  1. Bester you don't strike me as the type who would be bothered by ads in your game...or would you? Bruce you don't strike me as the type who wouldn't be bothered by garbage in your house... No I would be, I take my garbage out regularly. It becomes a health hazard if you don't and starts to smell
  2. All that shows is that foreign workers work cheaper, not that there are no Americans willing to take those jobs. It's the same situation with H1B visas. Am I the only one who finds this type of perspective hard to believe? The lack of effectiveness to implement proper immigration reform or control is really about the Democrats staying in power? It's been that way for decades. It's working too, even Texas will turn Democrat within 10 years, Republican party is dead even if they don't know it yet. WOD, can I share my personal perspective around what's really killing the Republican party. Its not the immigrants that are doing this, its the intransigence from the more conservative members within the party around there refusal to adopt or even want to recognise social changes that are sweeping through most Western democracies. The days of white, heterosexual males only representing the voice and aspirations of any political party are over. And if any political party can't make a transition from the older and anachronistic structures to properly embrace this bold and grand new world then you are right, they are finished
  3. Hah, you can't be serious. I think he is being serious and I understand why. Its about the fact there are certain inappropriate comments made about the death of someone who was loved and cherished by millions. And someone who basically spent his whole life trying to make people laugh, and he succeeded brilliantly at that. We live in a world where we are beset by violence and bad news stories so there are certain events we expect people to respect. We don't always need people to play the old Internet troll game or want people to be clever and "insightful " If you can't show some empathy and compassion then rather don't say anything at all. Robin Williams, RIP
  4. But both you boys have left out Risen 3 from your list? You are allowed to add it even if its not part of the original 3 options
  5. Bester you don't strike me as the type who would be bothered by ads in your game...or would you?
  6. Very true, swimming is an excellent way of exercising and there is a pool at the gym. Swimming is very popular in South Africa, its not a bad idea and one I have thought about several times
  7. http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2014/08/11/sleeping-dogs-definitive-edition-remaster/#more-226435 Sleeping Dogs is being remade with enhanced graphics, a pity I played this game already because if you haven't played this brilliant game now is the time to get it
  8. I always lift alone and I don't even give a flying F about my diet. I just try to eat as little sugar as possible. Lifting is just as easy and schedules can be flexible unless you want to become a super-lean competition body builder or a world class strongman. I hear you, I just prefer doing cardio only. But I realize that doing weights and cardio is better for weight loss, its just easier to do cardio only
  9. So basically you will in your underwear, drinking alcohol and watching porn on the Internet. Good plan KP, that gets my approval I don't really watch porn, was thinking about a real girl.Okay, an escort is always a good idea I don't pay for sex. I'm starting to wonder about your habits. No you don't understand, its not about paying for sex. What if someone else paid for you? Or is that also below your moral compass? And I imagine your perspective will change if you ever work in the world of sales for a large corporation where you have just closed a big deal and you are taking customers out to celebrate
  10. Slippery slope. Can I ask a question, why do you guys honestly care if some software knows you IP address or region you live in? What are you worried about, do you see this as invasion of your privacy?
  11. Just cardio. Cycling, rowing and running Why no lifting? I prefer the cardio disciplines, I can train by myself and I can change my schedule and diet if necessary. For example my friends who do weights really diet strictly, I do watch what I eat but I am not religious about it
  12. No offense Ros but you don't get points for stating the obvious, especially when it comes from someone of your insight and intelligence. This is what I would expect you to say Obviously a Democracy is a better and more stable form of government in the long term than a dictatorship. This point is enforced by the fact we live in a global world and all countries need political stability and to create economic environments that encourage investment, risk is something that makes investors uncomfortable. I would say historically dictatorships may have made sense but not anymore
  13. Yeah they can be expensive
  14. I'll tell you something Malc. Do you know in all my years of being on the Internet I have never ever reported anyone, even when I am really offended by there comments
  15. So basically you will in your underwear, drinking alcohol and watching porn on the Internet. Good plan KP, that gets my approval I don't really watch porn, was thinking about a real girl. Okay, an escort is always a good idea
  16. Just cardio. Cycling, rowing and running
  17. People whinging about the fact we are whinging about Oby again ?
  18. So basically you will in your underwear, drinking alcohol and watching porn on the Internet. Good plan KP, that gets my approval
  19. You shouldn't lose even one bit of your endurance or strength during or after a 7-day break, as long as you haven't been abusing your body with loads of alcohol and junk food. Endurance and strength loss starts at 1+ month of not doing any of your exercises, and its a slooooow process. In fact, some people get stronger and better when de-laoding for two weeks. (I don't though) Interesting post and it makes sense, but I did miss gym for 18 days, not 7 days But you also right about my diet. I didn't drink that much and we ate relatively healthily considering I was on holiday. So I had yoghurt for breakfast several times and sushi for dinner twice..and obviously the constant walking in London would have helped But I see what you are saying about the 1 month rule, good to know, But now I'm back I will be on a very strict gym routine. I plan to go 6 times a week for the next month. I normally go 4-6 times a week
  20. But his personality is more complicated that that , he doesn't make posts that I find truly offensive..just annoying with there lack of substance. There is always a sliver of truth to what he says or rather he makes his points in a way that could be feasible. So you'll notice he will say something like " Americans show there weakness by not engaging with ISIS directly, Americans only brave when fly high in plane ( I know my Oby talk isn't accurate, its just an example ) Now his comment is not true because its ignoring the obvious logistical and political issues with boots on the ground but you know there are plenty of people on these forums who don't like America and believe in conspiracy theories so this type of comment resonates with them. So I feel he treads a fine and intentional line around the forum rules, he knows what he can't say and his constant justification of his views is always supported by links from RT or other websites that lack real credibility...which he is also aware of that he cant be penalized by the Mods for because he "is just discussing what another website said " So I don't envy the Mods because I would hate to have to judge what of his posts are really a breach of forum rules
  21. Gang Related, its really good. Its about a crack gang task force in LA that brings down organised crime. But one of the task force members is actually working with the main Latino gang that they are trying to break-up. And this cop is also the main hero in the series so you can imagine the emotional dynamics and stress involved. Highly recommended
  22. If what oby wants is to be called a timewasting bigoted incompetent then oby has got even more problems than I originally suspected. I have no idea what motivates Oby or what his forum objectives are , he may really be Russian? But its pointless trying to have a real debate with him because he doesn't respect the principle of debating etiquette. So if you try to engage with him on a serious level you will just end up getting annoyed...and for what? There are loads of other people who enjoy having mature debates on these forums. And this is not the same thing as someone agreeing with you or a person "winning" a debate. For me its just about the exchange of different perspectives
  23. This is really good news, I hope the initial reviews are positive.
  24. If that was a valid reason to not include Romance we would never see Romance in any RPG , because the definition of "in-depth " is very subjective. So imagine if Obsidians criteria around whether they should include Romance was based on non-Romance interaction being "in-depth"...who would decide this? Obsidian themselves? The fans? Maybe the funders of PoE but the point being you would never get consensus Obsidian should make the decision. I pledged for Obsidian to make a game, not the RPG fan community/backers. I agree, that is what makes the most sense. Of course they take fan feedback into consideration but they need to be the ultimate decision makers on what to include That's cool and all, but why have you chosen to ignore the actual point of my post and respond only to the throwaway example? The point of that post was about opportunity cost and limited resources and Obsidian having to make choices (that's my answer BTW. Obsidian should ultimately wield an iron fist and make all the choices) about where to spend their available resources, and the problem with a poll is that some people will, as demonstrated within this topic, answer the poll question as if resources are no issue, whereas some will assume that if resources are diverted to romances, they'd have to cut out an entire race or something. Like elves. On second thoughts, I'm OK with this trade off. I apologize, the reason I ignored your other points is the "resources" comes up all the time. My view on this is its a red herring around why we can't implement Romance. What I mean by that is almost all of us have no idea what is the financial impact or timeline logistics to implement something like Romance, in fact we also don't know this about any feature really, and that's understandable because unless you have designed a game like BG2 or are experienced modder how would you know ? I believe and understand Obsidians reasons for not implementing Romance. But end of the day I prefer to dwell in world of facts and statistics so if you say "Romance is a resource drain that could be used for other things " my next question would be something similar to " so give me a detailed breakdown of what is the cost of resource x or resource y and the timelines to implement it "....and I know you can't possibly have this information. Which was why I ignored those points from you earlier
