ukraine. They are doing this as they have a political objective to annex parts of Ukraine so they can create a buffer zone between them and Western friendly countries" I know you can do this, the truth will set you free Zora...the truth will see you free

New backer here
BruceVC replied to KingBullGod's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Look around the forums. Share your ideas - the developers read the forums and do take player inputs into account. If you look around you'll also see some issues that have been hashed over and over and over and over and over and over and over....and over. Romance in the game is one of those topics. And over. But in the interest of complete honesty and realism we never really get tired of discussing the importance of Romance in RPG...we don't want our new forum members to get the wrong impression and think Romance isn't an important objective for sequels of PoE -
If you left out certain things, map markers for example, without changing anything else, the game would almost certainly be broken...because the designers assumed you would be using those "features" and didn't provide any other way of figuring out where your objective is without using them, (that's why, wut completely revising journal entries to provide more hints, you can't just plain disable map markers in the last two Elder Scrolls games - you'd have no idea what you were supposed to be doing just from what NPCs say alone, and the vanilla journal entries are just as useless, if not worse). Too hard? Yes, because the game wasn't designed (sensibly) for it...which is what his complaint is derived from, if I'm not mistaken. That's some good points Barti darling, that's some good points As you mentioned without some systemic changes to features like the Journal entries I think the game around questing would be unfairly difficult

Nice story "I figured I'd pick a NWN NPC and tell everyone they named that NPC after me just to get a laugh" that made me laugh as I can just imagine how upset people would have got I always thought your forum sobriquet was because of your love of dogs so its interesting to see the real history Bet you can't guess where my forum name comes from? -

Gromnir you understand that just because someone says something on the Internet it doesn't necessarily make it true. We have a responsibility to question the veracity of statements if we want more information around a particular comment. So its nothing personal, its just the Internet But saying all that there are several members who have corroborated your story so I believe it . Its a fascinating little history around the name Gromnir. I am particularly interested in the fact that Gaider would have been influenced or enjoyed your forum personality that he named a character after you, kudos to you There are a couple of forum members whose screen name made it into games. Gromnir was the most famous, but I can think of one in NWN and one in SoU. This was a big thing that caused a lot of flames I remember on either the BIS or Bioware boards, I forget which exactly. Maybe it was both. Ironically this whole incident is where my current screen name (that I use on 5 different forums no less) came from. Interesting, do you remember the names that made it onto NWN and SoU? Also what is the history and the incident around your name? -
Well that certainly won't hurt. For me personally, I couldn't get over the crappy controls, they felt so imprecise and sluggish. Yes it reminded me of Deathtrap Dungeon and the early Tomb Raider so I played it for about an hour and gave up. May come back to it though Deathtrap Dungeon and the sequel, Trial of the Champions, were 2 of my favourite books in the Fighting Fantasy series. They should remake the game because from what I understand the first one made for PC was an abysmal failure.

Whaa?? When did he do that? Only time I witnessed him break character was on the old Interplay boards circa 2003 when he called out Feargus for the downfall of Black Isle. I have had him respond "normally" on these forums once or twice since I have been active in the last 18 months or so. The one time was when I said " I wasn't clear on his point " and he explained -

His Obsidian forum persona is based on the half-Orc Gromnir, a character from Baldur's Gate 2 who would refer to himself in third person. this is incorrect. is there Anything you has been correct about in this thread? maybe we will review. no doubt there is some stuff you got right, but... HA! Good Fun! Isn't it the reverse? A character was named after you? I can't remember, I'm getting old and my memory isn't what it used to be. essentially, yes. Gaider made the tob character a half-orc 'cause most folks on the old bg2 boards assumed that the Gromnir persona were 'posed to be half-orc-- were kinda a joke. HA! Good Fun! Its not that I don't believe you Gromnir but I don't suppose you have any links that support what you are saying around where the Gromnir name comes from? -
I know about Amway, we also have them in South Africa. What is your primary issue with there business model?
