Guys we need to be generous with this KS as we obviously want this game funded. Those stretch goals also look great

Does it bother you that ISIS fighters may get crucified? ISIS has crucified many people so let them see what its like?
-
Yeah I concur with TN, keep us updated around what they find out.

I watched the final episode of season 4 of American Horror Story last night, it was entertaining this season but not as good as previous ones I'm not sure why I didn't enjoy it as much as previous seasons...maybe its the fact that most of actors are the same?

I tend to agree with your decision, work for someone else for a while. Sure you will now have a boss but at least its a consistent and guaranteed income and that will take pressure off you while you plan your next move...if you want to change In South Africa some people think " entrepreneur" is type of job you can learn at school or at university. So you hear people saying " you should just become a entrepreneur " as if its so easy and there is a formulae that just works. I believe its much harder than working for a corporation, while at least in the beginning, and people also forget the pressure on a person when they aren't getting that salary cheque every month from working for a company

Excellent photos, that sounds like exactly the type of place I like to drink at and visit

Volo I must apologize, I made my point in a terrible way and I wasn't very constructive What I wanted to say was its excellent you are committed and interested in the TV series, it is an incredible experience when you enjoy something as superlative as Game of Thrones But you must read the books because they will add so much more to your overall understanding of the story and reveal new things
-
I dunno, I thought it made sense when I played it. Yes this is very accurate insight into the narrative, I had forgotten my choice and reasons for it until you reminded me. I forgave him because the dark one child needed to see that there are always nuances in decisions and forgiveness is a necessary consideration in our decisions, he must see this as he has been asked to forgive

Why wouldn't you want the TV series to be like the books? If you had read them you would want the series to be like them because they are just so well written and captivating
-
I'm reading the book at the moment, its very compelling. I recommend it Today I'm having a Braai ( BBQ) at my house, I'm making my famous "BruceVC potato bake ". We are going to have a few laughs and a few drinks of course

The AU appoints Robert Mugabe as its 2015 chairman
BruceVC replied to BruceVC's topic in Way Off-Topic
I'm glad there has been some interest in this thread because it allows me to now respond in more detail, firstly we all should care about economic transformation of the African continent. We live in a global world and and we are impacted on different levels by the success or failure of Africa, so the main reasons we should care about the state of Africa include The humanitarian aspect : The fact that millions of people still live and die in abject poverty, that people still suffer from diseases that are cured throughout the world and that there are still many people who just aren't educated due to the the failure of educational institutions in various African countries. All these problems would be vastly reduced if AU was actually doing its job which is basically ensuring good governance and creating a framework for economic transformation. What people may not realize is that the AU has a real charter that countries are suppose to adhere to but many don't. This charter specifically mentions how countries must follow free and fair elections and respect human rights. Mugabe is in direct contravention of the AU charter due to his political decisions over the last decade or so The economic aspect : Africa has huge reserves of untapped mineral resources that could be accessed much more easily if there was a stable environment for investors. Being able to get to these resources would benefit the countries of Africa if the investment was done in a credible way. Also a stable continent would lead to more investment from global hedge funds and people who would buy shares of African listed companies. But at the moment the risk factor keeps many people away The security aspect : We know impoverished countries are breeding ground for Islamic extremists. We already see Boko Haram and Al-Shabaab that exist primarily due to economic factors in their countries. If African countries were doing well economically there would be less support for these types of groups and these groups would be more effectively dealt by the AU. So even if you don't care about the first two reasons around why the stability and growth of the African continent matters you should be concerned about terrorist groups exporting their ideology to other parts of the world So now the AU decides to appoint Mugabe who has no credibility due to his management of his country. I can't stress this point enough, his economic policies have destroyed his country's economy. We have over 1 million Zimbabwean economic migrants living in South Africa alone. What possible value will Mugabe bring to the AU? Zora is right, there are much worse current leaders than Mugabe in Africa . But that just highlight my major criticism of the AU, it fails to enforce its own charter. "If you don't stand for something you'll fall for anything " And Baro is also correct, of course I believe Africa should be following Western values and political systems. This will indubitably lead to the desperately needed economic transformation of the continent. Its always weird to have people on a forum in this day and age battle with the concept that Western ideology offer the best quality of lives to their citizens. I even made a post about this. Western values are not about colonialism and the Iraq invasion, these were obviously wrong. Western values are about free and fair elections, free markets, free press, respecting the rule of law and good governance of governmental institutions. That is exactly what is lacking in the African context in certain cases. So obviously Africa needs to implement these steps as the benefits should be clear and include considerations like a stable economic investment framework So yes Africa needs to follow the West in some ways -
http://www.aljazeera.com/news/africa/2015/01/mugabe-appointed-african-union-chairman-150130190208635.html This utterly disappointing and disgraceful decision by the AU needs its own thread as it highlights why Africa doesnt achive it true potential The AU is useless and constantly makes terrible decisions. How can you appoint Mugabe who has effectively destroyed his country's economy and has been implicated in several cases of gross abuse of human rights He should be one of the last people to be even considered to represent the AU on this level

I'm interested to see if you can determine what it might have been? But I like Gromnirs idea, it makes sense
-
Ouch, now GG is on Law and Order :SVU This will be about harassment and some kind of abuse because that series focuses on those types of crimes. You boys will become even more vilified after that

Thats actually quite a scary story, its enough to almost put me off living outside a big city

Holy Smoke, thats definitely an esoteric kitchen appliance. I imagine only your hardcore duck lovers would invest it and be prepared to pay that price
-
I have never had that mignonette sauce before. I looked it up, it sounds perfect for oysters. I learnt something new
-
Oysters, another one of my favorite indulgences. I eat them simply, lemon juice and a drop of Tabasco
-
we chose to do tacos thursday instead o' tuesday... and we made carnitas de pato 'cause o' the following reasons: 1) Gromnir likes duck 2) Gromnir were running outta duck fat and we needed a duck recipe/excuse to replenish our supply. braise the duck (3-4 lbs o' legs... or when lazy, just quarter a whole duck) in a dutch oven for a few hours with a fine chopped white onion, juice and remains o' an orange or two, garlic head halved and whatever mexican spices appeal to you. is best to do this as a 2 day thing as half o' our motivation is collection o' duck fat and that is best done with an overnight cooling. eventual we collect our duck fat, strain out solids from liquid, and discard skin and bones. shred meat. add a little o' our precious duck fat to a cast iron skillet, set over medium-high heat and then cook duck til is nice and crispy. HA! Good Fun! Sounds very tasty Gromnir, when are you going to invite me to dinner? I can make myself available at very short notice to eat good food

Male or Female
BruceVC replied to constantine's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Great question, I always play a male character as I can relate to them and I tend to immerse myself in the RP aspect of the game. In other words I always consider my choices the game offers me and what the consequences are. -
The Matt Sheets Q(&)A thread
BruceVC replied to Sensuki's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Excellent idea, hopefully Matt gets time to respond @ Matt In your personal view don't you think an optional Romance arc enhances party interaction and makes that interaction more memorable? I tend to remember party members throughout the various RPG I have played through the years much more easily if I have Romanced them -
Keyrock are you not finding the game a little biased towards Zombies ? It seems in these types of games all we ever do is kill zombies and portray them in a certain way , there is never any dialogue or consideration around the aspirations of what zombies want, the idea is everyone wants their place in the world and even a brain-munching zombie should be given some rights and recognition in civil society. By playing a game like this what you are inadvertently doing is reinforcing the " zombie cultural stereotype " Granted it is a new SJ movement but I believe it will gain momentum, the goal is really to stop seeing zombies as the " bad guys" all the time?

" eating it all yourself " , thats exactly the type of thing Nigel Slater would say. He is my favorite UK celebrity chef I like the way you think in South Africa most of the chickens you buy have these insides removed which just seems like such a waste. So we have to buy organs like heart and liver separately Gizzards I eat the way the Portuguese eat them or at least how I have been served them, you fry them in butter ( use some olive oil so the butter doesn't burn ) and garlic and serve them with a peri-peri dipping sauce and some crusty bread
-
Last night I made myself delicious peri-peri Chicken Livers...really tasty and I had that with a salad Tonight I made myself a spicy Tomato and Jalapeno pasta with Mushrooms, also delicious...so I'm eating well at the moment but its healthy
